This is an excellent animation and I've never seen a sequence on subduction that goes into such detail. There are many other versions out there but many depict subduction in different ways, which can be very confusing. This version is based on the latest scientific evidence from top Earth scientists and animators. As a producer of science visualizations myself, I am very appreciative of the time and effort that has gone into this and would highly recommend this visualization to educators and students of Earth science.

I would have spent some word on carbon recycling at subduction zones (not only hydrogen) and I would have preferred to see two convecting systems, interrupted at the mantle transition zone (i.e., one in the uppermost 670 km and the other from 670 to 2900 km).
