Guys this was absolute quality. What a beautiful way to showcase real life for the Tunisian locals. Such warm people. Working with your hands and in a community sounds like the way humans are meant to live. Where you see direct fruits of your labour. True craftsmanship. Something so beautiful about the way people in rural communities live. You captured it beautifully and respectfully. All the feels in this one.
Ahhh thanks you two! Honestly, we were in our element making this video and this is really the type of content we are passionate about making. Real life and real people. You know you've made a video you're proud of when you want to watch it back like everyday to remember the feeling of being there and meet the people all over again!! Watching Arafat talk about being satisfied in life and what you have brings a tear to our eyes every time
This has to be the most original, most heart-warming tourist vlog in Tunisia I have seen, this really shows a totally different view of our country, and it made me miss the old days where everyone was happy and satisfied without technology.
Hi Zachary, you're right in a way. People live a lot more simple life in some of these towns and they are so happy despite not having much. We are so passionate about meeting people and connecting with locals to share their stories in places we visit, so we're glad we were able to do that in this video!
Well that was lovely! What a sense of community, something that is so sadly lacking these days, especially in the UK. Those people may not be financially rich, but seem to have a quality of interpersonal relationships that many of us can only dream of. The Tunisian warmth of character really shone through in this video. Oh, and as for lablebi, I personally went out of my way to avoid it when I was in Tunisia last week, I just can't bear soggy bread! 😆
Thank you Andy, really makes us happy to hear the video came across well and showed how lovely the Tunisians we meet are! Yes it does make you think about the UK in comparison and maybe a lack of community. Ha I think Courts will think the same although I would 100% have it again!
There are hundreds of vlogs made by visitors to our beloved country, but you guys have been just fabulous and different ,and maybe the best for people looking for a valuable content, the real human experience and that cheerful touch with locals, and btw in our south region it's in the veins to be humble, kind and generous, specially with strangers, Thank you and wish you all the best.
Thank you so much for this kind and wonderful comment. We are really passionate about showing the real side of the places we visit and not just the tourist attractions (although we will do a few of those too haha). Meeting people and building connections is an experience that can't be beaten!
I love Tunisia I can't wait to go back and visit I stayed there for two months while I visited and met my now fiance who still currently lives in Tunisia
Things common to my favorite nomad channels that ring true in this video: People everywhere are fundamentally the same. The warmth and welcome of a genuine smile transcends language. More stuff isn't going to bring happiness. TL;DR - this episode gave me the feels. ☺️
Hey Aaron, thank you so much for this lovely comment! Makes us feel all warm and fuzzy that you compare us to your faves! This is exactly the message we want to get across, we love meeting new people and virtually every time they are welcoming, friendly and just want to make sure we have a good time in their country. Hope you're doing well and having a good start to your week!
Honestly, ever time we watch this video back we can't stop ourselves smiling, laughing and a little tear in the eye thinking of how kind and open and giving Arafat and his family were. Eventhough we paid to stay on the campsite, they gave us so much more and we think everyone should know an Arafat in their lifetime. One of our favourite people we've ever met on our travels!
You guys are absolutely the loveliest couple I ever seen on U tube. I was born in Tunis now living in the US and watching your vlogs are making me want to go back home and rediscover. it through your eyes. And that is how impactful your videos are. Thank you for sharing your adventures. PS the Tunisian Tourism Minister should hire you for a "Come visit Tunisia" Campaign.
Thank you Elizabeth! We absolutely love throwing ourselves into these places and getting fully immersed with the locals. It's our favourite type of video to film so we're glad it's one of your favourites to watch too!
Wow Sally that's so incredible that you found the video so emotional! We absolutely loved every minute we spent with Arafat and his family, as well as in the town of Kebili. It will always have a special place in our hearts and we can't wait to go back and see them again one day!
what an inspiring vlog guys. I travelled around world with Mandy in the merchant Navy and totally agree how enlightening it is to experience new places and cultures. Keep travelling and opening peoples eyes to the wonderful people of this world. xx
Hey Steve, thank you so much for the lovely words! That is what we want to do, show people different cultures, different cities and things they might not expect. Hope you are well and having a good start to the year!
Wow Drew, thank you so much for the lovely words! We're so happy you enjoyed watching it and meeting these people too! Hopefully more of this type of content to come from us!
