The new Amphibia book based off of Marcy Wu's journal has a surprising cliffhanger ending teasing the possibility of Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright and Marcy Wu actually being able to RETURN to Amphibia thanks to the help of Terri! Is this setting up something bigger?! A sequel or new movie?! Let's break it down!

It's pretty ironic that Anne and sasha, who still lived near each other, drifted apart, but they both stayed close friends with marcy, who Moved far away.
It makes sense that Anne and Sasha drifted apart since their friendship was very toxic. This isn't really the case with Marcy so it's not surprising that Anne and Sasha continued being close friends with Marcy.

Anne, Sasha, and Marcy all drifted apart from each other, yet still remained friends in spite of this.
if the portal isn't strong enough to go through it could work as a communication device for them to speak to sprig and other friends in Amphibia, most probably through Anne's old phone.
I want to believe that Anne, Sasha, and Marcy have the stones powers inside of them, as Mother Olm said that the powers are rightfully theirs.

@@viucism . Other Amphibia fans, including Roundtable said that the girls still have their powers inside of them, because Mother Olm said the powers were rightfully theirs. There’s a chance the calamity energy is still in their bodies and haven’t been awakened yet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that the last entry in the journal is setting up for their return to Amphibia. And besides, I think it's sounds like an awesome movie. Not only will be amazing to Anne, Sasha, and Marcy finally reuniting with their friends and family from Amphibia but also to learn more about the history of Amphibia. Plus, Sprig and Polly meeting Lief and Barrel would be insane.
Also maybe some more context on Andrias’ descent into madness. It felt a little rushed in the show

Next to Season 1 and Season 2, Season 3 is two episodes short with just an 18-episode order. Matt Braly stated in his Amphibia-closing live stream on Cartoon Universe with the voice actors for the Plantar family and Mrs. Croaker, that it is because he never made the Season 3 Halloween special episode to lighten the workload and spare more of the Season 3 budget for later episodes. It would be another Halloween stories anthology like The Shut-In, but taking place in the home of the Boonchuys instead of the Plantars. Even if that went into production, Season 3 would still have 19 episodes, not 20.
Another very suspicious thing that I noticed with Season 3 being slightly shorter than Seasons 1 and 2, is that the first two seasons both have a penultimate episode about a musical talent show contest - Fiddle Me This and Battle of the Bands. I thought Season 3 would do the same thing by giving us another musical talent contest in Earth instead of Amphibia, but it never came and the BlackPink song from All In was its closest replacement. Matt Braly can solve both of these problems at once if he completed Season 3 several years after the end with a two-episode reunion special in which Ally and Jess invite their subscribers to enter a musical talent contest video they are hosting, which is also how they generate enough music power to make Terri's portal larger for Anne, Marcy and Sasha to reunite with all of their friends from Amphibia.
The journal is supposed to be canon I believe. I think it's very obvious they were implying that they possibly had a way to return to amphibia. I think it was just intended to get you thinking and dream up a happier ending to amphibia. I don't think they are ever going to reference it again or act on anything there.
It's a shame so many will scroll passed this show simply because it's an animated kids' show or will stop watching it because they get bored of the "filler" episodes in season 1. They're missing out on so much. A good story is a good story no matter the medium by which it is told. I can't wait to see what Braly creates next and hope to be able to see these characters in a new form at some point. Regardless of its structure, Amphibia is one of the great stories of our time.

No it didn’t lmao, why don’t people get this, all it did is made it easier to do a spin-off if they ever got one, and if they don’t then it makes it very easy for fans to have their own headcanons.
What is a spin-off ??
What would be the reason behind a potential movie cause if it’s just a reunion type deal then that’s not enough content for a whole movie it’ll need some sort of story and a potential new villain. The girls are now adults and can definitely take care of themselves especially Sasha and the people of amphibia are all grown up too.
Yeah, that makes me think that the story will most likely be a prequel.
The temple thing has to be explained along with the circumstances surrounding ivy’s dad, Maddie’s mom, and sprig and Polly’s parents. The question is are Polly and sprig’s parents good people and if they lived will they destroy Amphibia?
@@joshuahecht6866 those plot points don’t deserve a movie. Hop pop never said anything of the sort if their parents were terrible people. Side characters like Maddie and Ivy don’t deserve a movie either cause of “missing” parents. That’s just the Disney format of usually having one parent for some characters and 90% of the time it’s not that deep. Also what temple thing cause there is pretty much no loose end that warrants a movie other than the beginning of the core.
I like Dr_Nique’s idea from their comic, it has new conflicts and villains with lots of the same characters. Just 10 years older!

