Hi Stew, I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your first people introductions on your podcast, it is very informative, respectful and I thank you for that! Take care,Melissa.
My 50’s were amazing, I just felt I was more wise and that I could just relax and enjoy everyday. I lamented all the years I tried to please others, worried about my weight, my inability to say no when I should have and other silly things. I just turned 70 , I can’t believe how fast time is going the older I get😳. Enjoy your 50’s, just enjoy life, treasure the small things that give you joy everyday and all the family time you can manage🥰🙋🏼♀️
Beautiful wisdom here 👌🏼🥰 Thank you so much @jillipepper5353 I am grateful to be heading into the Afternoon of my life knowing what really matters. 🌸🙏🏼🤍
I mark the back of my sweaters with a tiny yarn loop in a different (but not necessarily high contrast) color. It makes a soft little marker and I can use one of those tiny little yarn-ends that accumulate. I am glad you celebrated your birthday in the way you wanted. I really appreciate that you enjoy the little things that bring you joy -- for me, that makes each day special.
Hi Leanne Carol C here. It was a thrill and delight to meet you. Now I’ll demand all my family watch a knitting podcast because I’m in it! Lol. I’m glad you are friends with Winnipeg again and I look forward to seeing your rainbow socks. You are an inspiration for sure! ❤😊
You're a beautiful 50 yr old. I was 76 on mother's day. Your Ito purchase was a happy mistake. The colors of the Love Notes look great. I'm enjoying this video first thing in the AM with a cup of coffee. What a perfect way to start the day. Thanks for your scenic tours and yarn info. Your projects are so fun to see progressing.
That acorn needle gauge is cute, and of course the tea and yarn coordinate! I enjoy Bengal Spice as iced tea- a hint of sweetness without sugar. I love the blue/green lace weight with the dark green. I have a similar dark green color and have had a difficult time finding a pattern where the stitches show up, but unfortunately my climate is too warm to add mohair.
Happy 50th Leanne, enjoy life and follow your heart. When I celebrated my 50th I felt like it was new beginnings and I also decided I would eat ice cream whenever I feel like it and have no regrets😁😉
Love the color of your Love Note and the song along with it. 🤭🎵 Thanks for sharing the Winnipeg footage and facts. Thank you so much for the shoutout. I feel so honored! 💜🧶
Hi Leanne, I haven't finished watching your whole podcast but I was just going to block my Throwover Pullover by Andrea Mowry. Then I remember you asking for TIPS RECOGNIZING THE BACK OF A SWEATER. This is ONLY if you did short rows shaping. Hold the bottom of the sweater front and back upside down in one hand and it's obvious to see the neck line higher for the back. Sorry, I put this in large letters but I wanted you to see this comment for sure. I usually do a thumbs up when I finish a podcast too. This way I know I've seen it.
BAM 💥 welcome to the 50s club 💪🏻💕 fun as always!! Love the Anker, might have to make another one 🤦♀️🤣 loved the love note intro - had me smiling like crazy, that yarn combo is so good! Your hair is gorg, so shiny. Happy flying and knitting and thanks for the joy! Horacio is too cute 🥰
I'm here after watching you on FiberChats with Irina. Thanks for highlighting The Peg. Happy belated BAM. I celebrate ABC - anniversary, birthdays x3 and Christmas all within 2 weeks in December.
Lovely episode Leanne…. I was getting worried that you'd be late for your flight ✈️ 😂😂😂😂 sorry you missed your Montreal layover. Love your Lovenotes sweater….when I first saw you, I was like is that the Ranunculus? There were a LOT of Ranunculi at KnitCity 😂. So keep on soaring Leanne…. 50 is a wonderful age 🎉 😘
Hi Leanne! Just playing catch-up with all my lovely podcasting friends 🤗 I am knitting the Bressay Dress from the Fair Isle Style book and had planned to also make those mushroom fingerless mitts so I'm super appreciative of the head's up about the lack of thumb gusset! Your Love Note looks so beautiful on you 😍 Hope you're having a lovely weekend 💕
Nikki I am doing the exact same thing! I’m alllmost caught with my faves - just you, Inga, and Finnish Knitting Stories left. The Bressay Dress 🥰😍 oh my goodness yessss!
How disappointing that you missed out on meeting your friends in Montreal!!😆 I had to laugh when you showed your progress keeper as a marker for the back…cause I do that! It’s already there😂 I have a love/hate relationship with Winnipeg. My husband (back then boyfriend) was there for school…long distance relationship-4yrs!! (no internet back then!!) but that’s also where he proposed 💍 love your 2new sweaters🤗🥰 happy belated birthday!🥳
Happy BAM Stew😍🤩How Great is Life and your joy thru this podcast. True coincidence , I have Birthday, Anniversary, Mothers Day, all one week apart as well - thx for the new name (BAM). Love all the podcast reviews and special tips on makes - learning all the time.
