@ZenEndurance hosts in general are paid differently than just correspondents, it's a different position. I would assume pay is just increased on nights they are hosting or their salary in general increased but not as much as a nightly host.
I love handing Stephen an improv scene pitch which of COURSE he will take, but I love even more giving him 5-10 seconds to prepare while she “looks” for him and not just dropping it with no warning. Expert level and very enjoyable.

Early this year, I randomly visited The Late Show Y.t. channel. Desi's work is one of main reasons I'm now a daily viewer. For me, she's the stand-out in an already impressive team they currently have. She absolutely nails it - genuinely _great_ delivery every time. 👏

I don't know if that's actually a dish anyone's made, but I'd try it I'd figured she'd suggest that the sauce had a meyer lemon base w/ capers, but what she described tops it IMO.
She dressed for success, and the job she wanted. Desi kills as host of the Daily Show, but, like Stephen, she is destined for bigger and better things. That $3500 was an investment in her future.
