I enjoyed watching this old video. I remember this. It's our life in Wisconsin quite often. Sad to see roofs down though. That's never good. Watching the tRUMP video was nauseating . Miss Dexter. 😢 I was thinking how different it would be now, with children, more land and buildings, etc. You both have accomplished so much since then. Thanks for sharing your gardens and life " out west " with us.😊
Whenever that sad video about Dexter passing pops up on my UA-cam feed, I cry and cry and cry. Just can’t help it. One of my cats just died of a cancer this summer and second one is going through chemo treatments right now 😢
First of all, bless your heart for sharing how you and your sweet family handle adversity with grace. Second, in the midwest we use roof rakes (?) to clear snow off the roof - it helps extend your reach a bit (Amazon). As a nurse on a cardiac unit, I worry about all those people clearing the heavy snow - many heart attcks happen shoveling heavy snow. Praying for health and safety (and some warm sunshine) for you all. Pet Dexter for me!!
Hey Laura. I am just catching up on your videos. Yes ROOF RAKES! I am from New England. Couple years ago we had extreme snowmagedon. I had the only roof rake in the neighborhood and made lots of new friends! You could have used it at work too from the bucket of the lift! You may not get it all, but less time standing on roof risking a fall! Love your channel, shared you with my garden groups!
Seeing for the first time! We read about Snowmaggeden, but seeing you live it helps us to know just how devastating it was to just your small town and the effect it had. So much compassion for y'all from south Texas.
I’m enjoying catching up on old videos. These must be prior to kids. I’m not sure of the birth years. But I sure makes it easier. I’m glad you didn’t get hurt falling off the roof.
My husband just stumbled across this video today. We live across the river from the city where that Home Depot is and Snowmagedden happened our very first winter here. It wasn't too much of a big deal because we had just moved from Iowa the year before and that gets a lot of heavy snow, too. Been to that Home Depot many times and we bought some of our furniture from that furniture store that later collapsed. They reopened a year later in a new location. We, too, had to hire people to get the snow off the roof and I remember that church was cancelled for two weeks in a row until they could get professionals to clear off the church roof. I'm just glad the following winters were much milder.
Wow! Since I live in Florida I find this fascinating, but also sad, because it's like a hurricane but with snow. I'm glad you got the snow off your roof, and my heart and prayers goes out to you! I really appreciate these types of videos as well, I love the updates! I also think you should eat extra dessert every night for shoveling all that snow haha. Thanks for sharing!! ~Stephanie
9:20 You may not agree with me, but Laura's hair color, "hairstyle" and makeup look amazing at this moment❗ Probably her best look in all the years of the channel's existence. 🙃
Hi guys, I just watched this video of 2years ago with the major snow storm you had to deal with. I’m sorry it was a hard winter 🥶 but the arial pictures were beautiful. It’s so weird that you get such hot 🥵 weather and then snow like that. You guys are not boring at all, I like seeing how your days go. Thank you so much for sharing your life. Your never boring, so sorry you are having so much snow and damage. Love it when my phone tells me you have a new post. Hang in there this all will go away and spring will come. 💗🌸💗
So I live in Arizona but you live in my home town. Watching you vlog made me a little homesick. I defiantly don't miss the snow but seeing all the familiar places in your background defiantly made my day even though it was sad to see some of them totally destroyed. I understand the destruction from the snow, my parents own a little business in town that collapsed. And my little brother is taking full advantage of the $20 per hour snow removal. This was definitely not a boring video. 👍
I live in St.Petersburg, Florida, but lived in Upstate NY my whole live minus the past 4 years. I can relate to enormous snow removal and the labor of it and worries. Oh, my goodness: I cannot fathom that volume of snow! What a huge effort to protect your many structures that, as Aaron commented, were not designed to sustain that much weight. Whew. Thank you, Laura, for appreciating the blessing of a different perspective---oh, what we all take for granted.
So, here I am in 2022. This is such an interesting video. I live in MN (my home) but I have also lived in San Diego and Houston. Water is “very interesting”. If you are not prepared for a water deluge or it is not a normal deluge, it doesn’t matter what form the water takes… it will be a problem. Ice, snow or liquid…… water is a very powerful entity. It saves, it injures and it kills. I love your channel and I am enjoying watching the videos from before I found you. All the best to you.
