Jimmy is a brave courageous man! To check into hell to stop this monster so he would stay in prison and never be able to kill any other young girls is very heroic!
This was one of the best crime shows I’ve seen. It was not what I was expecting. It was heartbreaking as disturbing, but also there was an inspiring character arch for Jimmy. It’s more meaningful knowing it was a real guy. He really had a wake-up call and was able to do good in spite of his past. The character of Gary was probably the Pat heartbreaking. They sure made him seem like a hell of a brother.
I just watched black bird then this video. Black bird is probably the best adaptation of true crime that I've ever seen. Bravo to the producers, writers and directors.
This series was amazing. The actors were phenomenal, especially Ray Liotta. My father had multiple strokes and watching Liotta was like reliving my dad's experience.
I don’t trust rotten tomatoes anymore, many things rated there goes up or lower, plus they’re bought by movie company which is a red flag of authentic scores. lol.
My biggest issue - in what was an absolute fantastic series - is that the writers introduced characters that needed to be introduced and we never got closure on them. They were just there and then gone. Specifically former mafia boss Vincent “The Chin" Gigante and the guard (Carter) who tried to extort Jimmy. They also rushed the ending. This needed to be a 8 pt. series instead of six or else trim some of the superfluous fat.
I actually think that is a good feature. Jimmy is disgraced with Gigante, which ends that tie abruptly and puts more pressure playing into the scene where Jimmy gets frustrated and lets his cover slip in front of Hall. The guard and Hall's therapist both play sketchy figures of high risks and more pressure that contributes to a sense of relief once Jimmy gets told they've finally got Hall due to him knowing a detail only the killer could know that's redacted in the files.
@@ScienceadobyDrEishal great point. I just wanted to see what happens to that guard and The others that beat him so bad. Were they reprimanded or fired or was anything at all done to them? Did that even happen or were they just using artistic license and embellishing the story? I’m not sure why they brought Vincent Gigante into the story if his character wasn’t going to be fleshed out more than it was. They didn’t have enough time to build his character and it came off like everyone was just supposed to know who he was. Just to have a John Gotti type presence in there with Jimmy signifying the danger. They couldn’t have done this with any character. It’s hard to pick apart such a good series though.
Yes, this is exactly how I felt. There were some loose ends or situations that didn't feel necessary without more closure. I absolutely loved the series, but would have liked a couple more episodes as well.
Im 4 years younger than Jessica. And lived not very far from where she was abducted. Grew up in that town. Although I never knew her. That incident messed me up. To think something like that could happen in my town. I couldn't stop crying.

He got a fake prescription bottle for one girl a med she had never taken! He was 200 miles away at the time this girl was taken ! He led police on so many crazy hunts that led nowhere
2022 is certainly the year of True Crime Dramas. I'll definitely be checking this one out, for both Taron Egerton and the late, great Ray Liotta in one of his last major screen roles.
A great show. Taron Egerton is really talented. Paul Walter Hauser is...chilling. His outing in Richard Jewell as well...but then other roles are just believably eccentric. This cat is unsettlingly talented.
@@dutchtulips I meant along the lines of who may have killed her/the circumstances of it, like was it a random wrong place wrong time sort of thing done by someone like Larry DeWayne or was it by someone she knew. There's something about serial killers and Indiana? I don't know what it is? Look up Charlie Brandt or Herb Baumeister. Who knows how many people they killed? Even Charles Manson spent a lot of time here
Looking at this TV show it's obvious that the police are terrible at their jobs. They turned a confessed killer loose several times, ignored eyewitnesses, & gave the killer the benefit of the doubt & called him harmless while knowing the vehicle was reported several times. Terrible. Horrible.
for some reason, black bird reminded me more of true detective season 1 than mindhunter. there were a lot of scenes that went from the past, future and then present.
What surprised me is he drew a clear map and markings of each dot, on the final episode you see him look outside the Aeroplane and you can see a similar outline of the landscape below, so surprised they never got an helicopter of a better view above, and police below being directed to particular spots.
I don't know American geography but I got the impression that map covers hundreds if not thousands of miles. Even if he remembered the exact location of those dots (extremely unlikely) it would still cover several square miles. Didn't the map cover multiple states? Some US states are big enough to fit in several European countries.
