You just SAVED MY LIFE. I was about to throw this Cameo 4 out the window! I have been trying to fix my cutting issue for hours! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much! After 2 failed attempts, I finally got the correct cut after following your tip to change to 'letter' setting! :)
You explained everything I’ve been having trouble with. I’m a beginner. This the first video I have found that the person actually explained to where I understood the instructions. Thank you
You are so welcome!
YOY SAVED MY TIME IN 20 MIN. THANK YOU
Thank you for doing this again I have had a lot of problems doing print and cut but I did it right after this video and it worked perfect
That letter size paper tip...GOLD. God Bless you!!I have searched high and low for this solution and I found it here. Even bought a new printer..sighhh
Glad it helped!
OMG so glad I found this video. I had all the settings correct BUT once I shut off my lights IT WORKED perfectly. Thank you for all your videos!!! Keep them coming.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. The thing that was messing up the cutting of my stickers was a led light that is located on the ceiling on top of my silhouette machine. I turned it off before sending the work to cut and now the cutting is so accurate!! This tutorial has saved a lot of time and money for me, as I do many stickers and have wasted so much expensive material. Thank you!
This is so aggravating. I spend more money on mistakes than I do actually selling. Ugh
Hi there! I'd suggest popping over to Silhouette U where you can get 1:1 help with Melissa. silhouetteu.com/pages/silhouette-videos-help
Me to!!
I've been trying to print some stickers for my best friend for the better part of the afternoon, and was getting really frustrated! Thank you so much for your video! You explained everything in a way that someone like myself who is not well versed in Silhouette stuff at ALL could understand. You really saved my bacon!! Thank you so much!
That's great!! Glad you got it fixed
THIS. Finally found the video that fixed my issues!!! thank you so much! If your stickers are cutting off center than try her tips!
Thank you!! I never thought to close the lid slightly on my portrait to get it to register. I’ve been fighting with this machine to register since I bought it! Subscribing now to all of your videos lol
Thank you so much! I have watched so many videos and they are what to show me how to manually do the registration marks. This was the only video I found that was more indepth.
Thank you for your videos. They have been awesome with me picking back up crafting
Thank you! This was a great video! I bought the sticker paper thanks to you! What white cardstock do you like for printing embellishments?
thank you so much for this! after weeks of registration failed then i tried the tricks and it worked:) ! from the philippines :)
Thank you for these tips.
I'm new to Silhouette, so thank you for this video!!!!!
Welcome!
I'm glad I came back to this. I've been having issues with the lines being too high and i forgot about the doing a single sheet at a time fix.
Glad that fixed it
Great video. I don’t have a silhouette (do use the software) but these tips would probably help Cricut users too. Thank you
OMG I got it figured out thank you for all the tips! You’re awesome!!!
So glad!
Thank you so much for this video you've solved all of my problems. I would never have checked the letter page setting, you've saved me so much time and money.
Glad it helped!
I did not know about the shadows!! This is a game changer. Thank you
Thank you for this! I did everything you said and it worked for me!
Great to hear!
Thank you! I’m very new to Silhouette and this video solved my problems 😊
Glad I could help!
Great tips as always thank you
I have had the original silhouette studio for years.. have not done print and cut yet. I may finally be brave enough to try
Thank you so much for sharing this video. It's so helpful! I'm glad I found your video😭🤝❤ I can finally cut my stickers normally
You are a lifesave thank you so much for this video ❤ I was ready to give up 😂
You're so welcome!
Wow this is literally the most helpful video on the internet right now lol thank you so much!!! Print and cut has been making me soo frustrated I was ready to throw my machine away lol
Glad it helped!
OMG!!! You just saved me. I was just about to give up! It worked before but I could not get it to work and I thought it was my new epson printer but after watching this video I tried it one more time and it worked!!!! Thank you so much I was so ready to cry lol
Glad I could help
I also think that there is something glitchy with the most recent software update. I got a brand new laptop and I could not for the life of me get print and cut to work ( I'm very familiar with it as I have been making stickers for almost 4 years) but it was working PERFECTLY with my old laptop..so perfect that I could even cut in the dark.. I was getting frustrated with my new laptop, I was gonna return it.. then I was working on my old one and updated the software on that one and I was having the same issues I was with the new laptop. So I figured it was the software update..so I downgraded to the Legacy version and surprise surprise, BOTH my laptops are print and cutting PERFECTLY.
How do you downgrade
@@marquettawashington8993 if you go to silhoutteamerica website, go to downloads and download the Legacy version, which is at the bottom.. but uninstall the software off your computer first and then download the Legacy one 🙂
@gunmetalpuppy13 what legacy version fixed this issue for you?
You are fire!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I love your vids and blog!!
My pleasure!!
