Think of how many tv relationships are either deeply flawed without addressing it or only amount to “I really like this character because they’re the main character”.

Given that Nicole’s pregnancy happened before their wedding, as it turns out, Gumball was an illegitimate child, he was an accident. That’s messed up, not that that’s something to be considered as contemptible in general, it’s not admirable, but still.
Funny enough I think this maybe the first cartoon to acknowledge that you can have a kid before you get married. Now granted Gumball isn’t born til after Nicole and Richard get married but still I do respect that acknowledgement.
