- After playing Billie Bust Up you guys keep telling me to play the game A Hat in Time and i got to say its really cool!

A few tips/things you should know!
1.if you jump while sprinting you will do a sprint jump however when doing a sprint jump you cannot double jump
2. Hat kid is the main protagonists name and she needs the time pieces as fuel to get back home
3. bosses glow blue when you can hit them
4. you should explore the map more often as you can find more yarn, collectibles, and more
5. the homing dive can be performed on any enemy

WITHOUT ANY SPOILERS, I'm gonna answer all your questions that you haven't figured out yet in the video.
•00:54 Yes, it's advertised as a "cute-as-heck" 3D platformer collect-a-thon in similar vein to many classics, notably the main 3D Super Mario games.
•03:20 The game is not that long. Average run time focusing on just beating the game takes about 10 hours, and probably get 20 hours on it to 100% completion.
but please, take your time on it, we're all enjoying you actually giving this game a chance.
•5:55 and 10:40 Nyakuza Metro is the title of Chapter 7. Don't worry though, you can't access it until you get enough Time Pieces. The title is a fun play on words. you'll understand it once you reach it ;)
•8:27 The game stays relatively easy, slowly ramping up the difficulty throughout the game, but the real challenge comes post game with the DLCs and the "Death Wishes"
•12:10 Yes, new hats = new abilities to access different stuff. your assumption was correct. Mr. Ultimate Intuition.
•13:11 Probably the only reason to revisit completed Acts are for missed collectibles and Time Rift levels.
•15:39 The game would not let you progress. Goofy Mafia will be unbothered by you until you get covered in mud.
•15:57 This Chapter is probably going to be your most favorite. Its the spoooky chapter that includes the Snatcher, the character you saw in Barnaby's Mansion.
•17:47 The time pieces are the fuel source to her spaceship, she can't get back home without them. It was shown in the beginning 01:57 XD
•20:31 Funny you mention that, this is the first level that you started missing collectibles and would probably want to go back to get them eventually.
I think that was all of your questions. In terms of things you should know,
•I'd recommend not using any mods on any level that you have not completed yet. it takes away from the experience.
•The cost of making hats get exponentially higher for each hat that you can unlock. So, collect as much yarn as you can. You'll be able to spot them from far away, they'll have a rainbow halo of light surrounding them.
•Don't get too hung up on places or areas that you notice are inaccessible to you right away. Very much like the Zelda games, you'll need specific hats and/or badges to progress and unlock new areas. So again, collect as much yarn as you can.
•And although your character has no official name, Mustache Girl calls you "Hat Kid" during the Mafia Boss fight 23:34 and the fandom stuck with that name for her ever since.
And finally, going back to your question on 3:20 without spoiling, here's how the game is structured.
There's 7 Chapters (aka areas) including the DLCs.
You access each Chapter through the Hub, your Spaceship.
To unlock them, you must collect the amount of "Time Pieces" that each door requires, a la Mario 64.
Time Pieces are collected at the end of each Act (aka levels.)
Chapters 1-3 have about 6-7 Acts, Chapter 4 is "free roam" with 5 time pieces, and Chapter 5 wraps up the base game with 1 Act.
The DLC starts Chapter 6 with 3 Acts and Chapter 7 is another "free roam" with 10 time pieces.
On top of that, you have 2-3 Time Rift Levels per chapter (which are comparable to Mario Sunshine's Secret Levels.)
And on top of that, reserved for post-post-game, there's the "Death Wish" levels, where the real challenge starts.
(Again, these are not spoilers. This is just information to help you gauge how this game is structured.)

I recently finished A Hat In Time too and I gotta say, what a fenomenal game, you'll love the characters, they are all so funny and have such distinct personalities!
I didn't know Mustache girl gave you the yarn for the sprint hat if you don't collect it yourself. Since I did, I never saw this part of the "plan". And the line "I guess being creative isn't free, huh ?" that I've never seen before either is really funny.
It's like the creators are speaking through this line, because if you want to bring your dream creations to life, you need money, lots of money, and I feel like this is the creators complaining about that.
First he busted it up in Billie and now he's gonna do the same with A Hat in Time! (Love to see this turn into a new series love this game and the DLC!)

