As a left handed crocheter, I was taught by my right handed Mom. She taught me by having me sitting facing her which was the mirror image. I have learned how to do the reverse of the right handed videos except the magic circle. U are wonderful & I thank you so very much for this video because, this youngster @ 67 yrs. has accomplished the magic circle. Now, I can teach my Mom who still crochets @ 87 yrs. young.
Good for you, fellow lefty! I tried to teach my right handed mother to crochet but could not. She stuck to her knitting which she taught me nearly 50 years ago! And so wonderful your mother was able to teach you! 💕
I never comment on videos but I had to say thank you so much for making this left-handed version, this seemed utterly impossible when watching other videos. I have my own magic ring now! Thank you.
Excellent instructions, I taught myself (a left hander) to crochet back in 1983. I taught myself just by reading patterns. Whenever the pattern mentioned right hand, I used my left hand. No one wanted to teach me because I was left handed. I can crochet almost anything with a pattern, but some patterns are written better than others. It’s nice to have these UA-cam videos for specific things. I still follow written patterns.
Oh my goodness I can’t thank you enough!! This is the 5th video I’ve watched and you made it so clear. Finding left handed instructions is hard enough and yours are perfect. This is the best way I’ve seen to clearly demonstrate the magic ring!❤
Thank you so much, I am a left handed crochet and knitter enthusiast who has been doing this for almost 50 years. I had to teach myself everything left handed. This is something I never heard of before. You made it so enjoyable I only wish I had you all those years ago would have saved me a lot of angst!!!
Ok after all these years I just successfully made a magic ring. I am self taught left handed. Your video is the first time seeing it from a left handed perspective, the light just came on😃. Thank you.
I have looked at many videos of the left handed magic ring and this is the only one I could understand and follow along with. Thank you very much! Liked and favourited(:
After struggling with right handed versions for longer than I can remember, I've at last mastered the magic ring! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeee! Thank you very much - why didn't I look for this before!
Thanks so much! I watched this several times and succeeded. I am making hedgehog fidgets for my students and couldn't figure it out. The photos were right handed so it didn't make sense. Your video was so helpful!
Thank you so much - I have struggled to get the magic ring correct for years and mostly fudged it. This is the clearest left handed explanation I've found.
absolutely delightful tutorial for us lefties! VERY clear visual and verbal instruction. I got it right the first time around (pun intended) :) saved for future reference, thank you!
Im amazed by how user friendly your instruction are, especially for those of us who are left handed. You are taking the frustration out of the process of learning to crochet. Im having fun! Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting the left-handed instructional videos: After trying to reverse the instructions for several right-handed instructional videos, I was getting increasingly frustrated! This made it very easy to understand!
I have never been able to make a magic ring before. Yours is the first video that was easy to follow and I was able to do it first time. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for this lefty demonstration. I've had to "translate" right handed videos and this was awesome not having to do that! I'm mainly a knitter but do crochet and am about to start a toy bear where I will need this technique. Thanks, again. 🙂
thank you for sharing this. I have looked at several left handed versions and this is the first one that actually made sense and included useful tips. Now, my projects should cooperate and look much better. :) i hope LOL thx
What a lovely video - I had a really easy time following along with you, and I had trouble following along with any of the other magic ring videos I've watched. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I also was having a terrible time recreating what I saw on a 'righty' magic ring video as a 'lefty'! You've made my day :D
Thanks for make it so clear not only did I finally learn how to do the magic ring properly, I also realize that I been making a huge mistake whit my previous work. Thank for showing me my mistakes :P
Thanks so much. I was trying to convert right hand instructions but they all seemed so complicated, loops all over the place. Your version is simple and easy to understand.
Thank you for this video! I had forgotten how to do the magic ring. I do remember that I used to have a little trick for getting the hole to stay closed. After a few rows when I wanted to tighten it, I would actually split the tail in two by separating the 4-ply yarn, and then I'd tie the two pieces together in a knot. That always kept the hole nice and tight. Anyway, I've watched several of your tutorials & especially appreciate that you do them for lefties! Thanks!
Thank you for posting this left-handed magic ring instructional & demonstrational video. Your style is so easy to understand. I really appreciate your help!
Thank you SO much!!!! I am so grateful that you posted this as I've tried really hard to figure this out from a right-handed video. Didn't realize I was doing it incorrectly until I found your video.
Thank you so much for making the left-handed version. But I often have trouble telling the right vs wrong side. Is the right side withhout the yarn tail?
ive rewatched this video about 20 times and i cant catch on. im crying in my bed because im so frustrated. and ik its not your fault because according to the comment section im the only person who is not understanding
I used the magic ring on a baby blanket that had about 200 small Afghan squares. When my daughter in law washed it the squares came undone. So I am scared to use this method again. What did I do wrong?
Every time i get close to succeeding and ive been working on this for days watching every left handed video i could find and the closest i can get is half a circle with all 6 stitches i dont understand. Ik i have adhd but jeeze this is making me feel stupid
What do you mean, working yarn, nooooo, my brain works like the one of a five year old so this is confusing, I need step by step instructions that I understand, this just made me mad and stressed trying to do the magic ring
It's okay, take a breath and go through it slowly - it may take a few watch throughs before you understand. The working yarn is the long end that goes to the ball of yarn (as opposed to the starting tail, which is the short end you started with when you made the loop). You can do this!

You’re welcome 😊
I have looked at many videos of the left handed magic ring and this is the only one I could understand and follow along with. Thank you very much! Liked and favourited(:
Awesome. I could not figure this out from books. This and the reverse single stitch kills me as a lefty. I can do the ring now. You are awesome!
After struggling with right handed versions for longer than I can remember, I've at last mastered the magic ring! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeee! Thank you very much - why didn't I look for this before!
thank god for this left-handed version! found it impossible to learn this when watching the right-handed ones
Yay, you're welcome! I have left-handed versions of all my crochet tutorials - it's much easier to learn when you see it from your own point of view 😊

You're very welcome!

What a GREAT tutorial. I've only been crocheting for a few months and just couldn't master this. I can now, thank you.

Every time i get close to succeeding and ive been working on this for days watching every left handed video i could find and the closest i can get is half a circle with all 6 stitches i dont understand. Ik i have adhd but jeeze this is making me feel stupid
Im new to this. Ive made some progress but i keep finding yarn looped in places i didnt put it lol persistence is key ig
After five months of trying, this is the only video that I’ve able to make a magic circle without my yarn, turning into a knot
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so muchh

All my magic rings are disasters please help
I still can't do this!
I am left handed but no matter how hard i listen and watch and follow it does NOT turn out right lmao. Good tutorial though! I do recommend
Making the initial loop instructions were very helpful but you went too fast to follow on how you did the second round of stitches