Not boring at all girlie* Very interesting actually, at least for me. I live in San Diego and there is no such thing as snow around here. The rain is hitting us pretty hard right now, but nothing compared to your dilemma. I have your town in my prayers*
Oh Laura and Aaron my heart goes out to you guys and your family!!! Your poor town!!! You are all in my prayers. You both are such troopers! You both must be so exhausted! You both shine with the love of Christ! I give thanks for your godly examples! Hang in there, Yeah, heat cables are a great investment Laura! We've been hammered with snow down here in Southern Utah, but not near as much as you guys! I can only imagine how difficult it is to remove all that snow!!! Hey Aaron, great aerial view of all your hard work!!! You two are so blessed to have each other! You make such a great team ;)
Boring? No boring at all. I’m from Florida believe me that’s the most fascinating thing I’ve ever seen. I can never imagine. I’ve seen snow flurries when it snowed here for about a hot minute and thats it. I know this is an older video so I hope you haven’t had this kind of weather afterwards. I could never imagine shoveling all that snow. My back hurts just from shoveling sunshine off the driveway. LOL Seriously though my hearts and prayers go out to those people even though this is an older videos I’m sure they’re still feeling some effects from it as we just did with hurricane Ian.
It's pouring rain here in NoCal, and further north is snow we've never seen. One crazy winter. At least you are going to be in great shape after all this shoveling! Stay safe! Great video (sans the Trump footage : /) God bless.
Thank you for this video. We live in Durango, CO where this type of snow is not uncommon, but this past winter it was even worse and we were in major survival mode for over a month, especially with the roof issues. It was exhausting, physically and mentally. Sorry that you had to go through this, but grateful for the share. Your attitude and energy are inspirational and continue to bolster my resolve.
Thanks for sharing, all that snow makes for a lot of work and problems, but the end shots of your property is no denying it's also beautiful. Your property looks so beautiful covered in white! Stay safe & warm
That footage at the end was lovely. I can't even imagine what it is like to have snow let alone that much !!! ( Aussie girl here ). After all the hard work you put into your garden just to have it freeze over is just mind blowing. I admire you heaps. Keep up the great work and videos.
This is definitely a strange winter for many. Those of us living in California who, after going through a terrible drought last year, are now getting soaked with rain to the point of floods. Crazy.
I'm so sorry you got so much snow. We used to get snow like that here in IL when I was a kid, 50 yrs ago. But now our winters are usually pretty mild, though bitterly cold. We were "supposedly" the coldest place on the planet at one point last year...-78 degrees. I hope that pattern -- light snow only -- reaches your area soon. Blessings.
I would take snow over tornadoes and hurricanes any time. We had 4 feet of snow the winter before we left the PCNW. Glad to see you got the main buildings taken care of.
Hi I'm from Lincoln a small town in England and I love watching you and your videos. All that snow, can't believe how much you guys have, if we get an inch everything grinds to a halt. Happy snow clearing!
Wow..I live in Australia..it's our summer so we are sweltering at the moment!...this will be an experience to talk about in years to come..best wishes getting through it all.
I remember this! We called it snowmageddon here in the Tri-cities, our kids were out of school a week and I was digging trails every day to the barn. I took some drone footage of my dogs walking the trail.
Hi Aaron & Laura, It's Sunday. Hopefully, you are all safe. Wondering how your trees are holding out, hopefully, none of them have broken. Take care and be safe out there. PS, Laura, no more falling off roofs!
We're in the snowbelt in CNY and we STILL have no snow on the ground. NO SNOW! It was in the 50's today and everyone was out walking the paths. The chickens were having a great time free ranging AND I added some cardboard to our bare garden portion to get ready for the lasagna garden this spring. I've been giddy with joy. CNY is NEVER-EVER like this. Buffalo and my county in Oswego usually get about as much as you get. We have NOTHING. I'm sorry your getting so much devistation. You'll enjoy spring and summer much more this year. Keep warm!