Interesting...I too celebrate Birthday/Anniversary/Mothers Day...then there is Birthday(spouse)/FathersDay...and the beat goes on. When do I find time to knit. Easy. That's every day.
Happy Birthday!!! I’m about to enter my 40s, 😮, but I’ve adopted the “I don’t care about my age or even acknowledge it(beyond what I need to for health)” philosophy. 😂. I just keep doing my thing.
My first-ever Arcane yarn will arrive today. There were so many pretty colours to choose from, but in the end, i ordered Saint Nick....I've been eyeing that one for a while, maybe because I've had a lifelong crush on Kurt Russell 🫢😄. I may join in on that Rainbow MAL...I'm hoping that Songbird Yarn out of Stratford, Ontario will be releasing a colour for this year's Pride month. I bought a sweater's quantity last year and it was so pretty. She donates some of the proceeds to an LGBTQ youth support group in her area.
Your videos bring me joy. Happy Birthday!❤🎂The celebration ends at midnight on the 31st. 😉 Your FOs turned out so beautiful. I need to check out that Summer Shirt. Your production time on it was amazing. I've visited the 'Peg twice and it is a neat city. I remember traveling from the mall by public transit in June or July and it wasn't quite dark though it was heading to 11 pm - I was so confused by the time. lol Thank you for showing off our Canadian cities to the world. As a fellow Canuck who lives in the U.S. it is a special treat for me. Most of the YT maker content that I see is from American cities and it's nice to see my country being featured. Through your recommendations I have found a few more Canadian YT makers.
It sounds like BAM was great. Happy belated. 50 is a number and it’s a good one! Thank for your podcast. I love your Anka’s tee, it looks really good on you and your Love Note! Wow! So good! Thanks, Leanne! Friendly skies!
I agree with jillipepper (what a cute name)....I just turned 70 also - funny how age changes what we worry about - buy my Grandma said that Mothers worry and Grandmothers pray - I am both - still do both....but in the big picture, life is good. Sending you safe hugs and happy skies. (and you certainly do NOT look your age, keep up the good work and genuine podcast). 🧶
Hi Leanne!! It's Jaylene from the @cutbankgirls : ) Happy Bday - I will be 50 as well in August and am fully welcoming all life has for me - I loved your saying "the rest of my life is the best of my life"!! I seriously love this knitting community and all the inspiration and feeling of connection it brings. Take care and have fun knitting and squishing that taffy wave shawl!! xoxoxo
Happy BAM-love how you celebrated. And your KNITS- love your Love Note- great colour- I have made one for me (first sweater I knit for me in 55 years-lol) and one for my sister’s 75th birthday last year- love them both and have been humming the LoveBoat ever since- thank you for the ear worm, Leanne. I am going to have to make the Anker for me too- I made a little Anker cardigan for my 2 year old granddaughter, Emiko, and loved knitting it and it fits her really well-I found it knit up quickly for me too-really addictive. So sorry you didn’t make it to Montreal to hang with Selma, Megha, and Mel and enjoy the festival-that would have been a blast. Glad Winnipeg provided solace. My dad was born and raised there, then left and never went back- lol. I visited with my daughter years ago and we visited all the houses daddy lived in including the one my grandad built- very much a history trip. I had to laugh when you mentioned Napoleon Dynamite- two of my kids used to quote from this movie ad nauseum and laugh like crazy-lol. Now I want to buy all the yarns and knit all the things- thanks for another lovely podcast and from the Peg. 💕
Thank you for this great message Jennifer. It is so worth the effort to make these episodes. I really got to ‘connect’ with YWG and lucking was there went it wasn’t scorching hot! P.S. Sorry about the ear worm… such a great song though. Loved that show!
Still loving ♥️ that red hat!! The black top is great and you’ve got me thinking about a love note. Everything is beautiful! Looking forward to WIP completions. The mushroom glove colorwork is amazing - too bad you didn’t like the thumb. Take care and be blessed!!
GM Leanne You look so sweet in your Anker summer shirt .. just love it !!! The love note looks amazing on you also wow And 50 you do not look 50!!!! Very youthful girl 😊 Have a great week ahead and enjoy what you love to do 😊💝🇨🇦🇨🇦
Hi! I made a fuchsia Love Note and have a dark purple one on deck. I won't be able to work on it over the summer...humidity + mohair and no a/c is not a good combination. I just started watching another podcast because the preview picture had her in a tealish blue Love Note! Yours came out fabulous! Happy belated birthday. And I am still adding to my retirement/stash fund....next week is the Massachusetts's Sheep and Wool. I didn't get too much at the Connecticut Sheep and Wool, a couple of bags and yarn from a local dyer to make a vest type something....
