Kendrick's film was extremely good and I love that she managed to keep it tense and menacing without graphically showing the violent details of the murders. Well done, Anna!
I appreciated that SO much. It is a very good debut!
This is a good critique. I also really loved it for these same reasons. I also thought the cinematography was really choice (not sure how much of a hand she actually had in that) but some of the shots were really beautiful, some scary, some just nicely done.
She’s just so quirky and fast and perfect, like a little hummingbird that can’t stop talking lol
Anna Kendrick knows how to wormtongue her way into Stephen's heart with that Gollum/Smeagol reference :D
She mentioned on a previous appearance they she and some friends(friend?) have watch parties for Lord of the Rings, so it wasn't just for Stephen.
Knowing that she only had 6 weeks to prep makes it even more impressive! That was a fantastic directorial debut
I’m so happy for her. She’s brilliant, adorable, fun and I just want to root for her. She’s so consistently awesome in everything she’s in. Of corse she can direct. Duh.
Perfectly said, she's become my favourite actor.
God I love this woman. Hope nothing but success comes her way.
"How bad of a serial killer are we talking here?"
"One of the really bad ones. Not someone we like."
I hope this woman never changes. She's so delightfully awkward, just like the rest of us. The turn to the audience was great, you can feel her brain saying "Why did you suggest we like some serial killers?!?!" And yet, the grin never really leaves her face.
She is an absolute firecracker of charm. I just start beaming everytime she opens her mouth ;)
I watched it because Anna is in it(I'm a fan).
I watched it without knowing anything about it. During it, I realised it a was true story(I enjoy true movies). Afterwards a read that she had directed it.
I'm now an even bigger fan.
Just watched her movie earlier today knowing nothing about it and not knowing she directed it. I thought it was fantastic!
If it starts “welcome back” and the guest is already there, just quit out and go to the other one…
... I'm gonna go see it today you helped me decide thank you I love "murder documentary" shows for some f***ed up reason 😄
@@DouglasRichardson-er4ky It is VERY badly written and directed, so take that into account. However, because it's Anna Kendrick, I still would recommend watching it on Netflix just out of support. There is no doubt she will get better with time. *The overall message, which doesn't come through until the very end is just how often the cries (and deaths!) of women are ignored by authority figures.*
@@dr.braxygilkeycruises1460 ... ok thanks I appreciate it there are other movies I'd rather see for the cost and effort I appreciate you best wishes from Buckeye Arizona 😎🫵🏼🌵🐎🗽🦅💙🇺🇲

I liked it for all the reasons you don’t. .
She is just fabulous in everything she does!
Please number the videos ! They’re never uploaded in order 😢
Omg....just search them!
Its annoying but this will help.
When there is two segments featuring the first guest, the longest one is usually the first one. If there is three segments they are usually in order by length with the longest one first and the shortest one of the other two is usually last of the three.
For the whole show, the funny 1 minute intro for the show is always first, the monologue is always second, his "Meanwhile" segment or its equivalent is always third. The featured guest (Anna Kendrick in this case) with two or more segments comes next, if there is a one segment guest they come next, then the musical guest if there is one is last.
The monologue is always uploaded first, well in advance of the rest. The funny intro is uploaded sometime later, usually in a batch with the rest of the segments for the show.
You can also wait to the next day where they place a playlist for the entire show on their home page, which is in order.
But yes, it would be nice if they were numbered!
If you start with the one where they walk out to fanfare and applause, you are on the right track.
Yes please! Sometimes there's 3 or 4 segments, with the first one is easy because usually is the longest one, but with the others is a toss up.
grow up xD
She did such a good job on that movie. She wonderfully captured fear, pain, violence without being graphic about it. Beautiful job telling the victims stories-they were the stars not the killer.
We love anna kendrick and stephen colbert
Just watched this movie last night and didn’t know much about it, didn’t even know she directed it (wow!) and it was fantastic AND absolutely FRIGHTENING AS HELL!!! It’s suspenseful and so tense. It was disheartening to find out it was based on a real life story. It gave a sinking feeling on how scary real life can be compared to the gore of other types of horror films.
Her directing was AMAZING and for a first timer?? GIVE THIS WOMAN ALL OF THE AWARDS!
