Funny enough kakarot I'm actually rewatching Gundam x right now for the holidays and it's still good Ga-road is a way to pronounce it. But this vid came out at the perfect time as Gundam x is very underrated IMO.
One of my favorite facts about the Gundam X is that the beam saber-satellite cannon placement was a Sasaki Kojirou reference, with the saber being the katana and the cannon being the sheathe.

Yeah, it don't know what it is but for me it had a real nice atmosphere that really grabbed me compared to other Gundam series, even though it was one of the last I've watched. After War Gundam X’s colony drop operation was hilariously overkill-so many colonies got dropped at the same time that it’s hard to believe anything survived the war.

As expected from the Philippines. We really loved Gundam X back then when it aired on TV. Anyone got any links on the Tagalog dub? Can't seem to find it anywhere.
The tech used for how the GX receives power is actually real. Rectennas can convert microwaves into electrical power. Dunno how Garrod survives it, though. High powered microwaves has a lot of ionizing radiation. And his cockpit is right under the beam's receiver.
What baffles me even further is the general lack of a seatbelt seen (or not seen) throughout Gundam X. Garrod, Wits, Roybea, Jamill, even Enil El would pilot their mobile suits in plain clothes with no seatbelt in sight!
If I recall from the anime correctly, GX Unit 1 was actually still somewhat intact. And it that's the case, then only some of GX Unit 1's parts were used in the DX instead of completely recycling Unit 1, and the DX's frame was indeed entirely a new construct. Just based off the original design. If I recall while the DX fought the Frost Brothers, it showed it's superior physical strength by breaking bonds that used to hold the GX. I even used to have a 1/100 HG model of the G-Falcon Double X. I do see that Bandai released an MG version of the Double X, and I’m tempted to get it.
the old 90's HG 1/100 Gundam X kits are fun to play with despite their ancient model kit engineering especially when combining the G-Falcon with the three Gundams.
It's so fun to see a ton of elements get shamelessly reused between the shows. I started with Wing back in the day, so watching Fighter G and Gundam X later there were a lot of great "aha" moments for me.
I love the DX because while having one of the most destructive long range weapon among mobile suit, that it's considered a weapon of mass destruction....it can just throw hand and punch everything into submission
The craziest part is, the Microwave power transmission system does exist in real life, and has been put to use on projects. Initial concepts involved solar panel satellites beaming down microwave to earth, where it would be received by a Rectenna(rectifying antenna) which would turn the microwave into DC power for practical space-to-earth power transmission. However, that concept never happened, and instead in the 80's the Canadians made SHARP(Stationary High Altitude Relay Platform) which was a UAV that would hover in high altitude for months and act as a radio relay with power being beamed up from an array of microwave emitter antennas with mechanical tilt to follow the UAV. It was supposed to move onto Phased-Array microwave emitter to increase reliability, but mice ate the prototype and it got cancelled. Japan would go on to create its successor, MILAX(MIcrowave Lifted Airplane eXperiment) which did use a phased array emitter mounted on the roof of a van to constantly follow and power a UAV, allowing it to fly long distance on wireless energy.
Truly a fearsome machine with a fascinating history. I think I've settled on which series I'm doing next. Moon powered weapons of mass destruction and off the walls refits with spare parts, here I come!