Congrats on your 1 year Podiversary. I have loved every one of your episodes. Thank you for all the hours of enjoyment and knitting chair travel. The yarn combo in your Love Note is gorgeous. It’s such a great pattern. Winnipeg is my mother’s birthplace and where my maternal family landed when they emigrated from Russia in 1907. The first time I visited there was in the month of December……..wow that place was frigid 🥶 Having also visited during the summer months I got a chance to see what a beautiful city it is. Enjoy all the BAM celebrations this month❤
You're in Winnipeg! By coincidence, just this weekend, I reread Carol Shields' _Republic of Love_ set in Winnipeg. Her novel is how I first focused on Winnipeg! Thank you for another great episode!
My no buy for 2023 lasted 9 months. I went to a local wool festival and then in October I attended Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival for the first time! That totally blew my no buy. But... doing the no buy beginning in January 2024. I mark the front and back of my sweaters with a few short rows under the yoke in the back of the sweater. It automatically falls right where the neckline is lower in front.
Hi Leann, So good to see you. Happy 50, you look great!! You have a lovely singing voice. Your Anker's sweater is so pretty, and your Love Note is gorgeous. You are so right the colors do sing. I'm so glad you talked about the Ladder Back Jacquard method of stranded knitting, I hope you will let us know how it works out for you, I would like to try it. It was so lovely spending time with you, take care and I'll look forward to our next visit.
Thank you Dee! I am really going to give the LBJ technique all my best efforts. I am feeling fairly confident and will push myself out of my comfort zone because I think this is worth it and I will let y’all know how it goes.
Wolseley Kombucha is so good, they definitely are a nice treat. I'm not a huge kombucha fan, but I do love theirs. You got to stop in at Wolseley Wool! I love it there, and I love Dye For Ewe. All the socks I've made from her yarn are my favourites, you're going to love knitting those socks up. Thanks again for a lovely hangout :)
It’s always such a joy to see u pop up in my UA-cam thumbnails! Sad you didn’t get to hang out w Selma, Mel (pretty sure Mel would be awesome to chill n chat w), and the others! Happy you made up w Winnipeg and what a great yarn shop! My mostly frogged lento is still in timeout, but I’m half thru a dingley dell tee, and I started a blanket (throw) cuz of course I did lol. Happy travels!
Thank you, Nikki!! It was a bummer about Montreal, but I am so glad our Pilots didn’t have to strike… and apparently I needed to make peace with Winnipeg ☺️. Thanks for being here and happy knitting to you!
Hello Leanne. As always, enjoyed catching up with you on your travels. I too love Teti Lutsak, her designs are gorgeous and one of my(3) projects is her Arrow Sweater. Happy belated birthday wishes to you and safe flying❤
So happy to hear you had the best time for your birthday! I love your fos. I fully understand what you say about the Ankers as I knitted one in the past and it did fly off my needles too. The lovenote is a staple I haven’t tried yet, but after seeing yours, it has now jumped quite high up in my list. That blue silk in your mohair is sensational!!! Can I do anything to get one of your flights accidentally take a detour to Australia and get to know you in person!? 😅 I suppose not…pity!! Will catch up here again next time xxx
Good morning Leanne, well I’m getting ready to watch mass on TV so I have to go but I just wanted to say happy birthday to you. I missed it in May because I wasn’t on UA-cam and May so it’s nice to watch you and I think Yana is piling up you’re going to have to have more giveaways I think, love you hats and your shawl and that sweater you have on is lovely and I may have to get trying to knit again more often. Anyway, have a nice day today is Palm Sunday here in Massachusetts and looking forward to Easter. I made an Easter basket but I’m afraid I had trouble following directions so it’s Connie and, so be it love you bye-bye
Happy belated all celebration events. I’ve put a “made by me” labels on the back outside of a pullover…oh your sweater is inside out…No it’s not. Thanks for another fun episode. Will have to eventually make it to Manitoba (and Saskatchewan), only provinces I haven’t been to.
Back in the '60s, there was a fad for wrapping angora around rings to adjust the fit. You wouldn't want to use angora, but maybe some of your Ito or other lace weight, would stylishly adjust the fit of the yarn ring. Also, i remember my mother-in-law, who lived into her 90s, telling me that life begins at 50.
Thank you so much for your lovely podcast. I really enjoy your knits and I am also loving the parts, which makes your podcast very special: introducing some of the Canadian parts / cities combined with the mentioning of the indigenous people! (I've never been to Canada and feel very blessed to be shown something of your great country.)
Your Love Note is beautiful. One of my favs. And your black T is great too. You are so flexible with schedules, etc. Hope your summer is as planned. Happy belated birthday. I usually do a small loop at the back of my sweaters. BUT I rather like the thought of a pretty flattish marker as an options.