Ah Keith this is such a lovely comment, thank you so much! We really appreciate you taking the time to say this and we love having you along for the journey!
@@courtsandmeeks I did not mean to be so self promoting by inviting you to our home.. If it happened it would not be on camera or detailed as this was not my intention. It was just meant as a friendly gesture as we like to have visitors but it is our home not a buisiness. None of us know what the future holds for us so Insha'allah you one day get to visit this great country. 😊
Thank you Kaies for welcoming us to Tunisia! We have enjoyed our time in the country so much and we have a lot more content to edit and upload of all the other places we visit
@@courtsandmeeks Tunisia is a very pretty country Sahara mountain the sea, the people are so tender and simple especially in the south it is true that there are bad guys but they are minimal the big problem its leaders responsible and especially the politicians who do not want the good for our fatherland. Tunisia 🇹🇳 is a paradise I love my country and you are welcome
It is sad that the young people dont want to work in the wonderful world of craft and tradition. Old ways are often the best! Great video and wonderful to see you enjoying life there. Also like your attitude and warm personalities ( I believe this is what you give and that is why you receive back big time) Loving Tunisia and can not wait to visit in Oct. Thankyou.
Thanks for the lovely comment Keith! Yeah wit was so interesting to hear about the issues with work. It was so good to see the crafts at work and it would be amazing if there were people to carry those skills on. Thank you so much for the love, we totally believe being open to people opens them to you and feel that is one of the reasons why we've had a really lovely time here! Hope you are well!
@@courtsandmeeks Thankyou for replying. My Mrs Cath and I live in Morocco after coming here for years from UK inbetween work, family commitments etc. Saved, lived frugally and bought house here 2005. Here is our home though we still like to take a trip to see other countries now and then. Totally get your enthusiam when discovering Tunisia. It was like us with Morocco back in the day! Has changed here a lot, the mountains are our favourite places though we live nearer the coast but not touristy. Tunisia reminds us in many ways of Morocco. Not surprising as part of the Mahagreb region's. People especially. Have us welling up many times with the overflow of warmth that we see and experience. The carpeter and Arafat/family.....Classic. Beautiful hearts and minds. We are so happy for you both. May you continue in the love that you have and experience more joy wherever you go. Love from us both Cath and Keith. (If you ever come to Morocco you are Welcome to our home) Mahaba bikum 💫 Meanwhile we will continue to watch and share your wonderful travels with you. 👍✌️
@@keithbrandon8540 Hey Keith and Mrs Cath :) thanks for the invite! We would love to meet if we ever come to Morocco. Currently it looks as though the internet might be a bit patchy for us working 3 days a week set hours for UK employers so I don't think it will be this year :( Very cool that you guys have made a life out there. It's a dream of ours one day to have roots somewhere in the sun with a great community but for now we don't see ourselves stopping travelling anytime soon!
@@courtsandmeeks Yes keep up the travelling long as you can and on the way you may find somewhere for the future as a base. We no longer drive and a base works for us here but we still travel. Even back to Uk to see our grown up family and grandkids. Yes we are not spring chickens but try telling Cath that!! She travelled with her kids here in the 80's first with an ambulance (converted) then with a 29 seater Bedford Duple bus. Atlas mountains, everywhere. That is when she knew she would come back hence we here! Dreams can come true if it is meant to be. Bye for now and look forwardcto seeing what you get up to next. By the way, we watched all of your channel. Fabtastic!! 👍👋👌

Hey John, hope you're doing well this week? Arafat our guide was the nicest and most humble person, always willing to give his time and knowledge - one of the most selfless people we have ever met. Can't wait until we can meet him and his family again on another trip. I have definitely tried one of the shisha pipes before, we actually have one ourselves that we bought in turkey and carry in the van for the odd occasion. No hard drugs in it though - just mollases (like sugary flavoured tobacco). So glad you enjoyed seeing the different culture and meeting all the local people with us this week. Take care of yourself John and speak soon!
@@courtsandmeeks - I converse in the same manner too and it works for me, doesn’t help them, but heyho. A big massive smiling face always overcomes any language barrier
Thank you Steve! Yes folk are folk wherever you go! We're really glad that this came across here. Hope you are doing well and having a good start to the year!
