Day #25 of the daily uploads 🙌🏻🔥
Appreciate it! 💯🔥
If you do happen to do catch 33 in the future just 2 things to know.
The drummer is not playing at all on this album. It's all programmed. You are welcome to look into that and why.
Also it is not really meant to be anything other than 1 long singular song... And you will find it very difficult to make sense or derive meaning from it if you experience it any other way than front to back. Loving the content! Thanks!
Drew nane a band there is more metal then Meshuggah...😀🤘
If you wish to experience the DEFINITIVE version of this song and ANY songs from this Meshuggah album *Nothing* - then choose the blue album art versions! The guitar was re-recorded with a brand new custom made 8 string guitar for Frederik Thordenal!!! That full sound you LOVE is much deeper in the BLUE album art version than the ORANGE album art version...
Vektor- tetrastructural Minds
Vektor-charging the void
Vektor- Recharging the void
The thing about Meshuggah is, it gets better the more you listen to it. You will hear stuff you didn't the first couple of listens.
First time I heard them in '98, I'm not gonna lie I was overwhelmed. Love Metal but whoa, I was not prepared 😂😂 Took a little getting used to but man after a few listens, I was all about the Shuggah 🤘🤘
Definitely true! It was such an odd form & foreign type of metal to me at first. Now they are literally one of my favorite bands EVER.
Top 5 band for me as well. I saw them 9 days after Violent Sleep of Reason was released in Atlanta, it was like no show I've seen before. You could see people just nodding their heads instead of mosh pits all the time. People were concentrating on what was happening in front of them, almost like they were in a trance. It was crazy.
First listen was Stengah. Hooked ever since. 🤘🏻
Very subtle too
Rational Gaze is one of those songs that hit harder than a bus but ANYONE can easily head bang to and have a great time with
You need to do the whole Catch33 album from start to finish.
I second, third, fourth, and fifth that
@@BrysonPagh to me, its like The Dark Side of the Moon of extreme metal. Very moving piece of music.
@@jasonmcf hmmm.. you know what I'd have to agree.
I just love the album. I'm sure I've listened to it front to back over a 100 times. I think the subject matter is just so poignant. To this day I still want to get a tattoo that states.." the struggle to free myself from restraints..becomes, my very shackles!"
@@BrysonPagh I was going to get the cover tattooed on me. Lol
Catch 33 is ridiculous, pure originality. Perfectly suited to its purpose. Nobody on the planet does it like Meshuggah period.
You need to see "Face of Wall Street" now. It's a short meme using this song and it wins the internet.
Yessssssss
Corridor of Chameleons is a very underrated neck snapper on Chaosphere
Chaosphere in general is like ground zero of djent. That shit came out in like '98 and still beats 99% of other bands to death
That's a banger right there. The shit for sure 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Finally someone talking about corridor of chameleons
Stengah and Perpetual Black Second are absolute bangers you'd love. And yeah...decide for yourself if you prefer original or remaster, both are awesome in different ways
Remaster is a better mix in my opinion. But the drums are programmed on the remaster if I'm not mistaken, so the original is more organic sounding. I still listen to the remaster usually though because it's easier on the ears.
I don't really like any of the mixes anyways lol.
@@thewildhealer541 Yeah, I usually listen to the Alive version because so far that's the one that's got the best production. I'm glad the dodgy production on the album didn't hold it back impact-wise but imagine if it had been mixed like the live version. One can only dream.
@@TheMetalfan123 yep agreed.
I love the original version. Feels like molten lava being poured over your skull compared to the more sterile remaster
@@bb-sw6ur Yeah I get that. Even though I prefer the others I still revisit it from time to time. That era was wacky as hell in the best of ways.
Rational Gaze is THE song that got me into Meshuggah back in 2003. It has been a long time! 🙂
Spasm is a highly underrated song from this album. Totally worth
My fave song from Nothing
I love spasm
Heaviest song on the album
Dude fuck yes perpetual black second is fucking BADASS. 100% banger of a track mate, straws pulled at random is also a close tie with that one. You’ll love it
I (Perpetual Black) second that.
Abso-lutely
MY HATE FOUND IN ITS REITERATION
Listen to Vildhjarta “Masstaden” or “Thousands Of Evils”. I would recommend starting with tracks such as “Dagger”, “Eternal Golden Monk” “Deceit” and “All These Feelings”. Both albums are meant to be listened through as a concept piece, but the individual tracks of “Masstaden” are a strong listen on their own! If you love Meshuggah, there’s a good chance you’ll love Vildhjarta.
PLEEEASE!!!
A very good suggestion! All These Feelings is my favorite from them.
this is also another fav album of mine
Hahaha my thoughts exactly..🤘😀
I'm a simple man. I see Drew + Meshuggah, I click.
(MARROW though... :D )
Rational Gaze has got to be one of my favorite Shuggah songs. So heavy, so f'n unique, so badass. You should check out the video. So trippy. Clockworks next 🤘🤘
Meshuggah is the quantum physics of Metal 🤘🔥💯
Vildhartja - den helige angen
What an absolute song. One of the heaviest and most not linear songs I've ever heard.