So pleased you got to enjoy your birthday Leann...enjoy your 50s...I sm in my last year of 70s and enjoy every year. Thanks for taking us on your travels and love your new tops...they are on ny todo list. Take care and safe travels..greetings from South Africa. 🇿🇦
Thank you for sharing aboutWinnipeg. Love your Love Note and your Ankers Summer Tee. I’m currently working on the Summer Tee but haven’t gotten very far since the Tosta Tee caught my eye and I started that one. It sounds like you had a wonderful birthday and Mother’s Day. I so enjoy your podcasts. Have a great week.
Happy happy birthday Leanne.🎉 Another great episode.Your FO's are beautiful. Your Love Note song was a bonus! My first Ankers tee rode up a bit as well so I added a few short rows in my 2nd one. I too tie a little loop in the back of my sweaters with contrasting color.
happy 50th, I think these are the amazing years, with lots ahead to look forward to. Thank you for another great podcast full of inspiration and sight seeing too! If you ever come to Prince George BC, you will enjoy it, it's a lovely place to live and yes Top Drawer is our LYS, a great yarn shop!
Love your Ankers shirt! It’s on my to do list. Looking forward to summer break…school out here this week on May 26. Knitting up some Christmas socks here in May right.ha Have a great week!
Live your podcasts and your videos of where you are visiting. Love your attitude to your knitting and life. Especially loved your saying the rest of your life is the best if your life! I honestly felt in the best place turning 50. Much better than 40 haha. Thanks for a relaxing and entertaining episode.
In regards to marking the back of a garment from the front; someone in a podcast places a small bow (I believe using a ribbon rather than yarn). Love your pod casts and your shared travels. 🥰 Lori from Grand Rapids, Michigan
Thanks for another great podcast Leanne, I really enjoy every one! Your love note is beautiful, especially the colours, I think I have made 4 love notes, it really is a fabulous pattern. Your ankers tee is also great, I think I have knit 2, I’m curious where you purchased the Sandnes Garn Line? I do not know of any local shops in Calgary or surrounding areas? I also wonder how to mark the back, I usually just let a little end hang loose. I loved the history of Winnipeg and appreciate the research you do at every stop. I am relieved for you and pilots they were able to get a favourable contract. Looking forward to the next podcast.
Thank you, Susan! Yes, I am so relieved that the pilots and the company were able to find common ground! I spent enough time on layoff during Covid and did NOT want to be grounded again. I found the Line on Statement Junkie’s online shop!
Always great to see you Leanne, wherever you may be. Love the footage of the Peg and Wolsely yarn shop. Happy B.A.M month 🎈🎆 🧁, all the best to you. To mark the back of your sweater could be as easy as putting a little piece of yarn & tie a knot, or there are tags you can purchase that may say "Hand Made" or "Made with Love", I'm sure there are some really sweet ones to choose from etsy or possibly yarn shops carry them as well. Take care, happy travels. 🤗
Hi Leanne, I just purchased the Lilou hat pattern. Thank you for its gorgeous cute factor. Ive cast on the large size and Im knitting with Forest green, dark brown and off white in sticky Shetland yarns. Cant wait to see how our versions of the same hat look when finished. Safe travels 🛩
Congratulations on your special birthday. Your completed knits are lovely. The green in the Love Notes is a beautiful shade and really suits you. Winnipeg looks a great city. Happy flying. 🇬🇧
Hi Leanne lovely to see you again. As ever very inspirational and informative.A belated happy birthday 🎉.I love your comment the rest is the best about your future. What an amazing 🤩 thought .That is going to be my mantra I love it! Happy knitting 🧶💐
Hi Leanne! Just wanted to take a minute to thank you for such a lovely, thoughtful podcast! I always enjoy seeing what you’re working on and hearing about your adventures. Just curious, since you’ve travelled so extensively around the country, do you have an absolute favourite place that you’ve been to or would love to live? Thanks!
Thank you so very much for that kind message! I would say that my absolute favourite place to visit is Newfoundland I could definitely see myself living there. PEI is also stunning. I seems the East Coast has my heart
'Tis always lovely to see your latest, you enabler you! Had to order from Ancient Arts and add a couple o'patterns to my endless queue. Thanks for sharing -- and showing more of Winnipeg.
Thanks for sharing with us Leanne! Welcome to the 50s (I am only 1 year ahead). As you are so giving, I hope the universe pays that back and you have a wonderful year. Safe travels as well.
Hi, thanks for sharing your words, work and photography with us, enjoying it lots. They are lovely. In regards to colour work, I know some ladies that knit their colour work inside out. Their work looks amazing and tension is to die for. It is my next ‘technique’ to try out and though perhaps it would be of interest to you in your work in the rest of your best knitting life. Regards from Sweden
Oh yes! The same lady who did the tutorial on LBJ also has a video on knitting inside out colourwork! I love Knitting there’s always something new to learn!!!