Thanks Fiona, it was amazing to meet everyone in the town. There was no need to feel brave in all honesty, yes it was a bit scary with the language barrier but it is amazing how far a smile and the odd word in the local language can take you. Hope you are doing well x
Our pleasure Lynn! Thank you so much for watching :) we really wanted to show the real life day to day in a typical town and I think it came together really well. We were proud of it!
Another wonderful video of your adventures in Tunisia, showing just how warm-hearted the people are there. I think for young people there are a majority that want to go out and explore even possibly raise their "status " . Then you have the few that want to work in the trades or with their hands. Thanks again for inviting us along on your journey
Thank you for the lovely comment! Honestly makes us very happy to know that the video is well received and it showed how lovely Tunisians are. Yeah that makes sense about the young people for sure. You are most welcome to join us on every trip we do! Hope you're well!
Glad you enjoyed Andy! Meeks loved geeking out on all the local knowledge and history of the town. We'll definitely try to share more of that in the future as well as the local life and interactions in the places we visit. It's our favourite type of video to film!
You two are definitely a class act 🎬. A great vlog amongst lovely people. I love the comment at the end about people, my thoughts exactly. Thanks for sharing. 👋
Glad you enjoyed it Neil! We absolutely loved filming this one - its our favourite style of video to capture when we meet and interact with local people (and maybe hope to change a few perceptions of certain cultures or faiths around the world when others see how lovely everyone is here!)
Hey, wow what a memorable trip for you guys, visiting the local towns is always the best experience. Tunisian society and culture is so great and that food look delicious too. We've been in restaurants like that in Turkey and the food was really great too. Those palm trees 😍 Great video. Take care xxxx
Thank you for the lovely comment! We absolutely loved this day, everyone was so friendly and welcoming to us. Yeah the food is so good and the culture of how they eat and share is just so heart warming! Hope you are doing well xxx
WOW! Thanks so much for the support of the channel John! This will go into our little camera gear kitty ready for when we need to replace something. Very generous, thank you!
Thank you for making a great and genuine video about my home town Kebili (I currently live in Tunis). It was heartwarming to see how you connected with locals. Their hospitality is exceptionnal and they would easily share their food and homes with you. I always believe that traveling the world and knowing people from different cultures makes us realize that we are all the same, if all people were able to travel the world I guarantee it would make this planet miles better and we would forget something called war forever. Just to clarify some points about Kebili : - It's not a rural town, it's a city, it's even the center of the state (governorate). - I see no point in using the word muslim in the title, it's like saying a christian town in Italy. - About the cafés, yes as you mentionned in the comments it's still regarded as not that appropriate for women to go to cafés in some rural towns, but in Kebili there's an increasing number of mixed cafés. Men's cafés are those small and popular ones. - I saw in one of your shorts that you ate Mtabga in the old town of Kebili, I was hoping you would include the historical old town in your video because it's so charming and surrounded with thousands of palm trees, it's the true heart where everything started, but I guess you enjoyed your time there. Thank you again for showing this beautiful side in your video, and thank you for being genuine, warm and lovely!
Hi Jihed, thank you again for your long comment. You take the time to share your thoughts with us and we appreciate it. We completely and whole heartedly understand why you may not feel it was necessary to iinclude Muslim town in the title of the video but let me explain why. You will know that in some parts of the world there is a big misconception and misjudgement caused by negative media about the Muslim faith and muslim people in particular. By including 'muslim town' in the title of our video and showing a welcoming, happy and smiling man on the thumbnail picture we hope to instantly make people question their misbeliefs about the people of Muslim faith. Kebili is a majority muslim town in what we would consider a rural area (compared to what we're used to back home anyway) hence why this felt appropriate. Definitely not trying to single people out or in any way negatively portray the muslim faith, actually the opposite, we want to unite people and show that we are all human, despite what belief system you are assigned to :) We did visit the old town of kebili and it was lovely but also very broken down due to people taking the stones to rebuild new houses in new kebili (so we were told by the cafe owner and poetry lady there). So there wasn't much left there that visually would have made it easy to tell a story on video. We had so much footage from the town and the hot spring that we decided to have the old town experience just for ourselves. Thanks again for your support and comments, it means a lot to us that you would take time to share knowledge with us here! We are in Tunis now staying in an Airbnb until Saturday to get work done actually. We want to go into the centre of the city to explore and make a video about how it compares to the south and towns like Kebili so our viewers can see both sides of the country. Do you have recommendations of places to visit? Of course we will visit the Medina but where else can we see real local life?