I live in the D.C. Area, one of those places that used to drop everything and shut down at an hint of snow. Surprisingly, we have actually grown up! We may shy at the first hint in the season, but after that we get our road in our neighborhood done the first night by the County, and we live in a huge county, with more than a million people and we still have some rural areas! It's kind of a bummer because I love being stuck inside. My idea of shoveling snow is to write a check to someone else. Loved those shots and the music at the end.
My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm in Twin Falls and we have had a record year also. Snow removal from our turn of the century house is super important too. Every time we get the majority off we get hit again. The worst part is my front yard and driveway. We live on the major street in town and the snow plows come through and build 3 ft. snow mounds blocking us in. Plus whatever mother nature gave us again. Shoveling is our life.
wow. so sad to see the devastation. being in florida, we are used to seeing things like this after hurricanes or tornados, but i have never really thought about the weightiness of snow. thanks for sharing
WOW. So sorry for you all. As much as you love your flowers you would really love living in a warmer state I enjoy your videos. I have been watching on a regular bases. Love Love flowers From indiana
Ugh. So sorry. A couple of years ago in Montana we had tons and tons of snow and they had to ship it all in trucks out of the towns because snow plows had no where to move it to anymore. I had poor tires that year and I spent so much of the winter stuck in the snow. Hang in there you guys! the worst of it is almost over!
No, Thank you. My daughter said "Wow, mom lets move to Oregon." Nope, I think I might stay in dry desert west Texas. (for now) Sorry you're having to deal with such a mess of beautiful snow. You are truly blessed to have such great friends to help dig you out. You are right, people here do freak out for just a thin translucent covering of snow on the ground.
This was one of my fav videos, not sure how I missed it. You have no idea how much people would pay to see snow like this. I live in Australia and we have the same summers as you do there but nothing like the winters... so jealous!! Loved seeing your everyday life and convos you have. Cant wait to see what your winter looks like this year.
This is crazy! We have gotten SO much rain in Indiana with crazy warm temperatures. Had it been cold, we'd have had the same problems of collapsing buildings and just not equipped for the quantity! Stay safe!
Wow, y'all are getting slammed! I'm from Georgia and currently live in NW Washington and what we got last month was enough for me! I pray you all have no more damage and no more snow comes your way.
Oh it is amazing the amount of snow you guys had, but to me it looks lovely not so much to you. Sad to see the amount of damage it has bought. It is nice to see a glimpse of your life. We are exhausted by the heat of summer at the moment. This year has been particularly hot and humid with very little rain in my little corner of northern NSW Australia, but can't complain it has been even hotter in other parts. Hope that it gets better for you real soon.
For our part of the country, 12'"of snow is just a 'dusting'! lol If you add a roof rake to your winter equipment, it will save you a lot of roof shoveling and falling/sliding off of your roof. Make sure to buy the extensions for it to get the higher spots. We live in northern NY, by the Canadian border...average snow fall up to 5' or more a year, zone 4.
I love watching your vlogs. I hate that you guys are getting as much snow as you are and I hope it eases off! But nonetheless, I still love when you bring us along anywhere.
Snowmageddon was something unbelievable here in the Treasure Valley. Some people here in Boise couldn't even drive down their side streets. I bought a roof rake for snow removal a few years ago for the next big storm. Haven't needed to use it yet.
Hey Laura love your videos and you are not over reacting, we live in Moncton New Brunswick Canada and we get snow but usually not over 12 inches but one winter in particular we got snow like that and a lot of people where not ready and roofs collapsed and a horse barn killing 3horses so stay safe be careful shovelling take breaks...you guys really need a snow blower any way just keep thinking spring Laura 🌺🌻💐🌸🌷
Just love you guys....just found your channel and I have been binge watching like crazy. Hope you have a better winter with less snow. I live in N Cal and we have been having tremendously hot weather, 116 range. Thanks to you I have a newfound excitement for gardening. Haven't been really great at it, but with your help am excited to try again.
