    Great video! Being an engineer and a pilot of the Boeing 777 is something more than just a job it’s like a destiny. Boeing 777 line is the most technological plane and it made massive impact on aviation history. On 9th November 2005 Boeing 777-200LR made a historical flight from Hong Kong to London Heathrow which is considered as longest distance travelled flight (11664 miles) ever. Looking back on what success aviation has achieved from Wright brothers flight to Boeing 777 is great. While observing the avionics compartment and realizing what amount of programming, electrical engineering has been contributed and invested to this fantastic plane makes me to do a big regards and bow to Boeing engineers. I hope that 777X program would even double the original success of 777 line. As the new Boeing 777X would be powered by the biggest commercial aviation engines GE9X I hope that this plane can improve the record of 9th November 2005 flight. I am very proud for the USA and Boeing that they engineered such outstanding plane. Boeing 777 is the rare example when the thing can combine perfect engineering and gorgeous design. I really think that it’s something special about to work so professionaly and close with this plane.

      So you're a 777 engineer (AME I assume?) and 777 pilot? That's awesome!

    Thanks for the tail number. I was like, "I've not seen an accessibile EE bay on a normal passenger model outside of the factory."
    VIP model. Makes sense. Doesn't look like it has officially flown out of Saudi Arabia since late 2017 a few months after the.... incident.
    Definitely one of the more special 777's to have flown.

    it would be cool to like do a solo flight on those types of planes it would feel a bit scary since theres just 1 pilot but yeah cool video showing the electronics of the plane and doing preflight procedures of a Boeing 777-200

    So this green tank is main battery. Wow. I thought it is much bigger.

      I thought the avionics and other computerized equipment required continuous DC for memory, time, etc. I guess everything is FGA (Floating Gate Arrays).

    I thought you just press loads of buttons and off you go. You have to climb inside the AV bay and rummage around in the dark before even getting started. I never thought so much preparation is required. Fascinating stuff👍

    • @Adelgary777

      +BigIronTV it's a great idea but i would suggest using this format to cover two connected actions like the APU switch while it's being turned on and what will happen outside :)

    • @BigIronTV

      That is a good idea. Like show pressing the button etc in the flight deck and see the apu inlet door open and hear it start to spin?

    Is disconnecting the main battery (as part of returning the aircraft to "cold-and-dark" state) on every other jet a normal procedure (to protect the battery from unwanted discharge)? I've never come across/heard of this being done even though your reason for doing so is perfectly understandable (I do the same on my old 2003 Toyota Corrolla sedan).

      +Shiny Knife Thanks. Even the pilots that fly with me have never seen lots of this stuff. Because at the airlines they show up and sit down and fly. With us they get more opportunity to see the full operation at all stages.

    Why are interior systems running from hot battery bus and not ground service AC bus like it used to be on "normal" 777? Couldn't they just install switch to shed those loads to preserve battery charge?
    Emergency lights has their own battery, right? Is there any way to check state of charge of emerg lights battery?
    Is it possible to power ECAM from battery using standby power switch to observe APU spool up on STAT page?
    What is CRD panel on the center pedestal for?
    Requesting: APU maintenance page display and everything related with SATCOM.

      the trend in new design seems to be to remove the circuit breaker panels because they can be reset electronically using the multi function display.

    Whats your reasoning on leaving the L/R Packs and APU bleed off ?

    • @BigIronTV
      @BigIronTV  8 років тому +4

      +Clarke Ramsey Hi. Very observant. I closed the ram air inlet doors during parking to keep the birds from building nests in inlet to the packs. I don't show it but when I do open the the ram air inlet doors and turn on the packs pigeon nest materials fly out of both pack exhausts. I will get to the packs a bit later in the preflight series. I am currently editing the footage. It will be a couple more parts yet. Hope to get them all posted over the weekend.

      the system with self check it first and if it finds a fault it will not start the start sequence.

    Thank you for these amazing videos :) May I ask a question: why is the fuel-shutoff battery in the cockpit? Is it very common for it to be disconnected for maintainable reasons, and will there be a need to access the battery inflight? Thanks :)

    • @BigIronTV
      @BigIronTV  6 років тому +1

      Hi, I don't know the reason for its location. There is normally no reason for it to be disconnected on a normal Boeing 777 because they are flying very regularly in an airline. In a private jet situation we do not fly as often and the battery will discharge over a few days with the plane not operating. So that is the reason this plane gets it disconnected when parking.