@@courtsandmeeks Thanks for your answer, keep up the great work. As for Tunis City Centre, besides of Medina, there are its surroundings like Beb Elkhadhra Souk Sidi Elbahri, Beb Souika, Beb Jdid... There you will see the daily life of simple locals. Also the Habib Bourguiba avenue and its branches like Avenue de Paris, Rue de Rome, I recommend a small plaza called Place de la Monnaie near Rue de Rome, very charming, from there I recommend going to a historical pastry owned by an Italian family called Patisserie Garza, top ingredients (I strongly suggest trying their Frangipane), you have to go there before 11AM as everything gets quickly bought and after that mostly you won't find anything. Also you can go to Lafayette. Edit : be noticed that you'll stumble upon hasslers in the Medina and even in Avenue de France, they'll pretend to show you and help but they'll take you to their friends shop.
This comment makes our hearts happy! I think you can see from this video that we are so in our element in these situations and absolutely love showing the people we meet along the way and the connections around the world. These are the types of videos that really drive us! So so so glad you enjoyed it Yam. Hope you're keeping well and the Scottish winter isn't being too harsh? x
One of the best videos I’ve seen you upload! Thank you. Wonderful world, beautiful people! After spending our first ever weekend in our new to us home on wheels we have got a small taste of the life we want to lead - I totally get it. Love you guys! From Mr & Mrs B
Our pleasure Mr & Mrs B! How was your first weekend in the new home on wheels? Was it everything you hoped for? So excited for you! A new chapter starts now :)
@@courtsandmeeks we loved it! 3 nights on a site just to get used to things and then the fourth was a park-up in Arundel, West Sussex next to Arundel Castle- fantastic. Thanks so much Andy! We really aim to be humble and respectful in all of our videos despite running around like crazy tourists with big cameras pointing them in people's faces haha!
Maybe one day! unfortunately our videos are a few weeks behind real life to give us time to film and edit them before uploading so we are now in the North in Tunis for a couple of weeks before we have to leave Tunisia in March but we have lots more videos filmed in many places around the country :)
Great video and that's what travelling is really about But since u filmed this video in the south and in a rural town how about another video in the north in one of the big cities like tunis or sousse to see all the differences ? Also the coffee shops in Tunisia are divided in 2 categories: Popular coffee shops like the one in this video which are for men mostly with law prices and simple decor and than there is Mixed coffee shops for both men and women with higher prices and much better decor. Hope u were able to hold ur laugh when he introduced u to Mr Sisy lol
Hi Jihed, thank you so much for the lovely comment! This is a great idea and we're actually in the north now so this weekend we will head into Tunis and try and show the different side of the place to show life in the North and how it is different to the south. Ha yes mr Sisy, was that a joke? Or is that his name and he is just a funny guy? Thanks again for commenting!
Seriously, out of all the Tourism videos I've seen about Tunisia, these 2 couples just went all for it! absolutely marvelous, can't get enough of the series! feels like a netflix documentary at this point xD After all, despite the differences, things are still done the same way... 80% of Tunisia's 12 millions population lives within the coast, leaving almost all of the country sparesly populated, These rural desertic townies lives a very simple life indeed!
To welcome strangers or visitors to your home is in Tunisia is very common. Thats why the gemeinshaft is so strong there compared to our gesselshaft society in the west where you barely gets invited to homes. In Tunisia you have it all and i recommend all people who can afford to experience this amazing country and people.
We 100% agree! Such a welcoming and hospitable nature in all the people we met. We are so grateful to everyone who taught us something or shared a moment with us on this day and all our others in Tunisia.
Thanks for the sharing, it was so nostalgic to the rural towns of my beloved country. I used to do a lot of camping in the north / center of Tunisia and I meet the nicest people ever. Now I am in Europe, and you made me miss those days when everything was simpler and warmer..
Hey Jamel, we are so happy to be able to share our experiences with you. We absolutely loved our time in Quibili and all the towns and beautiful landscapes surrounding it. Where do you live now if you mention your beloved country? I get the impression maybe you are living somewhere else or not in the rural zone anymore?
