      I use an Apple Cinema Display 30” from 2004 and it’s absolutely stunning as well, design-wise and display-wise. Still holds up wonderfully today at 2560x1600 resolution.
      Apple really needs to make consumer monitors again, doesn’t need to be fancy but with their beautiful design I and many others would definitely buy.
      (best part is, I got it for $275. I work at my university’s bookstore in Apple sales and repair and found it while digging though old stock and my boss and I agreed on a price 😌 I felt $275 was great considering it was new old stock complete with box [though the box was slightly damaged after 15 years in storage])

    Hey there Felecia. Thanks for making this video.
    I loved your approach to this video. You didn't bore us with data. Instead, you focused on the practicality of the display.

    After months of researching, I got the Pro Display XDR, with the stand, for my HDR video hobby. It is absolutely worth every penny. I do fine art reproduction at work, so color accuracy is extremely important to me, but this Pro Display XDR blows away any monitors I’ve used at work.
    It may be wildly extravagant for a hobbyist, but if you appreciate a good high-resolution, 10-bit, wide gamut, high brightness display, I haven’t seen anything to compare it to. I’m extremely happy I got it!

    • @ilyamiskov
      @ilyamiskov 3 роки тому +1

      @@_felicia It is mostly fine throughout the video. I noticed at around 0:30 music hit a bit too loud. I’d personally make the music quieter overall by about 5-15% depending on how you prefer it. As much as I like great background music in videos, it’s meant for background, and I do like to see a speaker’s voice be more prominent. But then again, that’s just my feedback and it’s up to you as to what to do with it. Great video nonetheless! 👍🏻
      Also if that helps, I was watching the video on an iPhone 12 using it’s built in speakers (I am in the majority of the statistics haha)

    • @_felicia
      @_felicia  3 роки тому

      Ohh okay, got it. Yeah, I usually lower it 15 - 20% too, to make sure it's not too loud. But I edited this video while watching TV and I think the TV was too loud soo I turned the volume up on it and then I forgot to go back and make sure the audio levels were normal. 😅 Note to self, no more editing while watching TV lol. But thank you for letting me know, otherwise I wouldn't have known! :)

    You are absolutely correct. You say we can't justify the price but for digital artists, designers, and photographers it's most definitely underpriced. Especially when you're considering other monitors w/ the same specs maybe a hairline better but they're going for $10k upwards $20k. Yeah you definitely don't need it if you're using it to browse the internet. It would be like buying a $5000 pc only to play chess. Sure you can do it but it's not worth it doing what you're doing.

    • @_felicia
      @_felicia  3 роки тому +3

      Exactly! So many people compare it to regular monitors, in which case it would be crazy expensive. But if you’re a creative professional you’re comparing it to Reference Monitors, in which case this display is a bargain and it’s beautifully designed.

      Hey. I'm using a 2016 Macbook Pro (15in) and there is no fan noise. I also have a new 13in M1 Macbook Pro for work and it also has no fan noise when connected.

    Absolutely worth it!
    I switched to a dual Pro Display XDR config from an Ultrawide and honestly there is no going back, the color accuracy is just amazing and the ppi is on another level.
    These will always be worth it IF you got the money to spend on it.
    Oh yeah, the stand is 1K but it's totally worth it!

    very nice video. Very aesthetic, very personal. Can a video be cozy? I guess it can. Most tech related videos are kinda cold, this one is warm and that's part of what I love about Apple, it's technology but everything they do make you feel good and your video definitely made me feel good. Nice job!

    yeah that display is fantastic. Have you tried a curved ultrawide? I know its completely apples and oranges type of conversation, but I am just wondering what your take is on the curved versus flat. Im more of a flat 34,. I wonder if Apple may consider making something curved in the future?

    • @_felicia
      @_felicia  3 роки тому +3

      So funnily enough, right before I purchased the Pro Display, I had a flat 28 in LG monitor and I replaced it with a Samsung Ultra-wide 34 in curved display. It looked really nice sitting on the desk but I noticed straight away that the fonts were blurry and the colors were more muted than my LG display. But the worst part was that within 15 minutes of using the display I had the most awful headache. My eye just didn't know where to land on the screen and it was just making me nauseated. I don't know if it's just my eyesight or what but I couldn't take it, I sent it back the next day. 🙃

    IMHO, I would argue it's possibly worth it when you make a living by spending your entire day in front of a display.
    As a developer I would like to be able to have sunlight into my living room and still been able to read text in darkmode, but with regular 300 to 400 nits monitors you can forget about it.
    If you make enough money to buy the good tools to do your job, I think you should invest on it.

    Well done vid on the XDR display!
    I was in the process of purchasing 2 Studio Displays from Apple and then decided to quickly research the XDR display. Google brought me here to the right spot!! 😎
    I'm wrestling with the cost of an XDR due to how Apple wants to charge you for this. Like come on, you're really charing for a stand! (I'll end up buying it anyway! 😭)

    • @_felicia
      @_felicia  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! Also, I'm going to be really honest with you. I just got the Studio Display for my desk upstairs, (and I'm working on a review video atm) BUT I would still choose the XDR all day every day. It's just in another league. If you can I would go to an Apple store and look at them side by side to see if it's worth it for you, or if you should just get two Studio Displays. The Studio Display is nice, don't get me wrong, but that XDR is just perfection.

    Meh ...i just use my XDR display to watch youtube videos and shop on amazon. Its fine, nothing special. The colors do seem a little pale compared to other displays like the Apple studio etc. Im thinking 2 XDRs would be more ideal since the 32" rectangular flat shape makes it not very ergonomic to do multiple tasks on it compared to a 34" curved for example.
