lost it the first 20 minutes. I pressed the auto land and it shoots all the way too the sky and never came back. 😂
These Drones are not manufactured to specifications.. it's supposed to reach an altitude 150 feet but mine reached almost 400 feet..I hit the land button and packed it up.. and fled the park.
Mine did the exact same thing...Pissed me off. I'm still trying to figure out to simply hover (with my second one) without it drifting in any direction.

Ty, u brought me some decent info. U r right, no rates at all and definitely could use quicker rudder. Its an ok quad thats easily affordable but MOST IMPORTANT these make for an excellent unit to play battlecopters.

I completely agree, I have owned it almost 3 months and honest to god probably haven't had it in the air for more than 6 seconds before crashing. I gotta try the recalibration he spoke about

THIS DRONE IS SO FUN! Me and my dad had problems with it at first so I looked up a video and it was because the props were on wrong but now me and him play with it all the time

Just ordered one.. had to keep my Target acct open... I have been studying how to fly my DJI Mavic Pro.. as a noob I took a pretty big leap.. this one will give me some indoor practice... great flying in your kitchen! I'd have smashed it it 10 seconds.

Dude you are awesome, I suck at controlling drone, I bought one and it literally flew away outside, it went up and flew off at least 150' high and north it's gone with the wind, on someone's roof or yard. Worth the laugh with son. Thank you, I bought two so hopefully don't lose this one.

Awesome I'm just charging it up atm. My son got one for Christmas as well. Impressive and guys thanx for the warning about the auto landing. I too would've lost mine. And the calibration setting wouldn't have known. There's no English language in the instructions manual.

I picked up one of these today at Toys-R-Us during their closeout sale. I only paid 14 bucks for it. They had plenty more on the shelf, I might go back and buy several more to give out for Christmas or birthday presents to younger family members.

Thanks! It definitely takes some practice to fly these things in such a small indoor area, but keep practicing (outdoors in low wind, if you can), and you'll get the hang of it. :)
Ryan, your the best, but I must tell you about my experience with this drone, I bought mine from Walmart, wow, sharper Image, cool, they make great stuff, but mostly on the expensive side, so I dove in, charging the drone in my truck, didn't take to long, but when I put the batteries in the controller ( and they were installed correctly). After about 10 minutes waiting to get home , the controller started to smoke, oh sh--, peered is an understatement, took it back to Walmart, exchanged the drone, second one was ok till I was flying , auto land did nothing, tried everything I could think of , took it back to Walmart, got a third one, auto land didn't work , so I figured I could live with it, sent it up about 50 feet and it took off on it's own. Came down in one of my trees on my property line, and it landed right side up. Cool I thought , but I went to fly again and it had a bent shaft, I must have 45 drones , been in it a long time now, or since they've been out, and I have never ever ever ever bent a shaft on any of them , it fell through the soft pine tree , took it back to Walmart, done with this drone, junk junk junk, shame it really looked so cool, and I wanted it to work
Fred Houseal as far as I've seen, for what you're getting, these sharper image quads are the cheapest ones out there. I don't know which ones you're looking at
Daniel harman I'm not saying there drones were expensive, I'm saying by default sharper image products are, and sharper Image quality is usually good, but not so with the drone, I guess in leaping cost down, and I mean way down they made them cheap,
Fred Houseal I'm Shure they fixed the flyaway problems. I have a new DX-2 and looks a bit different and auto land works. but sorry for your trouble's. Hope that the problems are gone.

Man that was the craziest fastest flip I've ever seen on a microquad. Lol
I got mine from Walmart, the charging port on mine is different from yours. but it is the exact same drone. it is fun. I took mine outside today, and was able to get it to fly pretty high. It was fun. it is a blast to flip them.

Don't buy this drone. Look at the reviews on Amazon. This guy has no idea what he's talking about. A pretty good quad??? If I was this guys brother and I went to him and asked if should buy this he would tell no it's garbage. This drone is garbage.

I almost bought this a few months back at Wal-Mart when it first came out. but I figured I'd wait until you reviewed it personaly.:-)
And now that you've seen my review, are you more or less tempted to buy it? I think it's a decent quad, but I'm not really sure I'd recommend it over so many other options out there, unless you just really wanted something you can buy in a local brick-and-mortar store.
Lol, the fun factor of real life shopping is a big part of my interest in it, that plus you uncompromising on the facts style reviewing leads to my purchase of this one:-)
I hear ya! I often go to Toys R Us, just to look at stuff, and often can't help but at least buy SOMETHING! lol I'm a big kid, with a bit of disposable income, so now I can afford to buy the toys I always wanted when I was younger. haha The super-tight flips of the DX-2 alone make it a fun one. :D

I Have One Of These but i lost the spare propellers and the blade guard and the instructions, not sure if it had any instructions, but i learned how to steady it, thanks im leaving a like on the video.