Amazing vlog , so many amazing people you have met, you give so much great insight to the places and people, well done , you look like you are having a great time 😊x
Thank you guys so much for sharing this! What a wonderful man to take you to meet the locals, show you their ways of life, their businesses. Heartwarming ❤
Thanks a lot guys! We absolutely loved making this video. It's our favourite thing to film when we get to show the interactions with people and maybe even hope to change a few people's perceptions of certain parts of the world along the way. ... Now we're off to drink our morning coffee and watch your recent vlog on Marrakesh!!
hey guys i've been watching your videos for a while and i love them ! i was suprised to see that your came to kébili (sadly i didn't know about you visit till now) thank you so much for showing and apreciating my beautiful small town , you really gave a great insight to the real Tunisia and its many cultures .
Thank you for the lovely comment! We're so happy you are enjoying our videos in Tunisia! Ah we're so happy a local from Kebili has seen and enjoyed the video! We wanted to show how nice the place is and especially the people! Thank you for watching and be sure to tell everyone in Kebili about the video 😉
You are making very excellent reportages my friends, I've been following you since your first video in Tunisia, I love your storytelling, your spontaneity, and Arafat's message at the end of the video shook me up, we tend to forget what's important in life, our happiness, and we let ourselves be rendered by increasingly capitalist dreams ....
Arafat's message shakes us up every time we watch it to. I feel like any day we are feeling dissatisfied with life or craving a sense of "more" for no reason, we can watch back his wise words :) we loved making this video and hope to make more like it in the future, maybe in Tunisia but also all over the world
Thank you mum! We had such an amazing day! We couldn't believe how lovely everyone was and it was so nice to meet everyone. We feel very honoured and lucky to have experienced this. Love you xxx
Our pleasure! We absolutely loved this day spent in Kebili and were so happy to be able to capture it and share it. We hope to make more videos like this in the future, in Tunisia and around other parts of Europe and the world.
This was Amazing! So much heart in the video and in the makers of the video. Its like food that's made with love is always more delicious...this video was made with love!
Absolutely fantastic vlog! The experience felt so real, couldn't be anymore real than this! Such society and way of life is very rare nowadays where every face has a smartphone planted on it, Instagram, twitter, facebook etc #therealworld
Thank you! We absolutely loved this day and have such fond memories of the connections we made with people, even if they were fleeting and over in just a second to go and meet someone else or visit a new place. We really want to make more videos like this and share it with people more in the future :)
Hey Michele, i think the police and guard national would be a lot more protective of you and maybe move you on from wild parkups a lot more but you would be very safe in the country as a whole as everyone is very welcoming! There is a girl on Instagram in Tunisia travelling solo in her pink motorhome (drawing a lot of attention as you can imagine in a pink van! haha) called @awandersoul - her name is Esmee :) maybe she would be worth a follow so you can see how she gets on over the next couple of months. She only recently arrived in the country a month ago.
Thank you for showing all the different sides of Tunisia and all of the contrast . You are always very welcome to discover more about locals :) i would like to invite you to my home and show you around my city "Tozeur" but unfortunately, i live abroad . Enjoy your stay and greetings to my lovely Tunisia
Thank you! 😃 Maybe next time we are travelling to Tunisia you will also be here and we have the honour of meeting one another. We did not visit Tozeur this time (i dont know why but we were craving time in nature I think straight after we filmed this video in Kebili) so we went to Chebika and Mides canyons area to park our van and explore (this is the next video). Tozeur is on our list for the next trip.
Hey guys welcome to the City of quebili ... It was Amazing the trip with Arafat, he's a great person , and i wish you come back to cause there is too many places to discover on my hometown...
We loved every minute of our time with Arafat and Latifa. And Arafat taught us a phrase which we believe is very true. "Tunisia is like a sweet cake, never finished". We will return one day to Quibili and explore many more places.
Fan fact about lablabi that it's a winter food, we eat more in winter ( rarely in summer ) cause lablabi kinda makes u warm and you don't need that in summer 🤣🤣
Well i suppose that makes perfect sense haha! It was VERY spicy for us. Can see why people pair it with a glass of milk to cool the mouth down (unfortunately we don't drink cows milk haha!)
