One thing to keep in mind, is that men who are very masculine and have low-normal T, without low T sympotoms, often simply have higher levels of androgen receptors. Meaning they make less because they need less. Also, time of day tested is a big deal. Levels can fluctuate wildy through the day. Now, it never hurts to get better sleep, or do basic lifestyle trouble shooting, but you man not actually need testosterone any higher.

that is NOT how the androgen receptors work (if anything science proves that the higher testosterone the MORE androgen receptors the body creates in order to use the excess testosterone (androgen receptors are being made all the time its not a permanent thing), and things like shbg binding it up also matters but thats more detailed). problem is most likley they trained the day before/alcohol and like you said had the test done late in the day or late compared to their sleeping patterns, even fasted and good breakfast matters for the production aswell as other factors alongside stress, cortisol, injuries, been sick or about to get sick etc.. /endocrinologist.

    • @CharlesDavisGameFilm
      @CharlesDavisGameFilm 5 місяців тому +13

Exactly what you said. If you have high receptors your T can be low but it’s fine. Did they test for free T? In either way, if you feel fine and you aren’t having any symptoms of low T then you’re probably fine and don’t need trt.

    • @AntisnakeYT

@@CharlesDavisGameFilm androgen receptors arent a permanent thing, your body makes them in order to use the free testosterone, low t means less androgen receptors. basic science.

I started TRT about 4 years ago because my T level was at 140ish. I was tired all the time, when I would workout, recovery took forever so I ended up mentally defeated and stopped working out, just overall felt terrible. Can definitely attest that if you need it, it is worth it for sure, just the restful sleep alone was huge for me, it really helped with the "dad naps" that I would find myself needing every day. Glad you got it tested, hope you find the answers you seek (feeling even better) and as always, stay buff!

@Greymatter-to3th I do an injection every week on my outer thigh. There is a spot on your outer thighs that you barely feel anything so it is a good spot. Another option if you have someone else, or are flexible is right at the top of one of your butt cheeks. If you go to a TRT clinic that performs the injections for you, this is typically where you will receive them.
If you don't like needles or the idea of injections, there is also a gel and I believe a patch but these have a lower efficacy to them. I have tried the gel before, wasn't a huge fan. Also if you don't wash properly after you can get some of that testosterone on to other people you might touch like if you are picking up your kids or something.
Hope that helps, if you have any other questions feel free to let me know, have been on them for roughly 3 years now.

    • @Dancarnate

@Greymatter-to3th The Low T centers are usually about $130-$150 a month (around here Central TX) without insurance. With insurance I pay roughly $40 a month going through the pharmacy. I hit 40 myself back in October so I feel ya. My weight really ballooned as my stress rose and my T dropped. I highly recommend getting it at least checked, it is worth it to know, then of course you can look at all of your options after that. Best of luck to you!

@Greymatter-to3th injection normally but in my case my doctor put me on Clomid for a couple reasons:
1.) My pituitary gland (I think LH levels low) wasn't sending signals to my nuts to produce test
2.) I still wanted to have children.
My test levels went from the high 200s to high 800s but also get your estrogen levels checked. I didn't know but mine were twice the normal amount for a male. I also went through my eurologist for this because most "normal" practice doctors (not sure the proper name of their profession) would always scoff at me thinking I had low test.

Heya, why not just drop the time if your workouts to 20 mins, and on your days off...jump onto the bike and go for a cycle???? I'm 43, have cut my workout time down to a mere 20 mins 4-5 days a week, jump on the bike 2-3 days for 30-40 mins....feel like a 20 year old again.
Low energy is a sign of doing too much, there's a great book by Debra green ..Endless Energy...good read if you get the time. As we get older we can't push the same volume or weight as we did in our 20/30's, enjoy the lifting no matter what weight it is. Other stresses in life may be attributing to draining you tho, take inventory of all stresses around you, and dial into yourself....do these stresses really bother me, or do I bother the stresses :)

I was diagnosed with low testosterone levels last year 2023. My numbers were in the 100s. I couldn't even get to 200 no matter what I did. I was going to the gym 3x a week and lifting as hard as I could. I used to be a competitive powerlifter in my 20s and 30s and I was lifting tons and tons of weights without any anabolic steroids. In 2023 I got to a point where I couldn't even bench press 225, squat 225, deadlift 225. I was tired everyday. I was sluggish at work. I couldn't have erections. I had brain fog. I was depressed. I was sleeping a lot. It was terrible. Now I've been on HRT/TRT for about 5 months. I feel much better. I am training and lifting harder at the gym. Work has improved and I am enjoying work. My relationships have improved. Life is just much better.

Same experience here. I'm 46 and tested around 320-340 a few years back. Introduced the following into my diet, and two years later tested around 570:
    - Smoothies 3 days a week containing: Cinnamon, heaping spoon of maca powder, unsweetened coconut, Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts, raisins.
    - Began taking these supplements daily: Pumpkin seed oil (1000mg), Vitamin D (5000 IU's), Pomegranate extract (250mg), Boron (3mg), Taurine (1000mg), Tribulus Terrestris (1500mg)
I also lift weights with high intensity 5 days a week, 45-90 mins per sesh, do Level-2 cardio 30 mins 2x week, and walk 10k steps per day. I already lifted and did some cardio prior to upping my testosterone naturally but felt I should include this just to be thorough. I'm living proof this can be done. Good luck, brother!