I got this drone 2 days ago I unboxed it and it seemed pretty easy to fly as opposed to the other one I tired flying that shit had a mind of its own. The 4100x is awesome from a tech p.o.v but from a first timers p.o.v it's just crazy asf
This is new to me. I love it . It can take a beating in crashes & live. The guard does nothing.
The guard is more about protecting the props, and keeping them from hurting someone or furniture, etc.
Patrick Parker lol i just got one as a gift and mine didnt even come with a guard. its my first one but usually im pretty careful and atleast it came with the extra propellers. not gonna complain about not getting the guard especially if it doesnt do much.
Looks like a nice little quad! I never have liked headless mode on anything… i've tried to use it no luck. Great review! I noticed yesterday that Sharper Image has a similar drone but it actually has the bat wing on top of it from Batman!
Yeah, headless mode is worthless. As for the Batwing, are you talking about the Propel Batwing? If so, I will be reviewing that tomorrow actually! :)
Flyin' Ryan RC yeah you're right it was propel. I was thinking it said sharper image on the box.... but definitely propel. Sweet I'm glad you're doing a review on it. I was thinking about buying one tonight. But I'll wait till your review comes out. :-)

I just got this one. It does fly real nice. The controller is very weird and 6 batteries is a killer. 1 thing that i do not like about it is that there is no way to change rates. There is only 1 rate, unless I'm missing something. I wish we can deviate this one. Then it would be a great quad.
I have one, after some practice i can glide through chairs and trees, although the batter on the copter barely lasts, and you have to be careful with the height. other than that it's pretty badass

Saw this at Walgreens today for 20 bucks ( half off) , I past on it until I could watch your video, glad I waited, while not bad the Eachine E010 still seems like a much better indoor flyer with removable battery , and cheaper too.
Note; I do not believe the 6 batteries in the Tx do anything for range. I have a Phantom and Spektrum DX , both only use 4 batteries and have half a mile+ range. That six battery design is actually linked to the old toy Tx's that took a 9 volt battery, Buy using 6 X 1.5v batteries they can keep the 9 volt circuit
This is my second micro in 3 days lol yep uh huh.. Ok shud up!! Just learning and have no clue. Already nose dived this one ( accidently) from about 30 yards up.. lol.. Oh well, it's fun wrecking them I guess!! thanks for the video it did help some.

Overall I really like this. I got two last year at Walgreens around Christmas time. How to make it better: 1. Make the transmitter smaller; 2. Put LEDs on the bottom instead of the top; 3. Put charging indicator on quad body so we can use any generic micro USB cable for charging. PS: By now why aren't more quads using standard micro USB so we don't need a drawer full of chargers with all different kinds of connectors?
Only thing going for it ,is the crazy ass flips lol you had me laughing tho. nice video. .
It is a pretty good flyer too though, but yeah, the flips are the real standout feature. :)
I just got one from WalMart today and I broke the prop guard within the first 10 minutes and one of the propellers broke too. Other than that for the price it's a decent drone. Just wish I had more space to fly it around.
i have a problem
with the drone.like i try to lift it up but it goes to radom place which i won't think of.
i just got one and so far im happy.my main bitch is the fact the bat cant be swapped which means at some point this is trash.rechargables have a limit on how many times they can be recharged before they wear out.

The auto land is recommended for 25-30 feet minimum height so if you try it in the house it will try and gain altitude, not a feature for inside the home.

I believe you mentioned in the beginning how it shoots up when you land, but I didn't see much of a jump when you landed it at the end. Do you have a video showing that as well? I don't have a very tall house and am new to drones.
I have the same quad when i use auto land it dose not fly up it goes down and in mid-air it drops and crashes
LOL So, either way, it doesn't work very well. haha