I still find the entire concept of dropping whole colonies to make a point so funny and dumb since you'd be able to achieve the same effect by just redirecting asteroids from the asteroid belt into a collision course for far cheaper, and you don't lose your colony in the process (and as a counterpoint the UNE defense strategy would be more effective if they just ditched the whole Gundam part of it and just turn it into an array of satellite cannons, maybe they could've thwarted the colony drop had they just done that). But hey, it ain't Gundam if you're not dropping a giant metal tube onto the planet I guess x'D
I really like the X Divider’s Beam shield. Having a really wide shot just looks usually and it probably reminds me of Galactia Knight From Kirby Super Star Ultra who can also shoot a Crescent shaped beam from his shield.
In my school vr game, the Gundam double x was able to fight Goalius for a while and deverstated him with the twin satellite cannons, which he was found by the dawn of fold in everfree forest but he was found in a infected broodemother lair and were able to talk it to give him back
The Double X will never not be my favorite Gundam, nothing so far has topped it, but there's been some that come close to at least being as cool looking as it, hell it's so cool my own custom Gundam, the Eclipse Gundam (YESI know there's one in Seed, but I thought of this far before I knew about that) is based off it but taken to the extreme with like, 4 Cannons for maximum carnage, LOL.
I had a couple of these kits in the late 90's. Early 2000's. I wish I knew for the life of me what happened to them. I forgot until I watched this video. But gundam airmaster. Always sticks in the back of my mind
Ah yes, a strong point. They do look more like a pair of W's on the back of the Gundam, so it should be called by the simple and easy to say name of 'Gundam Double Double-u.'
Surprisingly large amount of meat here, given how short Gundam X is and how little supplementary material it has. Still one of my favorite Gundam series though, and the X Divider is one of my favorite Gundam designs.
You seem to forget to mention that most of the relay satellites were destroyed during the mass colonies drop too, and this greatly reduce the efficiency of satellite system.
Thank you I feel the GX and DX are a bit underrated and While I love Wing Zero more I feel the Satellite Canon is more powerful than the Buster Rifles when it comes to colony destroying in one shoot though the Busters are better since they don’t depend on a system to be fired and recharged. I mean I could very well be wrong but thats how I see it.
So no mention of the GB-9007 gundam belphagor which is the precursor to the gundams ashtaron and virsago? Welp, maybe that will be apart of their development history at some point 😂.
Wow.......The antagonists in Gundam X did something Zeon never could. Succeed in enacting Total Earthnoid Death or rather just enough to pretty much irreparably destroy the Earth just as Char intended.

Will a video covering leopard, airmaster and belphaghor
Funny how the Leopard was Greenish-blue but turns red when upgraded, meanwhile the Heavyarms was red turned blue. Coincidence?
The Double X will never not be my favorite Gundam, nothing so far has topped it, but there's been some that come close to at least being as cool looking as it, hell it's so cool my own custom Gundam, the Eclipse Gundam (YESI know there's one in Seed, but I thought of this far before I knew about that) is based off it but taken to the extreme with like, 4 Cannons for maximum carnage, LOL.
Jesus, did the revolutionary army have a colony printer? Those things were a zeke's wet dream
I believe this is the first video dedicated to the gundam x universe.
Happy holidays
Would you do a video covering Under the Moonlight? Gundam X needs more love!
Not to be confused with Mega Man X: The ONLY known reploid that can use the Shining Finger.
"SIGMAAA!!!"
"EEEGGGSSS"
I had a couple of these kits in the late 90's. Early 2000's. I wish I knew for the life of me what happened to them. I forgot until I watched this video. But gundam airmaster. Always sticks in the back of my mind
Ah yes, a strong point. They do look more like a pair of W's on the back of the Gundam, so it should be called by the simple and easy to say name of 'Gundam Double Double-u.'
Gundam W X-treme... Piloted by Hidari Shotaro, assisted by a Faux Newtype AI system called Philip.
*WBX starts playing*
Surprisingly large amount of meat here, given how short Gundam X is and how little supplementary material it has. Still one of my favorite Gundam series though, and the X Divider is one of my favorite Gundam designs.
God, I love Gundam X! still made that we never got that Master Grade GX Divider >:(
Now waiting for a Development History for Airmaster, Leopard, and the Belphagor
You seem to forget to mention that most of the relay satellites were destroyed during the mass colonies drop too, and this greatly reduce the efficiency of satellite system.
Thank you I feel the GX and DX are a bit underrated and While I love Wing Zero more I feel the Satellite Canon is more powerful than the Buster Rifles when it comes to colony destroying in one shoot though the Busters are better since they don’t depend on a system to be fired and recharged. I mean I could very well be wrong but thats how I see it.
GX-990’s is like giving everyone a Wing Zero 😅😅
So no mention of the GB-9007 gundam belphagor which is the precursor to the gundams ashtaron and virsago? Welp, maybe that will be apart of their development history at some point 😂.
Love the unit 3 just being a bonfire
I’m guessing the satellite system equipment from the Bit units we’re t not compatible with the actual Gundam X?
Wow.......The antagonists in Gundam X did something Zeon never could. Succeed in enacting Total Earthnoid Death or rather just enough to pretty much irreparably destroy the Earth just as Char intended.
FINALLY GUNDAM X SUPREMACY!!!!
Daughtress when?