We have seen it too in the UK but I think it's less acceptable - like you would get a few funny looks in the supermarket in your fleecy onesie with micky mouse all over it. But here no one bats an eyelid!
Definitely would come back to Tunisia in the future! But first we'll have a break and go some place else. We just loved the orange colour of the van when we bought it and it kind of became an obsession!
Another great video ! you guys are so adorable and it seems like everyone there likes you Speaking about Cafés, I just wanted to clarify that it is not that women are not allowed to go to the cafés, but these cafés like the one you stayed in are just the typical "manly" cafés (men will be smoking and talking outloud and yelling "heyo !! bring me a coffee here !" and playing cards etc, you won't find a separation between smokers and non-smokers for example, because simply we're men, we don't really care about how fancy chairs are and how elegant the decor is, just wanna a bit of cafeine before heading to our work. There are other fancy cafés in Tunisia for couples and families and group of friends and these ones are looking much better (and most of the time even cleaner), that's where you will find sofas instead of plastic chairs and a separation between smokers and non-smokers and fancy spoons and cups and lexury service (ofcourse 1 coffee will cost you the double or triple comparing to "manly" cafés) And that man who guided you seems to be a very kind and wise man, god bless him and his family.
Thank you Rzigui - we had so much fun making this video and meeting all the people in Quibili. We know that there are also mixed cafes available but in the south in the rural areas they are very uncommon and we wanted to show our viewers from the UK that the majority of cafes you go past are like this one where women do not go. Arafat our guide even told us that in their town the older generation would find it shameful for the woman to go to those cafes because it isn't traditional, they are a mans place. It's very interesting to us to see these cultural differences. We are in Tunis now (as our videos are a few weeks behind) and there are a lot of mixed cafes and lots of young people enjoying them. We really appreciate you sharing your local knowledge with us and for supporting our videos. We hope you will still enjoy our travels when our Tunisia series is over and we go to explore other countries?

It’s not forbidden to women to go inside the coffee shop but, women they don’t like to go there because in these places some man say some bad words especially when they play card and they loose. So women feel discouraged to go there and hear bad words. But in the big cities things are different then that area which is more strict

Hey Patrisha, when were you here? Will you live in Tunisia when you and your fiance get married or move some place else?
Thank you so very much for supporting all those small businesses..🙏🙏🙏
@@courtsandmeeks well, I was brought here by Chapter by Chapter, so... 😁😁
Congrats on the 10k, btw!
@@Aaron-P aww we love those guys so much! Thanks for supporting all of us
"Live normal and you will be satisfied". So humble and wise. This man I would like to see and talk to some day. Lovely vlog as always. 🚐💨❤️
That's the best comment ever
You guys are absolutely the loveliest couple I ever seen on U tube. I was born in Tunis now living in the US and watching your vlogs are making me want to go back home and rediscover. it through your eyes. And that is how impactful your videos are. Thank you for sharing your adventures. PS the Tunisian Tourism Minister should hire you for a "Come visit Tunisia" Campaign.
Thank you so much!!that is extremely kind of you to say :)
Might be my favorite video of yours yet! Love how immersed you guys get!❤
Thank you Elizabeth! We absolutely love throwing ourselves into these places and getting fully immersed with the locals. It's our favourite type of video to film so we're glad it's one of your favourites to watch too!
Moved me to tears! What lovely people, wise words and a message for life. Beautiful filming capturing beautiful people.
Wow Sally that's so incredible that you found the video so emotional! We absolutely loved every minute we spent with Arafat and his family, as well as in the town of Kebili. It will always have a special place in our hearts and we can't wait to go back and see them again one day!
@@courtsandmeeks It really captured why I love to travel and why I love watching others travel too xx well done x
Another wonderful vlog, a window into real Tunisian life.
Thank you for the lovely comment! We're really glad it has helped show the real side of Tunisia! Hope you're doing well!
what an inspiring vlog guys.
Excellent Vlog…v insightful…thank you for sharing…👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it Kevin! We loved making this one - our fav kind of video to make is where we get to show interactions with locals
Very thought provoking and filmed beautifully. Thank you ...