What size screws does this drone use to attach the thin plastic blade guard onto the top of the drone ?
Got it last night from Walmart. Admittedly a novice. Tried to do a quick test it in the house/safely indoors, but was afraid because I couldn't calibrate it to fly straight and it was dangerously flying toward us coming way too fast....Waited till next day. Took it outside to a clearing in the backyard. Hit the throttle once and it a flew up straight into the air maybe 400 feet and never came back down. Lost the damn thing. Never saw it land. It just kept lifting straight up in the sky until I couldn't see it anymore and the remote no longer recognized it.
Damn your a beast at flying this I just got me one I'm new to flying this smaller ones I'm used to flying DJI phantom 3 but this is similar to the controller it's just hard for me to keep it flying on like one level but great job man
Thanks! I have over 10 years experience, so I've had a lot of practice. haha Flying a quad without GPS or altitude hold is an entirely different experience than flying a Phantom. Just keep practicing and you'll get the hang of it. :)
I actually enjoy flying the ones with out hover and hold gps. Much more control when speed/stunt flying in a obstacle heavy environment.
can someone tell me how to keep it in the air because when i increase altitude it goes up and when i keep the knob steady it drops and if i go to high it hits my ceiling and what is the deal with the buttons on the left and right

Yeah, that is a washer/dryer stacked unit, which is common to find in small houses or apartments. :)

I had one of these, it was nice but something happened after a couple days and it wouldn’t fly right anymore. Decided to try the AirHogs DR1 micro racing drone next to it and much nicer. I’d like to see a review of it from you.
Hey did your dx 2 light up when you plugged it into charge?? I got one today and I'm charging it but i have zero lights
Jay Newb near the USB port there should be a red light once you plug it to the drone. When it's done then it will turn off.
the blade protector is hard to screw in but it is good to have on
I just got one
My drone crashed a couple times and I thought thought motors jammed. Turns out one wire from 2 motors disconnected, which is super lame because it calls out how crappy this drone is. I tried soldering it, by I'm not an expert so the gray thingy didn't melt properly and became non responsive. My drone is pretty much screwed. Idk what to do. Anything I did wrong?

hey Ryan I'm sure ur sick of these questions, but what's ur top recommendation for an indoor/outdoor small quad? not micro but the next size up.
Micro is as big as you'd want to go for indoors. There are few models that are good for indoor and outdoor. And I don't have one simple top recommendation, as there are many different uses and styles of flying, etc, so my favorites vary depending on my purposes. It's kind of like asking "what is the best vehicle for onroad/offroad"... well, there is no simple answer to that question. ;)
You make great videos.I bought a syma 107g and one of the sharper image dx-2 drones.I constantly crash the syma and the first time I tried the dx-2 it went straight to the ceiling and crashed breaking a blade I replaced it and now it won't lift off it just tilts to the side I ordered a syma x5c.Everything I have bought and tried I have no good luck with them.I think this is not what I can do.I enjoy your videos you make it look easy.

Hey man I swapped boards with gubsan Spyder. The rotors are all working and they feel like they've got a lot of power but for some reason I don't get any lift in several prop configurations...any thoughts as to why?
You sure the props are on it proper positions? I've never done anything like board swapping, so I am not familiar with the possible issues you may face.

Well, I wouldn't suggest *any* nano for a beginner. The smaller they are, the harder they are to fly, and the less durable/repairable they are. Did sharper image tweeked the DX-2? I noticed that the charging port and charger looks different compared to mines. The auto land works better as I never seen it rise for whatever reason. But still it flies well and really like the DX-2 and the review. Definitely the best buy compared to the DX-1

Flyin' Ryan RC I have the DX2 and the hover racer and several other small cheap quads I've been messing with just getting into the use of these machines and so far the dx2 and the hover racer are two of my favorites for cheap toy quads some of the others aren't very impressive lol keep up the good videos I'll be watching for more

Nauris Smirnovs It's impossible for me to say what your money is worth, but the X5C is a very good quad. My review should give you all the info you need to determine if it's worth it to you.
IBacon it looks useless yes but more batteries means more range potentially. Hubsan X4 H107L is what you want if you want to start with micro quads. It's fun to fly it is stable and it is impressively fast for its size.
My local Walgreens is selling these for $39.99 with 50% off for a limited period. I bought one and for a toy drone it flies nicely. Just wish it had 3 speeds - it has plenty of power

Mine doesn't do smooth take off. it's running around in all direction even after calibration. Any idea what the problem could be.
Are any of the props bent or highly damaged?
I have them lying around, Ryan, but it kind of irritated me that a micro screwdriver wasn't included with this model to assist in the installation of the prop guard ( I only use guards for indoor flights in case I have a momentary lack of reason. lol ). I picked up 2 of these units ( the last 2 ) at Big Lot's yesterday during Xmas clearance for a measly $15 bucks a piece, so I really have no room to gripe too loud. Know what I'm sayin' ?
Hi, i won one, but only red ligths appear, i need pairing with remote controller ? i`m without 6AA bateries now.
