A nice way to take it, but I still think her being an arrogant star-athlete that did not work well with others and/or being great at making friends clashed with her being submissive to Sasha though.

In “Day At The Aquarium, Anne says “Anytime I was feeling gloomy back home, the aquarium would always make me feel better.” What I infer from this is that Anne felt gloomy and missed her frog family, so she got a job that made her feel better, and reminded her of the fun times they had together. My heart can’t take this. I love this show so much.

13:26 to me the fact that anne chose to make light of this moment made it hit even harder for me; she knew she was dying, and she didn’t want to see the people that she cared about - that she had sacrificed her life for - sad… so she made a joke. It left me completely devastated seeing everyone laugh while crying right before she’s turned into dust.

The moment when the message of the show became clear, I completely realized why I was so in to Amphibia for the past couple years. The show got me through the incredibly rough moments when the pandemic was at its worst and when I was struggling to adjust to my college life. The show gave me an escape to effectively relive some of my happiest moments from my kid and teen years. But of course, this show is about change, and the show’s final episodes were a stark reminder that I can’t just perpetually relive the past. I have to move on from my old ways and seek better. So in a way, Amphibia was kind of a very long therapy session for me. It’s sad to see the show end, but I’m happy that it ended in the way it was intended and how it pushed me to become a better person. No other show I can think of had this major of an impact on me. That’s why Amphibia is definitely the best show I’ve ever watched in my opinion.

This was such a powerful conclusion. It’s very apparent how much passion and thought and work (or heart and wit and strength) has gone into Amphibia, and there was just so much growth throughout the series that paid off here (I especially love how the girls’ Calamity Powers are based on things that are meaningful to them). The message about change is handled with grace and maturity- I’d honestly think it was a little lame if the girls, after all they experienced, just stayed best friends forever and never parted. You may have to let things go, but that can open new doors, and sometimes old ones reopen too. More than any other fictional world I’ve seen in a long time, Amphibia feels alive. It feels like a true community, it’s characters are thoughtfully written and extremely likable, and it’s done a wonderful job of getting me attached to them. It has provided me with no small amount of comfort and inspiration in my life, and I’m sure it’s done the same for so many others who gave it a chance. Thank you, Matt Braly. Thank you, Amphibia.

The Plantars learning about Television is honestly the most hilarious thing I've watched in years. It was also the episode that sold me on Hop Pop as a character. I thought he would've stayed the old character who complained a lot for the entire series. Then, when the kids fought over who ran down the phone, Hop Pop broke out of his shell and yelled, "It was MEEEEEEEEE!" Then he fricken chucked himself off a cliff into the zapopede pit, got shocked, and launched with the kids into the sky. Ive loved the show ever since.

Anne's soul may have been placed into a new vessel thanks the creator before Anne died, or that Anne is a replica of her original self is left a mystery to me.

I find one small detail very interesting in this episode. Of course this is packed with so many secrets and little details that are amazing, but I keep thinking about this one. Anne gave Sprig her PHONE, which, as we know, was Anne's number one possession. She freaked out over losing it, freaked out over almost breaking it, freaked out when it ran out of battery, and much more. Not only was she a regular teenager who loved her phone but, in Amphibia, her phone was her link. She had entertainment on there, memories from her old life, her friends, and her family. She also made new memories on that phone, constantly taking pictures around Amphibia. So the fact that she gave up her personal possession to Sprig was actually very heartbreaking and surprising. It truly shows how much she has grown in that little action. In a way, Sprig has become the new Anne because now Sprig has that entertainment, those old memories from Anne's time before Amphibia, the memories from when she WAS in Amphibia, and now he gets to make new ones with it.

A few things I wanted to bring up.
Anne's Death & Rebirth: Anne's former body died after using the stones to save Amphibia and turns to white ash that fades away. After meeting the Guardian of the 3 Stones, she was given a new body to reflect how she's changed and become a better person. I like to think that this keeps to the show's theme of growing and evolving, which eventually leads to change, whether if we like it or not.
(Also, for those wondering why they are celebrating Anne's birthday on the anniversary of the Invasion, I'd like to think it's because of her rebirth. Since she was given into a new body and given a second chance at life, she was technically reborn and this could be like a second birthday for her. The new body could also explain why Anne's shoe is on the wrong foot.)
The Sacrifice: What I really like about this finale is the subversion of the big sacrifice. We all knew something big was going to be lost, but most assumed it would be someone losing their life to save everyone. It seemed like Anne gave up her own life to save Amphibia, but the whole thing turned out to be a test by the Guardian to see that Anne was worthy of being its successor. When Anne declines the offer because she knows she's not ready, the Guardian sends her back and gives her small shards of the three stones to get her, Sasha, and Marcy back home. However, this means that this is the last time the calamity box will be used and they'll never come back to Amphibia ever again. They say goodbye to all the friends and family they made, before going back to Earth. They saved Amphibia, but at the cost of destroying the one thing that allows them to travel dimensions. It's sad, but shows how doing what's right is never easy.
The Calamity Box: After the box is used to send the girls home, did anyone notice the sound it made when it turned to ash? It was the same sound effect used In Infinity War and Endgame when people were snapped out of existence.
Future Amphibia: The future we see probably takes place about a 1-2 years into the future, seeing as how Hop-Pop still looks about the same age when the girls left. Also, is it just me, or does future Ivy look like a frog version of Anne, especially the hair under the cloak? I guess it symbolizes how Anne will always be a part of Sprig’s life in some way. :)
Future Earth: It was nice to see the girls all grown up and celebrate Anne's 23rd birthday. All the girls' jobs help others and represent the flaws they overcame. Marcy's escape to fantasy with her webcomic, Sasha's psychology degree to help kids' emotional turmoil, and Anne's growth and maturity to show others how different forms of life can be amazing.
    Just my thoughts. :)

The crew put so much personality into the characters. I love each of them and will miss them. The references to almost every adventure they went on makes me feel rewarded for being a full 3 year viewer. One thing that's interesting about Anne giving them her phone is that it was the catalyst for 2 memorable episodes from season 1, Taking Charge and Civil Wart. It played a role in capturing the memories of the Plantar family and Anne, so her giving them her phone is practically her giving up her chance of remembering Amphibia vividly for the rest of her life. She won't have the pictures, but I'm sure she'll remember Amphibia for the rest of her life. This experience with this show is one of the highlights of my experience growing up. I started at 13 and ended at 16. Thanks for your Amphibia breakdowns Awestruck.

Watching the finale, as well as this series as a whole, has helped me cope with this fear of moving. With this fear of change. With This fear of loneliness.

Why didn't Anne get any credit for repelling the invasion? She should have gained Fame and Fortune, that would have added additional sweet to balance out the bitter. Also, why didn't they even try to have Terri build another portal to amphibia? I bet a nuclear reactor or something like that would be able to power a portal to amphibia big enough for a human to go through, and now that Anne is friends with Mr. X, he could provide her with that kind of generator.

    • @Dante-Balisk
      @Dante-Balisk 2 роки тому

Even with the greater power output, it probably would have missed something specific to the energy and music produced by the gems. And after the final battle, the girls likely came to terms with the goodbye and wanted to return to a normal life, like how if Anne agreed to become the new gem guardian she probably would have had an ability to freely travel between Earth and Amphibia, but she refused because she had enough adventure. When they returned home, it is very likely it didn't come to their mind to reuse the portal because they had new priorities of reuniting with their families and deciding their futures.

The portal only worked with Anne’s power/connection to the stone. even with the small amount of power she had, a fraction of infinity is still infinity, basically I don’t think any amount of power on earth would be enough to power the portal, and Anne knows that.
