    i wish i could go back to school and be in your class. you make learning fun. All i had was a lame ass teacher who made me memorize a variety of peak tops names and their size in KM while i could never really remember anything because she said to every question 'jus because that is how it is' and i had to settle for that. ugh! such teachers should be kicked out

    I don't believe this is really BASIC and definitely not to be used as an introduction to this material! Maybe for a college-level geology class, but my poor middle school Earth Science class was confused!

      All the Earth Rocks videos were designed for college-level earth science classes. If you follow the link in the description, you'll learn more.

    Clearly we need to (determine) the puppeteers who claim to deliniate the region of the Asthenosphere. What form of geoAuthoritarianism do you submit t?

    Wait, continental crust can’t subduct but continents can?

    • @EarthRocks
      @EarthRocks  5 років тому

      Continents are continental crust. They don't subduct because they are less dense than anything else.

    This is what two preeminent geophysicists have to say about convection.

    MANTLE DYNAMICS AND PLATE KINEMATICS
    Carlo Doglioni, La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy
    Roberto Sabadini, University of Milan, Italy
    ". . . . . none of the proposed models of mantle convection can account for the simpler pattern in plate motion we observe at the surface, nor has a unique solution been proposed for how material in the mantle convects. At the moment there is no way to link mantle dynamics and plate kinematics at the surface, considering that the mantle and lithosphere are detached. The Atlantic and Indian ridges are in fact moving apart with respect to Africa, proving not to be fixed both relative to each other and relative to any fixed point in the mantle. This evidence confirms that ocean ridges are decoupled from the underlying mantle."

    Holy Quran 27:88
    And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do.This is the meaning of miracle. How Quran knows this 1400 years ago?

      +SM Abtahi LOL, you are so out of touch with reality.
      This happens when you get raised in religious family what also got raised in religious family and grow up with people who are all believing in same fairy tales.

    • @smabtahi7905
      @smabtahi7905 7 років тому +2

      OK! So you believe that "mountains moving" is a fairy tale! which I learned from my family.
      So escape from the truth. Nonetheless, you may not change it.

      I actually thought it very interesting what the original post says: that moving mountains (plate tectonics) made its way into the writings of religions and holy books, suggesting our ancestors and their past stories/histories included some insights that corroborate what we have learned today.

      Well, actually to me it looks like Quran is authentic and coming from God and God is giving us clues in his book. He is proving that his book is authentic and coming from Him because there is no way that people of its time of revelation could know about Earth's interior and what is happening beneath the surface.
