Nice. It's a tribute to the victims of hurricane Katrina. This song is from their Minutes to Midnight album, the studio version hits deep.
Their masterpiece IMO
I mean i get that not everyone is going to like every aspect of the band (Mike Shinoda in this case lol), but the amount of work that dude has put into the band over two decades, and his importance to the band cannot be understated. There is a reason his band mates called him 'The Glue'. You might not like his singing/rapping, but Linkin Park is what it is, in no small way, because of him!
The Little Things Give You Away is one of their more underrated songs imo. It's so well crafted, starting out very simple, building up these gorgeous instrumentations, then elegantly blooming into this complex climax. It's a feast for the ears. I recommend giving it (maybe the album version) a listen off camera, just listen with your eyes closed, it's so beautiful. Thank you for reacting to this song ❤
It was a trip, a beautiful one
Linkin Park wrote this in the aftermath of the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. You can imagine the voices of the victims in the words, "don't want to reach for me do you, mean nothing to you. The little things give you away." and "All you've ever wanted, was someone to truly look up to you. And six feet underwater, I do." Who those voices are speaking about are the U.S. Government, particularly George W. Bush, and other state and local leaders, who completely dropped the ball with emergency response and led to New Orleans levees breaking and leaving 80% of the city underwater, causing over one thousand human deaths and more than $190 billion in damage. This song takes my breath away and starts with a very oceanic sound and ends with mythical sirens singing during a destructive tempest.
Chester's beautiful and heartbreaking voice is absolutely from another world. Also, Mike's insane artwork and huge impact is so incredible.. Love this song since my childhood ❤

They wrote the song about Hurricane Katrina dedicated to them and the tragedy and deaths that happened. They went there to help rebuild.
I assume your guys's vision of Linkin Park is just from the first 2 albums right?
Cause after they started moving away from nu metal their next like 3 albums were very experimental.
Especially a thousand suns, its the album that has aged the best from them

I think you should listen/watch the song My December live Projekt Revolution 2002. It doesn't sound like a Linkin Park song at all. It shows a softer side to Chester's voice. It is a bonus track from Hybrid Theory the album.
Brad (the lead guitarist) wears the headphones to help him stay focused not just during concerts but during their music videos as well. He has worn them since before Chester joined the band. He has different headphones made for each music video to go with that music video's theme.

I like this song a lot because the climactic end reminded me of Comforting Sounds by the Danish band Mew. Both songs just make me want to close my eyes and forget the world exists for a few minutes.
Chester Vocals are AMAZING he can sing smooth and be a Screaming Demon,,, Absolutely the best AND him and Mikey are the Best Duo. Both are very talented musicians tip:: the live version is way better than the CD version ❤️🖤❤️🖤❤️🖤