I always enjoy your videos. Is there a passenger train that spans Canada and or the US? I also thought the mushrooms are cute but I also need a good gusset. I also bought one of those rings and it didn’t fit and just didn’t work on my middle finger. I saw another version from an American designer that I’d like to try but it was handcrafted and pricey. Glad you had a wonderful BAM celebration.
Aw thank you so much Elise! Canada certainly does have a passenger train: www.viarail.ca The establishment of the cities and history of Canada (some of it not very pleasant) has grown around the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway. I’ve never done it but what a beautiful way it would be to see the country. Canada is so huuuuuuuge.
I've seen recently where knitters have sewn a small button on the back of the collar to know which is front and which is back. Happy Belated Birthday Leanne, hopefully you were able to spend your birthday doing things that make your heart sing. Your fingerless glove is very pretty, why not make the second and give it as a gift.
Great knits! I tried to knit, but just can't get wrap my head around it. But still enjoy your channel still. I was born and raised in Wpg until 16yrs old. Its definitely Winterpeg for a reason lol.
Happy belated birthday 🎉Leanne. Love your love notes beautiful combination of yarns. I have the Petite knits on my list too, love all your knits on every podcasts and I usually add them to my lists! The travel all around your area is great to watch as I have never been to Canada....such a beautiful country. Shame about not meeting up with Selma and the girls but it will keep till another time I’m sure. See you next time ❤
Really love your hairstyle and am inspired to get bangs finally after years of just having the same length due to cutting my own hair at home. You make me less scared to turn fifty, by the way, i'm sure it takes a lot of hard work/discipline. I'm mostly scared of the menopause, things being out of my control eeks. anyway, congratulations on the winners. ps love those mitts they would be perfect for mushroom hunting.
Thank you so much for your message Ophelia! When do you turn 50? So far I am really enjoying it. I mean I know it’s only been 13 days but 😂 we’ll see how it goes. It’s funny I actually tried to grow my bangs out last year but it just didn’t suit me. My gay bestie was willing to tell me that it didn’t look good and I should bring my fringe back.. so I did! Good luck with your hair transformation. Sometimes we need to refresh.
hello LeAnne. thank you for your beautiful podcast.seeing so many familiar sights from childhood is a real treat. You asked if there was some place we would like you to visit..... how does Whitehorse sound? Love that place. Calgary is the best and I have been a Flames fanatic for too many years to count. Thank you
Thank you Katherine! Really glad I was able to get out and about in Winnipeg.. and to answer your question: Whitehorse is a DEFINITE YES. I will be there in the fall!!
The leftover yarn from your Love Note would make a lovely hat and mitten set. I agree, mitts are way better with a gusset. I turned 60 on May 11 and keep wondering how the heck that even happened! It’s hard for me to believe.
Happy belated Birthday. Love your love note sweater! I put a few threads of sewing thread in contrasting colour on the back inside neck for that very reason, front from back.
Check out the silicon finger tips that are used for hot gluing with crafts to slide on your finger before putting the yarn ring. You should use your remaining Ito yarn for the lace gloves! Happy Birthday!
Another great video! I turned 50 in February and like you have been doing little celebrations and gifts towards myself and to others. I usually tie a bow of string at the hem to mark the back of the sweater. Safe travels
Marking back of sweater...when I am weaving in and trimming ends, I take a short piece of scrap and do a half-hitch through the center of the neck seam. This felts into a soft tuft as I wear it but it is never scratchy like a label. Love the pictures of the places in Canada. My traveling days are over so this is the only way I get to sightsee. Loved what I did get to see of Canada when I was there.
OMG Leanne the mushroom mitts are so so good! I can't wait to see your Lilou hat as well :) and of course the colors of the Rauma are stunning! I can't wait to see what you make with those :)
Belated happy birthday. I purchased one of those knitting rings, and found the same thing happening, so I crocheted some fingering weight yarn around it. It fits so well now
I sometimes sew a little cloth woven label that says "this is the back" and it is by Labels by Kylie and The Machine. Other times I either use fine yarn or thick thread in a contrasting colour and mark an X on inside of neck band.
Hi Stew, I just want to tell you how much I appreciate your first people introductions on your podcast, it is very informative, respectful and I thank you for that! Take care,Melissa.
Thank you Melissa! We have such a long way to go with reconciliation, but this is a small act on my part and it is meant to be in high respect :)

I so related to your reply to Leann.
I felt exactly the same way when I turned 50, and I also just hit 70.
Life is good, take care.

beautiful black top you are wearing :))
Thank you Adele it’s a very wearable top! 🖤
Good for them, going on strike! 💪🏼🌷 Oh thank you 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ i will look up this kal!