Dude, I'll never stop saying this... Listen to Catch 33. The breakdown in Dehumanization will melt your face
Lets get some Uneven Structure frost/hail!!
Yes!!
Awaken/Frost/Hail as the single video version!
That or 8 EP
please react to this song i will be very happy its my fav djent band by far
Yes 🤩
Leprous
You really need to listen to
Meshuggah - In death is life/in life is death!!!!!!
Thats a huge YES!!🤘
he needs to listen to entire catch 33 to make that song the most impactful
This song just makes me think of Leo DiCaprio now
Car Bomb - Gratitude
Textures - Shaping a Single Grain of Sand
Between The Buried and Me - Astral Body
I think you should check out the band Erra, i have no doubt you will love them. Djenty riffs, catchy chorus, heavy breakdowns, they have it all. House of Glass or Snowblood would be a good place to start.
Check out ISIS man. 'Not In Rivers, But In Drops' or 'Holy Tears'. Great band I know you'll like.
Pliable foe. Used to listen a lot.
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
Periphery Make Total Destroy
Rivers of Nihil The Silent Life
Vildhjarta is a band you need to hear!!!!
“All These Feelings”
*THIS.*
Check out both “Masstaden” and “Thousands Of Evils”!
Hell yeah this song 😆
I swear you have the most badass metal reaction channel ever!! 🤘
I was just about to recommend this after watching another one of your meshuggah reaction videos. Posted one day ago, great timing!
STENGAH. NOW. LIVE VERSION.
FINALLY! Ive been waiting on this one.
Yay, I spotted my profile pic at the start 🤣
I'm so happy you've done this, and really glad it rocked your world. Such a relentless beast of a track.
Loving the vids, as always. Cheers man!!
Ayyy I know you already know cause you mentioned Car Bomb at the end and you've liked a few of these past, but better put it down again for good measure eh? ;)
"Nonagon" by Car Bomb
"Philistine Philosophies" by SikTH
"I, the Destroyer" by Monuments
"Repugnant" by The Odious
The reaction today was great. Keep up the great work dude!
Car Bomb and The Odious are secret GOATs of metal
I'm starting to automatically imagine shaker-elon's whenever I hear meshuggah xD
IDK... I really think the blue one sounds better. There's parts of the yellow one I like, but overall I prefer the reissue.
Saw them live at Ozzfest 2002 and as soon as they finished their set, I immediately turned and bought this album. Please react to "Closed Eye Visuals", that's my favorite track off this album
By far my favourite meshuggah album. Please check out Closed Eye Visual or Nebulous (has THE heaviest breakdown I’ve ever heard IMO)
Been waiting for this one lol
Spasm! The title is the most accurate description of how the song sounds. There's a part in the middle that's an absolute mind fuck lol. So damn good!
super groovy, THANKS FOR THE AWSOME CONTENT!
Damnnnn it made you change the intro lol
BLACK COMEDY: Subtle Conversion(Sic Transit Gloria Mundi). 💎💠
Fucking hear you on the routine front, and thank you so much for putting out so much content. It's kept a routine for some of us watching too
I highly recommend "Dimmu Borgir - The Insight and the Catharsis"! It's a such a well-structured and beautiful metal song, and it is also still aggressive. It's nothing like modern Dimmu Borgir, I think you'd love it.
Great tune , nothing is in my top 3 meahuggah albums , always felt it was one that alot of people overlook , but its awesome 👌
Finland needs some love; Wheel - Movement. Or pretty much anything from their sick debutalbum Moving Backwords. Strong Tool-vibe so you will enjoy it!
Humiliative - Meshuggah. Get some of their early early stuff on here.
For new bands, Vildhjarta - Dagger
God, the snare sound on this album was so fucking great
I absolutely know its a long shot, but Death - Perennial Quest would be absolutely nuts.. I know its death metal but its actually pretty progressive and ends in a beautiful guitar set. Came out in 1995, off the album Symbolic.
You listened to the right version 👍 the remastered is good but the original album is perfection
Whole Nothing album & Catch 33 💦
Keep up the great content dude
Don't forget Lamb of God Drew my man - the whole of the album Ashes of the Wake is one of the best metal albums of all time. Recommend the song Hourglass to start
Keep em coming
About fucking time!!
React to Nebulous and Spasm which are the some of the earliest extreme down tuning ever done in metal scene.
i dont think he'd like nebulous tbh, he didnt like the slow drone-y parts of electric red which is basically nebulous. he should listen to more old meshuggah for more uptempo songs
@@MattMajcan I think he should musically mature to listen to modern Meshuggah.
Secrets within car bomb! Good stuff man by the way.
You seriously need to do the Thomas Haake Clockworks drum video. Soooooooo good.
I'm still here to suggest Stengah
The Lone Deranger ans All These Feelings from Vildhjarta. I'd also recommend Regnar Bensins and Benblåst, but they're much shorter and don't give that clear a picture of what Vildhjarta was.
Rivers of Nihil- The Silent Life
Gojira on steroids
Definitely should check out the band Loathe (like a meshuggah deftones hybrid) especially the song Broken Vision Rhythm. I dare you to not get wrapped in that song my dude!