I'm from an area a little north of Atlanta GA and we don't get much snow at all. When we do it's not "true" snow. Its a mixture of snow and ice or just ice. I think that's what makes it different from what northern states get. The ice makes the roads very dangerous to drive on. I can't imagine having the amount of snow you have and having to shovel your way out. After watching the video I really felt for you. Thanks for sharing.
Wow , this came on my you tube. That’s what I’d call a big snow. In last 10 years we’ve had 2 big snows. Side roads impossible , our wonderful son got salt & grit main roads ok By comparison to you it was only 2 feet. Mesmerised looking at snow damage , houses roofs would not fall in wit even heavy snow ( I think) People get very friendly & helpful during times like this. Not sure what month ur fall of snow was. ALOT OF PROGRESS SINCE IN UR BEAUTIFUL GARDEN 💐from Ireland
I'm a native Minnesotan so this is par for the course for us but very interesting to see how this type of snowfall would effect infrastructure in other parts of the country. We sometimes get 3 ft at a time and life is back to normal by the next day. I have a whole new appreciated for our dept of Transportation!!
Watching 9/24. Your video is not boring. We don't get snow like that but you have showed one should always be prepared. Have you had other years with that much snow. Stay safe. Thank you❤❤❤❤
Hey Laura and Arron so sorry to see all this snow you guys have been having and dealing with , Victoria BC on Vancouver Island was hit with about a foot of snow months ago and the city shut down . then it got very cold and very windy the wind chill was about -3 to -5 we are not use to this at all. Victoria being the warmest part of BC . we are not used to ice and black ice at all here . but got though it , we will being thinking of you all stay safe prayers and blessings .i was amazed at the all those buildings and the damage ,Thanks for sharing we love to see what's going on in your neck of the woods so very sad for your situation . and can't believe all that snow on the property .... let Arron know we love the Areal views please keep us up to date if you can and have the time too. so sorry to hear about the buildings. I hope nobody got hurt. I was so over the snow too! it was just way too much😣 a lot of our snow had just started to melt and the temp went up a bit and some melted but the remnants of the major fall is still around. I hope it's getting better for you guys! xo
So enjoyed the video! Y'all please be careful with those ladders and the roof! So many terrible injuries every year with ladders. Very impressed with how much snow you two managed to get off so late in the evening! Your property is so beautiful from the air! Know you must love it and feel blessed!
WOW! that's a lot of snow but it's beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us and please be safe out there. Especially on the roof tops.
Thanks for sharing, all that snow makes for a lot of work and problems, but the end shots of your property is no denying it's also beautiful. Your property looks so beautiful covered in white! Stay safe & warm
It's def not boring! Do more if you can, praying for your area! Stay warm and dry, sending you humidity and sunshine from Houston!
Praying the weather has eased up for you all! The snow is beautiful but boy it really can be destructive. Stay safe and thank you as always ;)
not boring at all from this Phoenician prospective - had no idea what all is involved to survive in your climate. keep on shoveling, and stay safe!
Blessings.
This came up in my suggestions on the first day of summer, 2018. My how our lives change! Looking forward to more videos. Thanks for sharing!
I’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
We're in Ontario, Canada--have snow like this every winter! It's nice to know we're not
the only ones!! Love your program..............E.
WOW! I just watched this in December 2023……what a mess to deal with. I certainly hope no person or animal perished during this time💝💝
I would take snow over tornadoes and hurricanes any time.
Hi Aaron & Laura,
It's Sunday. Hopefully, you are all safe.
Wondering how your trees are holding out, hopefully, none of them have broken. Take care and be safe out there.
PS, Laura, no more falling off roofs!
It's part of home ownership. Helps us grow. You're doing an awesome job. Thanks for sharing.
Sending prayers your way. It's no easy task keeping up on that! I'm from ND so we're used to that much snow and we've been hammered this year too.
WOW. So sorry for you all. As much as you love your flowers you would really love living in a warmer state I enjoy your videos. I have been watching on a regular bases. Love Love flowers From indiana
CameraGuy: good work today/yesterday guys. You no doubt worked hard and I'm sure bed felt really good! Take care;stay safe - Jerry
Hey Kim!!! Love your videos
I’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
Ugh.