What if the "very exciting news" is that Terri visited a colleague of theirs in Connecticut, and their lab equipment detected a strange and unexplainable surge of energy from an unknown source, accompanied by signs of dimensional warping, and when they investigated the site where it happened - an old graveyard, specifically - they found that there were signs of a battle of some sort having taken place between beings with unknown powers, along with small amounts of a blue liquid that contained enough energy to power a portal?

Honestly, this is my head canon now. I can handle Sprig and Anne taking a 10 year hiatus in their friendship, but I can't stand the ide that they never see each other again.

I would assume because I don't care what that newscaster said about it being a ten-year hoax, or that article Camila was reading asking whether or not it was all true, or even what Marcy's Journal revealed that Mr. X and his crew were somehow able to cover it all up, there is no way they could cover the whole invasion up, there were thousands of witnesses, new broadcasters, and who knows how many videos people filmed on their phones or whatnots of the event, you can't cover all that up no matter how good you are.
So I fully believe at least in L.A. Anne and probably Sasha and Marcy too were seen as heroes and possibly pseudo-celebrities by everyone.
I still think Matt needs to license and allow the sale of Amphibia Funko Pops. I'd buy every single one I could get my hands on!

please no pops,,,, there’s too many shows that i’d love actual merch of, but only get those soulless dead eyed things and it’s left at that. i’d prefer any other kind of funko figure tbh (mystery minis, soda, proper vinyl figures etc)

Some guy on Twitter made actual prototype pops of the trio and sent a picture to Matt who joked asking funko to make real ones, and some made concept for Owl House ones so maybe some day.
At the very least, I like that it leaves it open that Anne and co were eventually able to stay in contact with the Planters and the rest of Amphibia.

I thought the journal was really interesting, I loved it a lot. If there were a few things I could add, I would add only two things (small spoilers?):
1. More amphibian runes pages! or at least little coded messages in the margins. I know it wouldn't make sense, because Marcy said it was hard to learn to decode the runes, but it would be fun to decode.
2. A darcy page!! In Gravity Falls' merch, they had a bunch of Bill Cipher pages, and I would have loved to see Darcy write a page in the Journal. We barely know really anything about the Core, so it would have been really cool to see more about them.

If it is a spin-off, then Amphibia can finally have its missing 59th and 60th episode, and the Season 3 musical talent show we never got in 2022! Season 1 had Fiddle Me This and Season 2 had Battle of the Bands. If Ally and Jess were hosting a musical talent show on their UA-cam channel, it could be their master plan to help Terri generate a portal big enough to get them back into Wartwood. Marcy can reunite with Maddie, Sasha can reunite with Toadie, and Anne can reunite with Sprig + the entire Plantar and Sundew families.
I think it's going to be great if they make a movie but I think it's not popular enough yet so first definitely need to boost it and then maybe we get a movie or something

a season 4 could be cool because in movies they often change the artstyle. sure annes spindly but i've gotten used to that specific style
Marcy's Journal was an absolute ride. Without getting into spoilers I legitimately felt like I was watching secret episodes when reading Marcy's entries, and I could feel the emotion in every one. It was fun getting to certain sections with my knowledge of the show, it definitely put a lot into perspective. All in all, I *highly* recommend getting the book, it is a unique experience that should not be missed.
I’ve been wondering if the In-Between Realm from The Owl House connects to other worlds besides the Demon Realm and Earth, because if it does, since Amphibia appears to be in the same multiverse as the Owl House, it means the calamity trio might be able to communicate through the In-Between Realm somehow.
Also, on the back of Marcy’s Journal written in runes, it says:
“Of the things you let go… you’d be surprised what makes its way back to you.”
*More foreshadowing*?
10yrs is a long time for research and exploring. Who knows what Terri could have in store for them? If there is a movie coming I would watch it. 🤩

I like how Marcy's journal gives the fans of Amphibia the possibility that Anne, Sasha, and Marcy may return to Amphibia after 10 years.
Maybe a time travel amphibia movie could end with the characters preventing the destruction of the Calamity stones and box in the hardest thing and making it so they were never separated in the first place.
We need a amphibia movie! There hasn't been a movie based on a Disney show since Phineas and Ferb. I believe I don't know I don't fallow many shows on Disney

Another interesting spin off could be a short series of Marcy’s adventures in Newtopia during the events of Season 1- Marcy At The Gates and also some stuff we never saw in the original show, like maybe when Marcy and Andrias were studying the box, they went down to the archives but we never saw in the show what they found down there, only in the book.
So yea, it would be interesting!
theoretically, and I know it's unlikely, but we know the universes of amphibia and the owl house are connected, so maybe the portal can also be powered by titan's blood, like the the portal in TOH. and we know there's titan's blood on earth, according to the currently last episode of TOH, thanks to them. maybe the scientist can get it and use it to power up the portal
I hope there'll be a spin-off movie of amphibia because to see anne, sasha and marcy again would be wonderful and terri with her portal and anne, sasha and marcy with their powers still within them so I hope matt will agree with this!