Thanks For your coming in Tunisia and for your simplicity

Thank you Kaies for welcoming us to Tunisia! We have enjoyed our time in the country so much and we have a lot more content to edit and upload of all the other places we visit
@@courtsandmeeks Tunisia is a very pretty country Sahara mountain the sea, the people are so tender and simple especially in the south it is true that there are bad guys but they are minimal
the big problem its leaders responsible and especially the politicians who do not want the good for our fatherland.
Tunisia 🇹🇳 is a paradise I love my country and you are welcome
My favorite video of yours by far wow.
Thank you Paul! It was one of our favourites we've ever made too so that's good!!
Reminds me of ‘Allo Allo - loving the English words with a “french accent”…. so locals can understand better 😅😅😅
Nick you are so right! Our french and Arabic is so poor. Why do we think saying things with a franglais accent will help?! 🤣😜
@@courtsandmeeks - I converse in the same manner too and it works for me, doesn’t help them, but heyho. A big massive smiling face always overcomes any language barrier
Guys you did a great job you let us look to our home town with another vision really guys you made my day ❤
Your right in what you say, folk are folk wherever you go… it’s the small minority that cause the grief… peace love and good music to you both 😊

Wow incredible town and it's people, hopefully with your help with these videos Arafat and his family receive more visitors in the future😍
You are inspiring so nice to meet all the local people , very brave.
Thanks Fiona, it was amazing to meet everyone in the town. There was no need to feel brave in all honesty, yes it was a bit scary with the language barrier but it is amazing how far a smile and the odd word in the local language can take you. Hope you are doing well x
Love this! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Just to clarify some points about Kebili :
- It's not a rural town, it's a city, it's even the center of the state (governorate).
Definitely not trying to single people out or in any way negatively portray the muslim faith, actually the opposite, we want to unite people and show that we are all human, despite what belief system you are assigned to :)
We did visit the old town of kebili and it was lovely but also very broken down due to people taking the stones to rebuild new houses in new kebili (so we were told by the cafe owner and poetry lady there).
@@courtsandmeeks
Thanks for your answer, keep up the great work.
Edit : be noticed that you'll stumble upon hasslers in the Medina and even in Avenue de France, they'll pretend to show you and help but they'll take you to their friends shop.
welcome to the best places in the world #kebili 🔥
Hope you liked it!
We loved it! It was one of our best days in Tunisia so far!

Great video and that's what travelling is really about
But since u filmed this video in the south and in a rural town how about another video in the north in one of the big cities like tunis or sousse to see all the differences ?
Also the coffee shops in Tunisia are divided in 2 categories: Popular coffee shops like the one in this video which are for men mostly with law prices and simple decor and than there is Mixed coffee shops for both men and women with higher prices and much better decor.
Hope u were able to hold ur laugh when he introduced u to Mr Sisy lol

To welcome strangers or visitors to your home is in Tunisia is very common. Thats why the gemeinshaft is so strong there compared to our gesselshaft society in the west where you barely gets invited to homes. In Tunisia you have it all and i recommend all people who can afford to experience this amazing country and people.
We 100% agree! Such a welcoming and hospitable nature in all the people we met. We are so grateful to everyone who taught us something or shared a moment with us on this day and all our others in Tunisia.

We really want to make more videos like this and share it with people more in the future :)
Fabulous episode, really seeing the real life in Tunisia, I would love to visit, not sure as a lone female how I would be accepted?
Hey Michele, i think the police and guard national would be a lot more protective of you and maybe move you on from wild parkups a lot more but you would be very safe in the country as a whole as everyone is very welcoming! There is a girl on Instagram in Tunisia travelling solo in her pink motorhome (drawing a lot of attention as you can imagine in a pink van! haha) called @awandersoul - her name is Esmee :) maybe she would be worth a follow so you can see how she gets on over the next couple of months. She only recently arrived in the country a month ago.
Lovely insight into Tunisian life!
Thank you so much! These types of videos are our favourite to make :)
@@courtsandmeeks you are always welcome 🤗 good luck 🤞 from a big fan of your vlogs
In Liverpool you easily see people with pyjamas in the walking around or doing grocery at supermarkets not a bizarre thing in the UK too 😂
We have seen it too in the UK but I think it's less acceptable - like you would get a few funny looks in the supermarket in your fleecy onesie with micky mouse all over it. But here no one bats an eyelid!
