There is supposed to be a difference between the runners. The truform is supposed to be the best to promote proper running form, because the arch is shallower.
The assault is good but different (the assault connects to Zwift - a biking/ running app with training plans... out of the box for people that are interested in making running interactive)
Some manufactures claim a difference between shock absorption.
Another runner to consider is aussiefitness, it looks like it would fit well in your gym.