(for now)
Sorry you're having to deal with such a mess of beautiful snow.
I’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?
when i look at your beautiful gardens now i cant imagine it all being covered in snow.
This is crazy! We have gotten SO much rain in Indiana with crazy warm temperatures. Had it been cold, we'd have had the same problems of collapsing buildings and just not equipped for the quantity! Stay safe!
As a native Floridian, I am not bored watching your snow video!
Wow, y'all are getting slammed! I'm from Georgia and currently live in NW Washington and what we got last month was enough for me! I pray you all have no more damage and no more snow comes your way.
The drone footage was so beautiful
I’m really impressed with your comment, if you don’t mind friendship where are you from?

Thanks for sharing.
so nice to see dexter safe and warm inside the house 🐈🐈.. i love all your videos... 😊☺
Wow , this came on my you tube. That’s what I’d call a big snow. In last 10 years we’ve had 2 big snows. Side roads impossible , our wonderful son got salt & grit main roads ok
By comparison to you it was only 2 feet. Mesmerised looking at snow damage , houses roofs would not fall in wit even heavy snow ( I think)
People get very friendly & helpful during times like this.
I'm from India and i never ever saw snow fall in my life... it wasn't boring, actually it was fun seeing all snow around. Love ur voice.☺️
Watching 9/24.
Your video is not boring. We don't get snow like that but you have showed one should always be prepared. Have you had other years with that much snow.
Stay safe.
Thank you❤❤❤❤
My goodness so much snow, you guys stay safe and keep warm.

Oh my goodness I loved that part at the end! Just beautiful! However, I understand and sympathize with what you're going through. Praying for you all!
This Texas gal does not like being COLD n stuck in the Haus.😲
I LOVE CYCLAMENS! So great for Winter. Beautiful colors to brighten up gloomy gray days 💮🌻🌸
Cindy Fairchild :)
Oh please, please be safe Laura! I'm glad you found a ladder though. I think the drone footage was so pretty. Your house & property is gorgeous!
🌾Merry meet 🌿
What a view! It's beautiful! I know enough is enough. Such a big beautiful home. Have you done a video of the inside of your home? I would love to see it in its entirety.
Just beautiful! I live in C.S Colorado. We get a little snow but nothing like this. I love the snow but then I do not have to shovel it. 🤗 I always enjoy your videos. Never boring. lol lee
What an adventure. In Montana we were used to lots of snow but it can be a challenge. ❤
Your hair looks fabulous thru all that now shoveling! Very thankful for my life in TX - no way I can shovel snow from a roof!
so sorry to hear about the buildings. I hope nobody got hurt. I was so over the snow too! it was just way too much😣 a lot of our snow had just started to melt and the temp went up a bit and some melted but the remnants of the major fall is still around. I hope it's getting better for you guys! xo
So glad that you guys are OK, thinking warm thoughts for you.
I can't wait for this summer and to see some aireil shots. You all are in my prayers
Your land is so beautiful. I love Aaron's drone work !
So enjoyed the video! Y'all please be careful with those ladders and the roof! So many terrible injuries every year with ladders. Very impressed with how much snow you two managed to get off so late in the evening! Your property is so beautiful from the air! Know you must love it and feel blessed! Can't wait to see the new projects you mentioned that are to come (succulents). I live in one of those places you talked about laughing at (NC) and we would love to have a bit of what you now have. Just rain here for now though. Take care of yourselves! God bless!
I think we're done with ladders and the roof (unless, God forbid, we get a bunch more snow). I slept SO much better knowing there wasn't so much weight right above our bed. ;)
Thanks for sharing! So sorry that you and you're family are going thru all that. Keep us updated if you can! :-) Praying for you and your family!! :-) Stay warm!!
I just stumbled upon your channel by accident tonight and I live in La Grande. This snow is crazy, it's been slowing down business for us, I hope it's over soon. Thanks for the great videos. I'm getting married in May and watched your video on making a bouquet with succulents.
Such a beautiful property... Hang in there, spring is coming!
You are such a hard worker that you guys deseved all the goodies that is getting to you. It looks amaizing