Your Love Note is absolutely Stunning 💚 Lovely footage of Winnipeg ❤️
That acorn needle gauge is cute, and of course the tea and yarn coordinate! I enjoy Bengal Spice as iced tea- a hint of sweetness without sugar. I love the blue/green lace weight with the dark green. I have a similar dark green color and have had a difficult time finding a pattern where the stitches show up, but unfortunately my climate is too warm to add mohair.

So sorry you misted Knit City MOntreal, I mist it too because COVID caught me. May be next year !
Love the color of your Love Note and the song along with it. 🤭🎵 Thanks for sharing the Winnipeg footage and facts. Thank you so much for the shoutout. I feel so honored! 💜🧶
I bought a Norwegian thimble also, and my finger is way to small for it! Let us know if you find a smaller version of the Norwegian thimble!
So excited this came up just now!!!!
Congrats to winners,,,

Thank you Elaine! 🤗💖

Thanks for highlighting The Peg.
Happy belated BAM. I celebrate ABC - anniversary, birthdays x3 and Christmas all within 2 weeks in December.
🎉ABC! I love this! Thanks for popping over after seeing Irina’s interview. She is a kindred spirit!
Lovely episode Leanne…. I was getting worried that you'd be late for your flight ✈️ 😂😂😂😂 sorry you missed your Montreal layover. Thank you Elaine! It was a rush, but I made it down to the lobby for check-in with time to spare!

You do that too! I mean, it’s in place already yes. 👍🏼 Ahh Winnipeg.. love/hate. Currently I do not ‘hate’ it. Thanks for your message 🌸
I’m Sally O’Mally and I’m 50! I like to kick, stretch and KICK! Molly Shannon, Saturday Night Live, Happy Birthday
Omg, yesss I LOVE that skit! 🤣
That is awesome! We are both BAM-ers!! Yay!!
Interesting...I too celebrate Birthday/Anniversary/Mothers Day...then there is Birthday(spouse)/FathersDay...and the beat goes on. When do I find time to knit. Easy. That's every day.
Another BAMer! Plus your husband’s around Father’s Day. Double celebrations 🎉 are fun. We need to spoil ourselves a little extra 😃
Happy Birthday!!! I’m about to enter my 40s, 😮, but I’ve adopted the “I don’t care about my age or even acknowledge it(beyond what I need to for health)” philosophy. 😂. I just keep doing my thing.
I like this philosophy a lot!!
Hi Sandra 👋🏼 I love that Saint Nick colourway! I’ve been looking at that for months. Kurt Russell is crush-worthy. I will check out Songbird Yarn!
Your videos bring me joy. Happy Birthday!❤🎂The celebration ends at midnight on the 31st. 😉
Your FOs turned out so beautiful. I need to check out that Summer Shirt. Your production time on it was amazing.
I've visited the 'Peg twice and it is a neat city. I remember traveling from the mall by public transit in June or July and it wasn't quite dark though it was heading to 11 pm - I was so confused by the time. lol
Thank you for showing off our Canadian cities to the world. As a fellow Canuck who lives in the U.S. it is a special treat for me. Most of the YT maker content that I see is from American cities and it's nice to see my country being featured. Through your recommendations I have found a few more Canadian YT makers.
Aww! This message brings me joy so we’re even! Thank you so much 😊
It sounds like BAM was great. Happy belated. 50 is a number and it’s a good one! Thank for your podcast. I love your Anka’s tee, it looks really good on you and your Love Note! Wow! So good! Thanks, Leanne! Friendly skies!
Thank you JillyBeanDean!
Thank you so much! And Happy 70th Barbara! I love this wisdom 🥰
Take care and have fun knitting and squishing that taffy wave shawl!! xoxoxo
Hii Jaylene! I guess that makes me your “older” sweat sister. Cannot put down my Taffy Waves… on the lace portion today!
Thank you Evelyn!
GM Leanne
You look so sweet in your Anker summer shirt .. just love it !!!
The love note looks amazing on you also wow
And 50 you do not look 50!!!!
Very youthful girl 😊
Have a great week ahead and enjoy what you love to do 😊💝🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thank you Debbie!! So kind!!
Happy birthday! I have fond memories of my 50th birthday and I know you will too. Your Love Note pullover is *gorgeous*!!!
Thank you Joanne! 🌸
Love Notes for the world!!! Wow very good self restraint during the event!!!
Thank you Esther! Loved reading this message about your family!
You're in Winnipeg! By coincidence, just this weekend, I reread Carol Shields' _Republic of Love_ set in Winnipeg. Her novel is how I first focused on Winnipeg! Thank you for another great episode!
I might have to read that book you’re the second person to mention it!!