You need to play the whole game. It's so fun and definitely one of the best 3d platformers in my opinion. Also, about the DLC, it adds 2 extra worlds: Seal the deal and nyakuza metro, each with their own levels. It blends in with the story, optional stuff to do, so don't worry. They unlock after a certain amount of time pieces collected. Do it either before or after the end game. Plus, you unlock other stuff like the death wish mode and more.

Every area rewards exploration, theres tons of collectibles hidden away and theres little secrets and puzzles all around each area, so explore if you get the opportunity
Ah, memories of how my laptop cannot play this game at most capacity or full screen without full lag, so my friend was making fun of me for surviving lag stubbornly for two years until "suddenly it was so much smoother" after a graphics change

And Nyazuka Metro is the DLC but it's a level you can open up like most everything else, don't worry about it since most everything can be played in what order you want so you can play it later if ya want

I'm sure so many people already pointed this out, but there's a pretty fun tech thing you can do with dives. After you land and press the jump button, you know how you do a little flip? well if you time it right and press the button as you land, you get a small speed boost. It's pretty fun to do.
So just dive, then press jump as you're about to land on ground for small speed boost (I think it's the jump button. I don't have the game installed atm lol)

Don't worry, you're not playing the Nyakuza Metro DLC! As with the other chapters, its only unlockable with a specific number of Time Pieces (The hourglasses)
And Fun Fact: "Nyakuza" is a play on the word Yakuza (Nya + Yakuza), since the DLC has a big focus on cats!
fun fact! if you play on pc and you have the Nyakuza Metro DLC you can play on party mode(which is just online multi-player) with the max players being 50 (I think)
also the nyakuza metro is a DLC but it's just an additional chapter.

Bro I have been asking for you to play this game forever, I just picked this game up again for like the 4th time and it somehow still surprises me how fun it is.
This is one of my favorite games glad you are playing it. It’s funny has 2 dlcs so it takes you a while to get bored, I still find myself coming back to it playing through the bosses staring at skeletons in her closet , brings back memories, hope you keep playing this to the end!! (Word of advice get the no bonk badge it’s actually super useful so don’t forget to talk to the badge seller every once in a while)

"Nyakuza Metro" is the name of the second DLC, Its just letting you know thats the version you're playing. No worries you're playing it right! The worlds are non-linear anyway, so even if you find the DLC levels it won't mess up the story.
I never got a chance to play this game myself. I heard about it and saw so many of my friends playing it on Steam over the years. It's just one of those games that slipped through the cracks for me, and I'd LOVE to see you play a full playthrough of this!

I've 100% completed this game twice, and I can say that the game overall isn't too difficult if you've played other 3D platformers, but a certain part of the Seal the Deal DLC ramps things up significantly
And yes, Nyakuza Metro is the dlc, but its a separate part of the game you'll get to later
The first DLC you should play is Seal The Deal. It adds Death Wish (more info for that once you get to World 3) and Seals. The Seals are the most important thing trust me.

This game is designed after mario sunshine, thats where it's similaritys come from.

The reason it says Nyakuza Metro on the loading screen is because you have the Nyakuza Metro DLC
All of the DLC are active at all times if you have them but you need to reach a certain point in the game to actually play them
So don’t worry you art playing the main game

Genuinely this is one of my favorite games of all time. It only says Nyakuza Metro because that's the most recent DLC, and it shows the most recent DLC you have downloaded! Also, seeing you hover over each Act and not read it's little description and tidbits is kind of painful (it even gives little hints and jokes!)
Also, the Timepieces are used for Hat Kid's spaceship's fuel to get home. Never knew about the Mafia telling you about Mu running into the kitchen before, though! Guess I just never sat down in front of him or something? lol (Learning new things about this game is always fun!)

My tip is that you should do the time rifts at the end of each chapter or after beating the normal game. Also make sure you do the level in the attic after completing the first 4 chapters

Nyakuza Metro is the name of the second dlc.It'll be there in the loading screen but it takes time to actually unlock the the Nyakuza Metro levels
the nyakuza metro part of the logo is to signify what version of the game you're playing , it doesn't effect the main game however and instead adds to it . really great to see someone play the game blind in 2023