Porcupine Tree - Russia On Ice, Steven Wilson - Home Invasion/Regret #9 next please!
Uneven Structure! Frost/Hail! 🤘🤘
Finally! One of my fave tracks from meshugga. Just a groovy track.
Corridor of chameleons or Do not look down by Meshuggah
you should react to one off their first album that people seem to ignore for some reason, maybe paralyzing ignorance, or cadaverous mastication
For your next tesseract pick, I think you need to check out Juno, but you need to have to couple it with Orbital because it serves as a perfect intro into Juno
Spasms everytime I listen to this because of the music video.
Ata boy at last!!! Check for fun wolf of wall street rational gaze! Perfect!
YES. This song is what I play to fuck with my friends who hate metal lol
A sugest: anything from brazilian band called Nervosa. Check the girl's anger, Drew. they're awesome.
Meshuggah - Concatenation from the rare trax album is one of my favorites. Heaviest meshuggah riffs Imo
David Maxim Micic - Ego (an EP but a 22 minute continuous song as well)
Hey Drew. This might be a bit of a stretch, but I hope you at least consider my suggestion. Meshuggah’s Catch 33 is essentially one 47min song, subdivided into tracks for easy indexing (like TesseracT’s Of... songs you just did). Like if you’re not paying attention you won’t know when one track stops and the next starts. Would you do the whole thing in one vid? Split in 2 parts? You’ll freaking love it mate.
theres some sick tunes on their album catch 33 - dehumanization entrapment, in death - is death... so on. id love to see you react to some!!! as always, amazing reaction!!!
Perpetual Black Second is THE BANGER of the album.
Closed eye visuals!!
My favorite Meshuggah tracks:
Nebulous
Corridor of Chameleons
New Millennium Cyanide Christ
Neurotica
Future Breed Machine
Beneath
Rational Gaze
Straws Pulled at Random
Stengah
Spasm
Lethargica
Obzen
Dancers to a Discordant System
Demiurge
Break Those Bones
Spasm and Stengah are insanely good!
I don't know if anyone has recommended this band, but Fear Factory is a great one to check out. Especially their albums Demanufacture and Obsolute. Shock or Self Bias Resistor are some pretty good jams.
Man I loved fear factory during this era of their career! I think securitron from them and demons name is surveillance from shuggah are basically the orwellian soundtrack to our plausible future
@@BrysonPagh Hell yeah. I don't know if Dino had heard any of Meshuggah's stuff when they were writing in the 90's, but a lot of his riffs definitely have a groovy vibe that are right up there with the Swedes'.
If you're gonna do Gojira next tho Art of Dying is a MUST
Aah, a classic! 🔥🤘🏻 Stengah 😉
And I also highly recommend another swedish band called Orbit Culture, it’s like Gojira and Metallica gave birth to a baby on steroids. Songs: Saw, Redfog, Mute the Silent to name a few.
You know what's funny is early Meshuggah to me is like if tool + metallica had a baby. By chaosphere maybe earlier... That is no longer the case
So true! 👍🏻 Haha, yeah. They went bananas on us at some point 😅🤘🏻
If you think Meshuggah is heavy, listen to Humanity's last breath, also from Sweden (of course)
Check out Volumes - Edge Of The Earth or Wormholes
I've been spamming this for awhile. Saw my name a few times in your list. Now you can check out the remastered version on your own time. And also, Meshuggah Face of Wall Street. You will love it.
Perpetual Black Second and Spasm would be amazing to see.
the only way to "safely" headbang on a meshuggah track is by following the hi-hat. there is always a ts ts ts ts ts ts in the background, you can't go wrong following that.
You NEED to check out Ministry thieves live... They're brilliant
Corridor of Chameleons!!! ✨🤘🤗
If you react to Stengah, do check out the 2006 re-release 'cause they re-recorded the whole album with 8 strings instead of the down-tuned 7 strings.
I'd like to suggest humilative from the Alive album
listen to By The Ton you’ll LOVE IT Drew!
Love it! Now, let's go Corridor of Chameleons! 😍💪
Sick!! Meshuggah never fail! Haken Haken Haken. The Architect, Veil, Carousel, Falling Back to Earth, 1985
Vildjharta Dagger is gnarly with several time changes
the best meshuggah album
Since you mentioned Car Bomb, I think Gratitude would be a good starting song for them! Think if Deftones and Meshuggah had a baby....
Car Bomb is the endgame for all metal reactions lmao. Almost no one gets to them even after doing Meshuggah and Deftones
Pretty much my two favorite bands. Looks like I should get around to diving into Car Bomb once and for all.
@@TheMetalfan123 You wont really miss other bands after hearing Car Bomb's discography
I love carbomb like crazy but don’t enjoy the singer nearly as much as chino or Jens but their musicianship is on another level for sure
Demiurge my bro...and absolute banger.
If you want underrated and heavy song from Nothing album then listen to "Nebulous".
Fuck yeah!
Yes! Car Bomb!!
Lower the Blade goes so. fucking. hard.
The best song ever of meshuggah!!
do something from Violent Sleep if Reason album please!!!!
Finally. Perpetual Black Second plzzzz
