Yes please drop a production timeline video ! As a self taught designer and owner of a brand for the past few years this has been one of the biggest challenges
Hi Zoe. Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful and you are awesome. I find really helpful “Watch me design” series and videos with CAD. Could you please make a video about how to know how fabrics hang, where are darts and seams when you are designing and creating sketches? How do you know where to put darts without draping? How do you know how the fabrics behave without draping? How do you make flats with these details without draping? Do you have to drape before making flats? Thank you. Can you do a video about flats again? Do designers use templates for flats or do they make them from scratch Thank you so much. I think that this would be useful for many people. I can’t imagine than designers in fast fashion drape every time. How is different fast fashion and high-end in this? Do people in high-end drape more? Do designers use CAD all the time? Do they also sketch by hand? How different is portfolio for high street and high-end?
I'm here bright and early with an immediate LIKE 👍🏾😁 You are becoming my fairy fashion godmother because i was just studying Helmut Lang, found out he shifted the SS 98 show schedule and realized I'm still confused about the whole thing 😅. THANK YOU 🌹✨ Edit: Would love a production management video 👍🏾
you really open our eyes and ears that fashion is lot lot more than just designing clothes. i mean, the calendar itself took you like half an hour to explain. thank you sooo much for the knowledges. people should check out Zoe's video about career in fashion designer too. that one also mindblowing hahah. youre really good Zoe. srsly. thank you so so so much :)
Hi Zoe! I love your content! Have you considered diving into a video analysis exploring the distinctive "selling points" of various designers? Take Lilly Pulitzer, for instance - her widespread appeal often stems from her vibrant, eye-catching fabrics rather than intricate design techniques. Similarly, Emilio Pucci stands out due to his use of unique and bold materials. Now, don't get me wrong, both designers undoubtedly possess immense talent beyond their fabric choices. However, it's intriguing to explore how these distinctive elements become pivotal in shaping their brand identities. While acknowledging that design encompasses various aspects, I can't help but wonder about the significance of these seemingly simple choices in defining a designer's success. What are your thoughts on this aspect of the design process? Looking forward to your insights
awesome video helpful. would love more on alternate production styles and different options to release my designs that make sense. like you said a dress a week. something for smaller brands if i want to do more frequent small runs
Hi Zoe! I love your videos, I’ve been a subscriber for many years now! Thank you for this calendar, it’s very helpful. Could you make a video for about pop-up shops for dtc brands, and how to go about finding/applying to be apart of them? Im finding it very difficult to find a directory or any source for pop-up shops for mid price, contemporary brands. If you have a video like this, that I’d missed, could you drop the link? Thank you and looking forward to seeing more of your content.
There's no directory. Pop-ups are essentially collabs between someone who runs a brick and mortar space (stores, bars, leasing offices, etc) and the brand. You have to approach them with a cool event idea.
This is really a lot. For me I would insert any Ramadan or Eid collection in the timeline too for Muslim demographics. I can't imagine how to manage it because it might overlap with the fall or spring seasons, since it's a lunar calendar (Hijri Calendar). So the calendar's cycle needs to be updated every few years. And the intervals between seasons get even shorter.
I only mention Europe and China in that entire offices and factories across the countries close down for those months. Is that true for Ramadan or Eid? If so, which countries? I'll add it to my notes!
@@zoehongteaches I would assume they close up maximum for a week for each Holiday. End of Ramdan- Eid Al Fiter, and Eid Al Adha. Lots of countries but I think the major industries l could think of are Indonesia, UAE (Dubai), Turkey, Morocco and Pakistan. I can't give you a fixated date but you can check Hijri to the Gregorian calendar converter to see each year's holiday calendar. Where I live I see for this year the shops are releasing a winter collection then Ramadan mini collection, then another for Eid, afterwards we'll get into Summer collections, and so on back to back.
Wasn't there a period about 10 years ago that some design houses experimented with ready to buy shows. Meaning the lines were ready for the stores the next day. I seem to remember Burberry and some other houses doing doing it. Did it flop?
Yes, there were some efforts but they didn't really work out. Which is probably why you're asking about it. If it worked, it would be the new norm. People are always trying to figure out a new way to sell, a new way to appease customers. We might see people try again.
Would it be possible for you go to one of the Magic or couterie shows, then review it, in only the wonderful way that you could. We always see the main shows represented in movies and media, but never the other shows.
Every time I hear your “Hey hey party people” it makes me so happy 😊 I am so happy you are back with us on UA-cam again! ❤
Thank you!!

I don't live anywhere near Vegas or NYC so it would have to be a moment when the stars aligned for budget and time.
Hi,Zoe
Random question😅 how can I get into eveningwear and bridal wear field??
Start designing eveningwear or bridal. It's no different than any other category.
How many samples do you recommend a collection has?
Start small. 5 sweaters. or 3 dresses. OR not and. 2 pairs of amazing pants. OR not and.
what are couture shows? like what does 'couture' mean? i tried to find it online but i still don't understand it
Go look for my video "What is Haute Couture"
@@zoehongteaches thank u so much ❤️
And when did you realise you could read our minds???