Would you guys go back? Why all the Orange?
Definitely would come back to Tunisia in the future! But first we'll have a break and go some place else. We just loved the orange colour of the van when we bought it and it kind of became an obsession!
Another great video ! you guys are so adorable and it seems like everyone there likes you
Speaking about Cafés, I just wanted to clarify that it is not that women are not allowed to go to the cafés, but these cafés like the one you stayed in are just the typical "manly" cafés (men will be smoking and talking outloud and yelling "heyo !! bring me a coffee here !" and playing cards etc, you won't find a separation between smokers and non-smokers for example, because simply we're men, we don't really care about how fancy chairs are and how elegant the decor is, just wanna a bit of cafeine before heading to our work.
There are other fancy cafés in Tunisia for couples and families and group of friends and these ones are looking much better (and most of the time even cleaner), that's where you will find sofas instead of plastic chairs and a separation between smokers and non-smokers and fancy spoons and cups and lexury service (ofcourse 1 coffee will cost you the double or triple comparing to "manly" cafés)
And that man who guided you seems to be a very kind and wise man, god bless him and his family.
@@courtsandmeeks Sure I will do, glad that I found your youtube channel, you are creating an amazing content, keep it up
Any chance that a Lablabi shop in London works? 😂
Is there one in London?! or are you hoping someone will set one up? haha
Another great video 👍
You are deferent.
Lots of visitors will stay in resorts on the shores of the Mediterranean sea.
You guys opted to see the real Tunisia.
Mingle with the locals.
I’ve learned something new today 😉
45 thousands people and 450 thousands palm trees 🙂
Btw, Kebili is the 5th hottest town on Earth.
it hit 55 degrees centigrade
Regarding trees and da.
Tunisia has 82 Millions olive trees to 12 Millions people
Btw, We don’t have Muslim ☪️ Or Christian ✝️ Towns in Tunisia.
We live together.
Head to Djerba Island and you’ll see a Synagogue
A Church and a Mosque 200 m from each other.
You’ll see the same in La Goulette ( Saint Augustine Church next to a mosque )
Or in Tunis ( Cathedral Saint Vincent de Paul, Next to Grand Synagogue de Tunis and 5 mins walk to the Mosque in Rue De Carthage .
This is what people might think when they see the title of your video.
I know the reason behind it but trust me you’ll get treated well and people will look after you regardless of where you go.
That could be in Djerba Island who has Thousands of Jewish ✡️
Or Gabes who has lots of black Tunisians
Or any other town in the far North with resident with European skin colours.
Muslim, Jewish, Or Christians.
White, Mix race, Or black.
Amazigh ( natives ) Arab, Turkish, European ( Maltese, Sicilians ) Andalusian, Or Sub Saharan.
WE ARE ALL TUNISIANS.
Enjoy your selves.

Hi Tenast, thank you again for your long comment. You take the time to share your thoughts with us and we appreciate it. We completely and whole heartedly know that Tunisian's have a mixture of faiths whether Muslim, Jewish or Christian but I think you will also know that in some parts of the world there is a big misconception and misjudgement caused by negative media about the Muslim faith and muslim people in particular. Definitely not trying to single people out or in any way negatively portray the muslim faith, actually the opposite, we want to unite people and show that we are all human, despite what belief system you are assigned to :)

Hi!
I know you’re not trying to single people out or say negative things about Muslims.
I know well in advance why you done it any way.
I know what the media does not just to Muslims but to everyone one from all corners of the planet
Btw, I’m Amazigh-Tunisian but open to all major religion ✡️ ✝️ ☪️
But i’ve stayed loyal to the believes of my Ancestors
I’m a Scouser, Woman in pyjamas and hair rollers is a regular thing in Liverpool 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

It’s not forbidden to women to go inside the coffee shop but, women they don’t like to go there because in these places some man say some bad words especially when they play card and they loose. So women feel discouraged to go there and hear bad words. But in the big cities things are different then that area which is more strict
Thank you for commenting and explaining. We know that there are also mixed cafes available but in the south in the rural areas they are very uncommon and we wanted to show our viewers from the UK that the majority of cafes you go past or see in the towns or along roads are like this one where women do not go.