You did better than me… I fell off the wagon leading up to my birthday (May) and haven’t really got back on the wagon 😂
Hi Leann,
So good to see you.
Winnipeg was a true delight, and I’m so glad I got there on a day when it wasn’t scorching!
I think I’m going to queue all her patterns!!! 🩵🩵🩵
I mean, we would have to stop and get fuel in LAX but it could be done !!!
Lots of love to you Marion! Happy Easter and many blessings.
Thank you Josee 🤗 I do hope you make it over to SK & MB!
Interesting! Someone also suggested a small bit of silicone… hmm 🤔 I like the wisdom of your MIL!
Thank you Gabi I’m so glad you’re here!! 🤗
🤗 🌸
So pleased you got to enjoy your birthday Leann...enjoy your 50s...I sm in my last year of 70s and enjoy every year. Thanks for taking us on your travels and love your new tops...they are on ny todo list. Take care and safe travels..greetings from South Africa. 🇿🇦
Thank you Ursula! I will heed that advice! Happy knitting to you in S. Africa!
Thank you Sharon! Happy Tolsta Tee Knitting! 🤗
Your Lovenote is stunning. You yourself are absolutely beautiful and make such lovely knits. Congrats on your 50th birthday.
Thank you so much Donna!!
Happy happy birthday Leanne.🎉
Another great episode.Your FO's are beautiful. Your Love Note song was a bonus! My first Ankers tee rode up a bit as well so I added a few short rows in my 2nd one. I too tie a little loop in the back of my sweaters with contrasting color.
Thank you Rita! I probably should’ve mentioned that many people wouldn’t even know the Love Boat theme song 😆
happy 50th, I think these are the amazing years, with lots ahead to look forward to. Thank you for another great podcast full of inspiration and sight seeing too! If you ever come to Prince George BC, you will enjoy it, it's a lovely place to live and yes Top Drawer is our LYS, a great yarn shop!
Thank you Elaine! So far I am loving my 50s… only been 11 days, but hey!
Love your Ankers shirt! It’s on my to do list. Looking forward to summer break…school out here this week on May 26. Knitting up some Christmas socks here in May right.ha Have a great week!
Christmas socks and May…sounds good to me! It took everything I had not to pick up the Christmas Colourways of that sock yarn by Dye for Ewe!
Happy Birthday 🎉 Happy Anniversary 🍾🥂 Your Love Note looks stunning on you 😍
Thank you so much💗!
Live your podcasts and your videos of where you are visiting. Love your attitude to your knitting and life. Especially loved your saying the rest of your life is the best if your life! I honestly felt in the best place turning 50. Much better than 40 haha. Thanks for a relaxing and entertaining episode.
Thank you so much for this encouraging comment.. love your Username!
In regards to marking the back of a garment from the front; someone in a podcast places a small bow (I believe using a ribbon rather than yarn). Love your pod casts and your shared travels. 🥰 Lori from Grand Rapids, Michigan
Thank you Lori!! 🤗
Thanks Sue!!
That’s awesome! We will be Lilou twins!
Congratulations on your special birthday. Your completed knits are lovely. The green in the Love Notes is a beautiful shade and really suits you. Winnipeg looks a great city. Happy flying. 🇬🇧
Thank you Elaine and I’m so glad you’re here!
Hi Leanne lovely to see you again. As ever very inspirational and informative.A belated happy birthday 🎉.I love your comment the rest is the best about your future. What an amazing 🤩 thought .That is going to be my mantra I love it! Happy knitting 🧶💐
Thank you so much Elaine!!
That Ranunculus is ridiculously amazing on you. What about a few contrasting duplicate stitches in the back collar. You made Winnipeg look wonderful
Thank you my friend 🥰 !!
'Tis always lovely to see your latest, you enabler you! Had to order from Ancient Arts and add a couple o'patterns to my endless queue. Thanks for sharing -- and showing more of Winnipeg.
I’m such an enabler.. can’t help it! 😂
Thanks for sharing with us Leanne! Welcome to the 50s (I am only 1 year ahead). As you are so giving, I hope the universe pays that back and you have a wonderful year. Safe travels as well.
Thank you Jessica ❤️ The 50 Club is alright so far!
Thank you Wanda! Two wonderful ideas 💡
You could do Mushroom Socks, they could be super awesome. Happy 50th Birthday!
Love that idea 🍄!! Thank you.
Great knits! I tried to knit, but just can't get wrap my head around it. But still enjoy your channel still. I was born and raised in Wpg until 16yrs old. Its definitely Winterpeg for a reason lol.
Aw wow thank you so much! What a wonderful compliment, the fact that you don’t knit and still watch my Channel!
See you next time ❤
Thank you, Dawn! And thank you so much for being here 🤗
Really love your hairstyle and am inspired to get bangs finally after years of just having the same length due to cutting my own hair at home.