I just watched Woman of the Hour on Netflix. I feel Anna Kendrick's directorial debut is masterful. I highly recommend it, for I feel she really got the flavor of that era.
Anna Kendrick graced the show,
To discuss her directorial flow.
A true crime tale she did unfold,
Of a killer from times of old.
A casual fan, she'd always been,
But life's twists made darkness convene.
Obsessed she grew, with stories grim,
Then came a project, on a whim.
Two years she waited, for the film's birth,
Then a rush, a scramble, a directorial dearth.
A voice within, urged her to try,
To helm the project, to reach for the sky.
Fear she fought, in a 48-hour plight,
To convince producers, day and night.
A pitch she made, then questioned its worth,
But Hollywood's facade, hid their true mirth.
They urged confidence, a second take,
A leader's aura, they wished to partake.
Anna played the part, with feigned aplomb,
And landed the job, beating Hollywood's drum.
They knew she was faking, a game they all played,
But in her leadership, they firmly swayed.
Anna Kendrick, the actress turned director bold,
Her story in Hollywood, forever to be told.
holy shit
She did a great job with this film! Highly recommended!
bonus points for the LOTR reference.
Pro tip: go to the show's main page, hit Playlists, and pick the date of the episode. All segments are posted in order. They've always done that, y'all are complaining about a "problem" that doesn't exist
I just watched this yesterday and didn't realize she directed it until the credits at the end. It was a great movie!!
Huge fan. She is so talented!
So...the Pitch she gave...was.....Perfect? 😉
Hmmm ... I think you've got something there.
Always love to see two of America's sweethearts on the same stage. Much love to you both
Is it just me? or is there a little boy excited bashful smile just after he finishes announcing her? 😊☺😁
I just watched the new movie yesterday
That was a great great movie
She’s a natural director
And young women out there
Be safe
Don’t hang out with randoms you don’t really know anything about
Thankfully there’s tons of cameras now
Not like back in the 70s
Anna Kendrick Have a Beauty Voice...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I love the way Anna acts out the conversation inside her head!
And the movie was excellent!
is it out or did you get some kinda special screening?

What a gorgeous woman. ❤️
Looking forward to seeing the flick. 👍🏻
It's on Netflix
"They knew that I was faking it; they had told me to fake it, and they still were like, 'well that lady seems like a leader, let's hire her.'"
Yep, that's leadership in a nutshell :P
Terrific directorial debut from Anna. What a great movie. If this is her first film, she is surely going to make a name for her.
She's awesome
Hard to believe she's almost 40!
Holy cow! I would have guessed late 20s.
Wow okay. I had 33 in my mind, only because she's been around for a while.
Thank you for sharing your consumate professional sumptuousness and marvelous etc. in awe, time here.
I love her voice ❤
I f**king love Anna Kendrick.
I'd watch anything starring and/or made by Anna!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Love you SOOO much, Anna!!!❤
She is adorable and funny!
It's a crime having Anna as a guest and not have her sing with Stephen again
Anna Kendrick is a national precious!
Anna Kendrick has the most tasteful, captivating eyelid/eye makeup I have ever seen.
I see Anna, i watch and i leave a thumbs up.
She's so awesome!
Loved the film
Love her! This movie is amazing!
She's great!
Que bella e inteligente! Now, I'm going to go watch your movie. I hope it's good!
Anna is a bada$$! This movie is great!! Young women need to see this......
Anna U R amazing! Cheers
I am oddly drawn to really quirky women. I adore Anna. She is the Queen of Quirk.
Stars like Anna make America Great!
totally blown away just by leaving one word out, you changed the conversation entirely...that word being "again"
@@DiZastur Thanks. I'm glad it worked out for a few readers. 🫶
Omgoodness, only Anna Kendrick! XD Looks like an intriguing movie, I definitely need to check it out!
Wish you would number these!
Great vid
I'm dead inside, but when she walked out in that dress, I hit the floor!
Just watched it last night. It was nihilistic and bleak but impressive for a directorial debut. Kendrick’s best acting role was in HBO MAX’s Love Life
Petite goddess.
I watched this movie, it was so good!! Creepy AF!!
Loved get in "A Simple Favor" and just in general.