I think that last page was made more to leave an open window of opportunity for the fans, rather than for an official future sequel hook. Which is fair by the way, Braly doesn't have to continue the story if he doesn't want to. I think fan content will work as well.
Speaking of which: there is an ongoing fanmade comic story, Amphibia Vol. 2, of which the beginning almost PERFECTLY matches the ending of the Journal (it's ironic if you ask me, since the comic started many months before the journal was released). I really recommend it if you want more Amphibia content. It's pretty good.

I think even though the end of Marcy's journal definitely hints at the girls contatcting their Amphibia friends in some way, we won't get a movie centered on that specifically. The story of the calamity trio feels fiinished already, and I don't think it needs any additions, at least in the animated way, I like the concept of it being left out to the fans. Though I definitely think a time travel movie taking place only in Amphibia is a possibility.
It sucks I don't have a chance to read Marcy's journal, because I live in Belarus, and currently, as far as I am aware there's no shipping here from the US. 😥
Sad, but I have hopes to get it one day...

I'm really hopeful that the Calamity Trio will get to return to Amphibia and also that Marcy will move back to California and the trio will reconnect.
I'm confident the first part will happen and I'm 100% sure Marcy pretty much confirmed she will be moving back to reconnect with Anne and Sasha.

What I always imagined was they never manage to make the portal (wait this will heat up), many years pass and anne dies, turns into a celestial being and travels back in time and with the help of Sprig and Ivy they open a portal for Marcy and Sasha...
They continue to explore amphibia while Anne sometimes has to deal with some multiverse problems. (PS: There are several celestial beings and her function is to deal with Earth (GF), Amphibia, TOH in which some Annes become celestial beings and others no, basically her function plus the other Annes is to establish balance between multiverses... That spell to eliminate Bill (last ep)could be to summon a celestial being but that didn't happen because it was buried, not allowing help...)

Sprig and Ivy goes explore the other side, revealing other ways to travel in an ancient temple that was submerged because of the gravitational pull of the Moon...
(Each "key" to accessing a world of the same dimension is different in each realm)
This makes me so happy to see amphibia and (avril lavigne references) in one video bc I did just finish amphibia and cried so this really makes me happy love the channel 🎉
I gotta say, I loved Marcy's Journal and I can't wait to hear you discuss other stuff about it. There is a lot that can be talked about, not just the stuff revealed about Marcy, but the extra stuff revealed about Anne during her entries and even Sasha since Anne uses some entries to talk about both Sasha and Marcy, and I love what that stuff revealed about them, like how Sasha's home life is even rougher then we thought since not only are her parents divorced but her mom remarried and not only that married a guy who also has kid, so now Sasha has to share her mom with another kid, giving her less attention that she already has and thus leading to her more controlling nature. Or how the first time Anne and Marcy met it was absolutely cute with them trying to protect Marcy's sand castle, and how Anne says she wishes Marcy told her about the whole box thing and her parents sooner because she would have tried to help her oldest friend, despite how painful a betrayal it was she still cares about Marcy and wants to help her thus showing how great and kind Anne really is. Also, I thought the inclusion of actual animated pictures of Marcy and Sasha's parents was very smart since they never showed up in the actual series so we got to see what they look like and despite their somewhat strained relationship with their kids it's very obvious they do love Marcy and Sasha just like Anne's parents love her. And of course, that last entry was the best, I love how Marcy points out that despite how long the trio had been apart that eventually, they came back together and they're better than ever, thus proving that old saying right, "If you love something set it free and if it comes back to you it was meant to be." And the trio was definitely meant to be and it looks like they were also meant to be with their found Amphibia families to thanks to Terri. I fully believe Terri has made a working portal, ten years is long enough, and with the advancement of technology, as well as the possibility that she was able to look into the stuff that happened in The Owl House and Gravity Falls, since both take place on the same Earth as Amphibia, I'm confident Terri did it, since as those other shows show there's more than one way to open or power a portal to another dimension without the Calamity Box. I mean you got all the crazy Gravity Falls stuff, Titan's Blood, and who knows what other powerful magical artifacts. There is a way.
And with the portals in mind, one must wonder if a Multiversal defense force might be, well, forced to intervene in an otherwise futile bid to maintain a status quo that started to wane ever since incidents like Weirdmageddon and even the Cleaving of Earth-ni.
Also, the fact that their Earth's governments, particularly ones in the UN, could be a bit too privy in the protagonists' lives.