Im just a regular guy that works, thats a dad, thats a husband and that lifts just because I have always had a genuine love for it. Never done steroids or any of that Jazz. 1 year ago I had my Testosterone checked and I was only at 202. My Dr prescribed me TRT and it has improved my life. I was the guy no one would expect to be low on Testosterone because I am big, strong, muscular and in a good mood 99% of the time. My sex life with my wife was amazing and I had NO issues with my "performance" in the bedroom. I was shocked to discover I was that Low on T. Now Im back in the 700-900 range and Im feeling even better than ever!. Everyone is different. As long as you are healthy, that is all that matters. I go to the gym a few times a week, eat well for the most part and get a good amount of sleep and my T is quite high for my age. Throughout my life, I never did anything unhealthy, never took T or Steroids or anything else. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs. When I was 49, my T was 1080 and at 51 my T was 890. Currently, I am 52, 155 lbs and 5.7. I have always been lean but within the last 5 years my waist has gone up to 30 inches and my chest/back was 40 inches and now is 37 inches. My muscle and strength are not the same but I am still lean overall for my age.

nobody is really truly healthy. We haven't been eating a species appropriate diet for nearly 12,000 years ever since the advent of agriculture. We should be 6 inches taller than we are now on average with 20% larger brains, have more development in our jaws, stronger bones, etc.
I would encourage people to read George J. Armelagos "Paleopathology at the Origins of Agriculture" as well as Pottenger's Cats study.
We're so far away from optimal health as a species it's crazy.

Hudson I would highly recommend a recheck but having it within 3 hours of waking. Men go through almost sort of a “period” daily where they peak testosterone early in the morning and as they go through the day it decreases. This is why they prefer them as early as possible. One thing to note about the range you were given, that is going to be dependent on the lab that is actually doing the test. I've been getting mine measured every year for about a decade now. With the exception of the 2023 one, they were all done by the Mayo Clinic's lab which uses/used a 250-950ng/dL range. Last year's was done by CB - Labcorp Dublin in Dublin, OH. They use a 264-916ng/dL scale. My very first test had me well outside the normal range on the low side. Your average 85yo man had a higher level than mine came in at. I did the injections, administered by my PCP, which got me to just inside the normal range at 303. Last measurement was 927. The interesting thing was three years ago, it was 860ng/dL and two years ago it actually dropped to 697ng/dL. That timeline between those two tests matched when I cycled off a supplement and cycled back onto it between the 697 and 926 tests.

1.) The reason Hudson's level was only 328 is (almost guaranteed) because he fasted for a longer period of time and the test was done later in the day. Repeat the test under the same time and conditions as Brandon and I'd be very surprised if Hudson's level wasn't right around 700
2.) Polygraph tests (lie detector tests) have been used for decades but are ultimately a pseudoscience. They have no scientific backing whatsoever. One person can lie through their teeth and pass just fine while another could tell the truth and fail the test. Polygraphs do not give consistent answers. They're only still in use because a majority of people don't know that they're a bunk pseudoscience.

In that time, my T levels dropped to 176 where I experienced a lot of side effects associated with low. T. Never had to resort to hormone therapy. Sleep, basic nutrition, and consistent/frequent exercise did the trick to raise it by about 150 points. You’ll probably do better, seeing as my issue was caused by damage to the area and there’s only so much better it can get.

My personal TRT journey. I was 25 and was struggling to go to the gym and when I did I would feel like crap, could never recover. Gained weight and felt generally like trash. Got up to 260lbs, mostly fat. I got my testosterone levels checked I was at 210ng/dl, which was under the range. But, I was DETERMINED to get those numbers up naturally.
I did everything the pamphlet and videos said. Ate more red meat, ate more cruciferous vegetables, got on a strict sleep schedule, did moderate intensity cardio, lifted weights, did nightly stretching, took Creatine and others supplements, I was beyond obsessed. I already didn't drink, smoke, or do drugs. But overall I really took a hard right turn to a better version of myself. Dropped 10lbs even. I was super stoked.
I went back to get my levels checked 3 months later. My test came back EVEN LOWER at 177ng/dl. At that point, I knew something was up and I started TRT. No shame in this, it's just a weekly injection and an estrogen blocker to help keep myself in balance.
Best. Decision. I. Ever. Made. My life is 10,000% better. My sex life is better with my wife, my attitude towards life is better, I'm 40lbs lighter, stronger than I've ever been, minimum 3 days per week in the gym lifting high intensity, my business is better, my relationships with people are better.
Don't feel ashamed if you need to get your levels up, follow the advice of your doctor and do your research. I love the buff dudes, however these guys have been natural their whole life and generally speak against it like it's a bad thing or something that should be avoided. But, I was 25, now 32, and it just was what I had to do to get through life and be a better version of myself. I would say we have a low testosterone problem in this country, we are showing the lowest testosterone levels ever in my generation and younger.
Hope this inspires others to get themselves checked.

Lot of “experts” says you shouldn’t take any estrogen blocker , my doc said I don’t need either , I don’t seem to dial in and it’s been 4 years

Your both stupid, get some knowledge and experience. There are so many side effects for people that take steroids and the brothers don't exhibit any of them. These guys are simply the best in the fitness world show some respect.

As ever, great video. Love the honest, humble delivery. Yes, it would be lovely to be told you have a 1000 plus testosterone count, but I don't think you guys need to worry about the paperwork: you are, after all, the Buff Dudes.
I am a baby boomer, and have never worried about my testosterone levels. Of course, everyone tells you that it gets lower with age, and I won't argue with that. However, if you can still 'raise a shout', I'd say that's a pretty good indication that your testosterone levels are in the zone.

You guys are putting out some really good, relatable videos recently especially - thank you! I’m 5’9 at 185lb, been lifting for nearly 20 years fully natural - crazy to see what is possible if taking steroids, so the temptation is definitely there, especially for kids just starting out

For 20 years?! What are your 1 RPMs for the major lifts if you don't mind sharing? I'm basically the identical height and weight but only in at 7 years.

I didn't start TRT until I was 46 and it really did improve the regular stuff but the improvement to sleep quality really surprised me.