Anna Kendrick and Kristen Bell - too tiny comediennes who don't get enough credit for their singing voices.
Hard to say she doesn’t get enough credit when she’s Tony award nominated
congrats on the debut
I was going to say something about her being brilliant, adorable, and fun…and well, uhh…everybody knows that
Only problem with the movie is that Anna Kendrick doesn't sound anything like a 70's girl.
I'm not a fan of hers because I think she's said she hates kids so makes me a little suspicious, however I thought that she did really, really great! The movie was very tense and unsettling. She did great with the role as well. I highly recommend!
i like the movie, the voices inside our head are our consciousness
So I guess when Anna went back a second time to promote herself for Director, her pitch was perfect.
The answer to the questions "What's the theory of relativity" is: Everybody's got relatives and, when you're near them, time passes more slowly.
Loved her since "Up in the air"
She is so cute.
Look Anna from the accountant its a Rockwell and hasbolla gold
So anna making any pcb's with Ai, quantum and hypnotizing computing chips yet 🤖🥤💻🦨@#$%^&*( space program water trail ☄️🛰🌎 mini earth
Is anna the stowaway flerken being a Leo ♌ what's with the cat spacesuit anna kendrick, I was going with ninja spacesuits with robot patches and nanotechnology everlasting life tattoos
Evie, watch out! Stephen could role play Count Alexei Kirillovich Vronsky to Anna's Anna. :)
Anna's mannerisms reminds me so much of Donna Paulsen from Suits
The movie is fantastic
Let's encourage our most beloved movie stars never get tired having fun performing and entertain us fans because cinema shows are suuuuper wow indeed, the best time of our lives. They say, actors enjoy their job because they care to be ... someone else. Anyone not satisfied of what they do, will you please be...someone else like actors do? In web connection the best job to do is... becoming fans, mostly the fan of yourselves, like...the man in the mirror, the one you imagine you could be but you are not that lucky...go champs go for it, in this parallel universe any miracle is possible...I do not want to act...just be myself and nobody likes me.. think about it guys 😂😂😂😅😅😅
I'm sure somebody likes you.
Thank you UA-cam for the zoom feature!
She's more real in the movie than she is in real life.
Eyes up top Stephen
Portland Maine kid
another show for your streaming service. Ms Kendrick sings the phone book ...

Spoiler alert: The serial killer was Rodney Alcala, he murdered many women and was picked by the girl in the dating game show, but she admitted that he creeped her out and didn’t go out with him on that date. Smartest thing she ever did!
Hey, thanks!
Stephen...
Number is Good Now.... That is a Good Change,,,
I wonder if the interview was videotaped and sent to the executives and that's why they had her redo it.
Is there anybody cuter than Anna?
Yes
No
The movie was well done as a movie, but it was also 90% made up. Even some of the 'facts' before the end credits were not accurate.
Most likely the same voices that probably haunted Ryan Reynolds in The Voices.
Ms. Anna Kendrick is Mesmerizing isnt she? ? 😋
I actually worked for the father of her boyfriend in 2013... I now wonder if it was him who abused her. 😢
Why isn't the movie available in Canada?
Use vpn to watch it.
Didn't think this was her first movie as Director.
The movie is based on real-life serial killer Rodney Alcala.
I'm so bummed! After the clip, I thought Anna played a serial killer... was kind of an exciting prospect.
Okay now "Anna as a '70s Everywoman Serial Killer" is a movie I NEED to see 🤯🔥
Omg, the publicists are working hard on this. She's in every celebrity channel on yt right now. Trying too hard to put her and this movie on the spot.
She would be a great wenpool ...and should be in the next Deadpool movie when Spiderman meets Deadpool
So we could say the pitch was… perfect? 😊
Ok here goes nuttin:
4 it’s 1,2,3 what are those videos 4 ?, don’t tell me I don’t really care, I watch -em then I laugh and I stare. And it’s 5,6,7 open up the pearly gates. Yeah there ain’t no need to wonder why, Whoopee we just wanna laugh till we cry!!!🤙🙏Thank U, thank you…
It sounds like the second time was... Pitch Perfect.
Love Annie.. just a Sweety💙
#3 is not creepy enough , And if you watch the original clip . She was more creepy than he was ! Anna seemed way to normal .