@@zexalbrony4799 Basically, said defense force might feel like the SCP Foundation, SEELE, the Jensaarai, and the Global Defense Initiative/Operations Group Echo: Black Ops 9 (among other groups), which means they're benevolent yet also cold and ruthless in certain sections.
@@michaelandreipalon359 So I'm guessing most of the portages wouldn't be on these teams, because I can't see many of them being cold and ruthless, except a few because of their past or upbringing, like Amity, Hunter, Sasha, and the like.

I would LOVE for a new Amphibia movie to happen either this year in 2023 or even teasers about it happening next year even. Having it be a time travel movie would be interesting and would really give more depth to Amphibia’s history and world.

If we could actually get a movie that isn’t time traveling or the frog team seeing their ancestors instead I just need a movie where they go to amphibia for about 6-7 days maybe 8 if we’re lucky
It could possibly be a new portal, and if it is, I bet it has to do something with The Owl House. I’m guessing it has something to do what happened in the Demon and Human Realm in the last few episodes of TOH. Which could affect the world of these characters in a way we don’t yet know.
Anne: in the second part, hopefully there will be a journey to the opposite side of the planet Amphibia ... where we find the remains of another amphibian society...
I love when creators of a show that's been over do something like this that tease the possibility of more content. Like you just know Matt wouldn't mind doing another round with these characters even if the story is technically "over." And while I'll never oppose more of some of my favorite stuff, I'm not necessarily dying without seeing them go back to see their Amphibia friends. The story had an amazing ending.
Hell if anything I'd be more interested in Anne, Marcy, & Sasha's adult lives more than them going back to Amphibia tbh.

How could the ending of the book NOT mean the possible return to Amphibia.
As long as it's gonna mean Anne can reunite with her brother, sister, and grandfather (And if Hop Pop marries Sylvia, she'd become Anne's grandmother!), I'm happy with that.

As Anne did interact with the literal god that created the stones, what are the odds that they left Anne with a little power she could still access. Is it possible? Not sure. But I think it's worth mentioning.
I find it very interesting that Marcy's Journal actually HINTS at a sequel Movie/Series of some sort. This information could indicate that the creators of Amphibia knew"?" that Chapek was going to be removed at some point? With his removal who knows how far down the road it was planned, if I remember correctly didn't the creator of Amphibia say the series ending was by design? Marcy's Journal heavily changes that phrasing

Already, I can imagine the reunion scene being so emotional. Assuming, a movie does happen.
Something I always thought was that while making a portal from earth to Amphibia while fairly difficult it was doable with the only major requirement being having enough power to do so(hooking it up to a major power source for example something their government allies could give them access to) the problem is the for the most part Amphibia doesn't have the power to do so and while they may have the tech in some places its like 99% reliant on the gems energy, beside those things most of that world is still around late medieval age.
To sum up getting there is doable getting back easily, much less so.

Crazy movie idea for a multiverse plot involving our three fav shows, gravity falls amphibia and TOH, so bill cipher returns as a nightmare demon with no body and can only talk to people in their minds, he finds terri and gives her the plans to make the portal to find a new body and get his nightmare friends back, when anne and the others arrive and turn on the portal glitches and teleports anne and sacha back to the amphibia and marcy and ghost bill ends up at the boiling aisles, the pine twins arrive at the lab as they notice the energy surge being the same as the last portal, everything starts going to heck and the portal is once again broken. anne and sacha return to see their friends and go to see the axolotle and GOD to find answers to get once again back and about bill. marcy finds the owl house (this is before the finally so idk what happens) and does the same; mean while bill goes to find a new body and finds the collector a similar being to him with great powers, he opens a portal back to earth and starts opening multiple portals from different dimensions and reaks havock. As anne, sacha and friends return too as well as marcy and the owl house crew to the lab meeting the pine twins who have been preparing to once again to stop bill and as they are about to plan an attack dipper and mable walk in. *EPIC FIGHT STARTS, MULTIPLE INSPIRING SPEECHES, BIG EXCITING THINGS HAPPEN, THE END*
This has little structure, i only came up with this in a 30 min drive home, pretty sure alot of grammer mistakes and it probably doesn't even work cuz THE LAST EPISODE OF THE OWL HOUSE IS TODAY AND I HAVE'NT WATCHED IT, anyways if you made it this far it means you still miss and are grieving that these amazing shows have ended and can't let go
but life moves on things change and you grow up but you'd be surprised what stays with you, thanks for reading.
