Perfect in the sense that its the most stay true to the previously established concept. But the market though. It was released with poor timing and marketing. 7 was the first 3d rpg from the series. Raving reviews despite the clusterfak of a storyline. 9 was released at the end of ps1 era. Wasnt market much in the west. It was super big in japan. Soon after its western release, we got ps2. I consider FFIX to be where Square leveled up. Uematsu is a master, and this is where he shined brightest to me. 9 will probably be the one I end up playing through more than 7 when all is said and done.

Alternate Fantasy is so fun, such a huge improvement in difficulty and challenge and I think my favourite part is that it enables excalibur II via getting basically all of the hidden treasures and chests. What a good change
Love Moguri Mod Was playing on the old moguri mod and just recently did a new PC build not knowing there was an update. It was a lovely surprise when I reinstalled and gave the game a boot. This update is a gamechanger!
Ever since I first played FFIX in 2001 it has been my favorite game, and in the entire game I had only one criticism, or perhaps desire is a better word. I thought Beatrix should have been a permanent party member. She was my favorite character, I thought she was so F-ing cool, I really dreamed about this for years. But I always had this sad knowledge that that was something I'd never get....and then suddenly I did, suddenly FFIX was on steam and Tirlititi made a mod that not only made Beatrix a permanent party member, but even gave her trance, abilities, and even added her into cutscenes. This was literally all I ever wanted from FFIX, literally a childhood dream come true, and like I suspected it just feels right, like this was like it was always meant to be. So because of that I have to name that my favorite mod of FFIX, and anything, ever. It's my definitive way to play the game, and although it works together with Moguri, if I had to choose to play with only one, I'd play with Beatrix.
I'm probably in the minority but I hate the way the characters look (at least the ones shown in this video). The backgrounds look pretty great though. If they could get the character models to look a little closer to something that looks like the cutscenes in FFT: War of the Lions I think I would like it a lot more. The characters look like they're from a flash game or have that jarring Dragon Quest art style with the really thick lines that I find offputting. With that said, it's a fantastic project and I'd be interested to see what the other art assets/styles look like. I'm glad this popped up in my feed.
It looks good, but it more so not inline with the Fix "artstyle" since the mod made it look more like the 2d comic artstyle look. And it clashes with how the fmv depicts the characters.
Haven't been able to play more than a few hours because I HATE the character design. People get so butt hurt when I say it, but Zidane is the worst looking protagonist in any game ever.
I was playing the Moguri mod likea month ago and ngl I was put off by how garbled the AI upscaling looked in a LOT of places, but from what you're showing here it looks like a lot of that has been significantly improved so I may give it another shot
Makes me want to do another playthrough, but I haven't finish my last one, I was just before the end where it's time to gather everything you want like the best weapons for everyone
This was the first final fantasy I ever played and damn what a first adventure it was. I was poor (still kinda am, thanks BIDENOMICS 😆) and played it on my computer with a PS emulator. It was 4 discs. One day... when I got enough spare time, I might get the chance to play this again
It looks like Samurai Legend Musashi graphics. Interesting. But I think the backgrounds should be modified too to blend well with it. It has that comic book feel like FFT and Vagrant Story. I really dig those art styles.
Stable Diffusion is primarily a photo producing and upscaling AI. It can be run via google collab, or locally(almost certainly locally in this case) It is an amazing tool and I recommend it highly.
I only ever played the game when it was current, and didn't even finish it. Is this mod considered feature complete from start to finish? Are there a bunch of stuff that's still not implemented? Like certain areas are other assets that still aren't touched?

It has this Star Ocean 2 Remake feel to it. Just hope they modded the music, too. Now that alone is worth the 30 to 40 hours! Thank you, for the video. Fun fact, my favorite Final Fantasy in terms of endings. That ending was pure cinema!
woow, I beat the game not long ago in moguri mod 8, but this is wowww... amazing. Thanks! It looks like an remake, runs smooth and I am happy with it even if we never get FF IX remake.
Guys I launched the game with the patch, set "model outlines" or "realistic" in the advanced settings, but when I start the game it doesn't apply these advanced settings. So I see the characters just like if there wasn't a patch, both in battle and outside. Some of you know what could fix this?
This game, was the only RPG game I have ever completed on the PS1, about three years ago. (Please don't judge). In the 90's RPG games was a genre that I always admired and was fascinated with. Back then I never understood them like I do now. And if I had, I would have completed "Lunar" for the Sega CD instead of selling my entire game collection. huge regret!

It's strange how many at Square Enix said their favorite was FFIX yet they've never come around to making a remix of it