Wow! I’m so excited! I just sent an email. Thank you! I am loving your Love Note sweater. I’m adding it to the list of things to make!
Congratulations I will email you back and get the items shipped off to you! 🎁 Thank you so much for being here. I’m really happy for you!
hello LeAnne. thank you for your beautiful podcast.seeing so many familiar sights from childhood is a real treat.
Thank you for sharing your adventures, so enjoyable. Glad you had a nice BAM! Blessings to you friends.
Thank you Michele 😁 🌸
I have been waiting for Winnipeg! I am from the Peg, can't wait to watch it tonight!
The leftover yarn from your Love Note would make a lovely hat and mitten set. I agree, mitts are way better with a gusset. I turned 60 on May 11 and keep wondering how the heck that even happened! It’s hard for me to believe.
Happy 60th! Yeahhh I have a feeling I’ll be saying that when I blink and turn 60!!
Happy belated Birthday. Love your love note sweater! I put a few threads of sewing thread in contrasting colour on the back inside neck for that very reason, front from back.
Thank you Sue! 🤗
I flew WestJet Kelowna/Calgary a couple times the last week and was hoping I’d see you, but no such luck this time. 😢
Maybe we’ll bump into one another one day!
Moonrise Kingdom is one of my faves! Enjoyed your podcast as always, and welcome to the 50s - they're great 😃
Isn’t it the sweetest movie!? And thank you I’m happy to be in the 50 Club 🎉
Happy 50 anniversary. ❤It's all the time a pleasure to listen you.
From Cochrane Alberta
Thank you France! 🤗
Congratulations on 10k Stewy! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
🎉 Thank you Kaci!! I’m so blown away by this.💥
Check out the silicon finger tips that are used for hot gluing with crafts to slide on your finger before putting the yarn ring. You should use your remaining Ito yarn for the lace gloves! Happy Birthday!
Ohh two GREAT ideas here thank you Cecile.
Another great video! I turned 50 in February and like you have been doing little celebrations and gifts towards myself and to others. I usually tie a bow of string at the hem to mark the back of the sweater. Safe travels
Well, I am glad to be here in this 50 club I honestly feel like EVERY day is a day for celebrating in little ways!
I purchased faux leather tags from Grocery Girls...they have good sayings
I love a good tag!
Your actions are so thoughtful and meaningful. Thanks for showing support to human rights on your videos. ❤
🥰 Thanks Janet 🤗
Marking back of sweater...when I am weaving in and trimming ends, I take a short piece of scrap and do a half-hitch through the center of the neck seam. This felts into a soft tuft as I wear it but it is never scratchy like a label. Love the pictures of the places in Canada. My traveling days are over so this is the only way I get to sightsee. Loved what I did get to see of Canada when I was there.
Thank you Bonnie! And I’m so glad you can travel with me here 🤗
OMG Leanne the mushroom mitts are so so good! I can't wait to see your Lilou hat as well :) and of course the colors of the Rauma are stunning! I can't wait to see what you make with those :)
Thank you Megha!! I’m swooning over your Shifting Sands Pullover… I’ve never tried Rowan’s Softyak DK but I am imagining how dreamy it is ❤️
Belated happy birthday. I purchased one of those knitting rings, and found the same thing happening, so I crocheted some fingering weight yarn around it. It fits so well now
This is genius!
Thanks so so much for speaking about the Rainbow KAL !!! big hug!
I’m happy to promote and participate!
Wish I'd know of Woolsey Wools when I was in Winnipeg a few years ago.
To mark the back of most top down jumpers I just don't weave in the end of my cast on tail. If I'm feeling fancy maybe I tie it in a little bow!
Highly practical and efficient! Great tip Jess 🌸
HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I actually have knit a donkey lol.
Maybe we should do a DonkeyKal! Want to knit another one? 🫏!!
I sometimes sew a little cloth woven label that says "this is the back" and it is by Labels by Kylie and The Machine. Other times I either use fine yarn or thick thread in a contrasting colour and mark an X on inside of neck band.
Oh thank you I’ll check that out!!
I love all the squishy things ❤. But that card got my heart. My border collie Millie crossed the rainbow bridge a short month ago.
Aww big hugs Becky! I sure know how heartbreaking it is for us to say goodbye to our dogs/fur family 💔
That card is so precious.
Thank you for sharing, it sounds like lovely birthday celebrations
Thank you Noreen! It was a good BAM 💥
You just made my day with the love note tune! Haha 😂😂 gorgeous color choice
That song might stay in your head all day! Sorry about that
I tie a bow with a piece of yarn in the back of a lot of my sweaters
You made my long weekend !! As always I enjoy your videos , please keep them coming
Thank you Kim! This message made my long weekend 🌞