I literally love you. I was looking for calibration videos. I was going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what was going on with my cameo 4! You just saved silhouette in my book and for that I thank you.
This video just solve my puzzle. Such simple mistake!!!
Hi melissa. Excellent video!! Thank you. I would like to know about what can I resolve, usually my machine spend many seconds in the main black left square.
How can I do? Thank you again.
Oh my God, I’ve been struggling for about two hours. Watched your video and boom. It was all printer problems. I remove the paper except for the one I’m using and the registration mark printed perfectly. I didn’t even notice that the other tries. It was not printing correctly and it’s working like a charm just like it was before today. Thanks for the great info.
such a simple fix, right? It was my problem too.
a lifesaver thank you so much
Thank you so so much for sharing these tips 💙💙💙
You are so welcome!
Hello! I love your videos and find them so helpful. Would you do a video on how to print and cut on glossy printable vinyl. I am having a issue with my Brother ink jet printer not loading the glossy vinyl. It keeps slipping or jamming up. Are there any tricks to get the vinyl to load and print properly? Thanks in advance for your time and help!
Check out this blog post! It's about sticker paper, but same general idea! www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2019/01/tips-for-printing-and-cutting-on-glossy.html
This was awesome, thank you!
Since you mentioned printers, I would like to add in my 2 cents. If you do a lot of printing it's worth your money to spend more to buy a printer with ink tanks instead of one that uses ink cartridges. Printer companies sell cheap printers at cost and then make the ink super expensive, but ink tank printers are more upfront but the ink is cheaper. As an Etsy sticker shop owner, I would never go back to ink cartridges. Not only is it most cost-effective, but I don't have to worry about changing out the ink cartridges twice a week.
What printer do you use?
@@tarafaithe I myself use a Epson ecotank printer ET-2720.
@@edosystem2009 I did end up buying that one!
Yes ecotank is great i have 2 different epson ecotanks 3800 for most of my prints & the 8550 for my high end pictures
I've installed the software on my new laptop and was pulling my hair out as I couldn't do print and cut which is the majority of what i use my machine for. Thanks so much for this, I realised the bottom registration marks weren't printing correctly, changed the paper to Letter instead of A4 and it's now working like a dream! a million thank you's! xxx
Glad that fixed it for you
yay! thank you so much. My cutter all of a sudden wasn't cutting evenly around the stickers. It wound up to be an issue with the printer! I had put a wad of copy paper in it and the sticker paper was being printed slightly off due to it. I decided that must be the issue when I saw the part in the video when you explained about having other paper in your tray. Thank you so much. I knew my youtubers would know what to do. I seriously appreciate your content
Glad I could help!
I was trying to cut stickers with black stripes designs in it, cameo detected that as registration marks lol 😣
You just saved my sanity!! Thank you!!
You're welcome!!
I am having an issue with the registrations marks being read and then the Cameo project "completes" and goes to "unload" mode without cutting. Then I noticed projects are placed in the queue, but when I go back nothing happens. I am going to give this a try to see if I can get it cut. Thanks for the tips!
Hi Melissa thanks for the video! Question: what settings do I need to put on my silhouette studio for print & cut? (Pressure pases etc)
My portrait always cut the paper all the way down & I don't know why or what I do wrong...

Glad I could help!
I’m very new to silhouette. I have a Cricut My husband bought me a cameo 4. I’m terrified. Lol. This video will help me. I look forward to more of these videos to help me gain confidence on using this program and my machine.

Thank you thank!...
I got it😁🤗
Any tips if your cut is slightly off when you don't do an offset? I find I have to trim a bit of white off one side of my image. The cut is not right on the image, but 1/16 off from the image, so you see the white paper between the image and the cut.
Hi there! Make sure the media you're selecting is the correct size, and try adjusting your lighting (or pulling the top over). These could both help.
You're great! I appreciate your clean content. What if I use A4?
THANK YOU! I see you have a huge hp printer! Wonder what kind of HP it is for your nice quality stickers? Thanks!
www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/08/best-printer-for-silhouette-cameo-portrait.html check out this blog post!
Thank you for this video! This is one of the reasons I dread software "upgrades!" Although something new function is added or fixes something; but invariably it breaks something that was working just fine! The heart and soul of print and cut are the registration marks....and now....they may or may not print correctly??? Very frustrating.
Melissa you are so smart, you always figure that stuff out! Thank you
Do I need to go through the calibrating process before these steps because I have updated the software to 4.4.552 & haven't used Print & Cut for about 2 years? Also, my printer smudged my Registration mark on my Printable HTV sheet. I'm not sure what type of paper would be similar to select in my printer to avoid the smudging. Thank you, Melissa
Hi there! You shouldn't need to calibrate. Just make sure you have good lighting, and print a copy that doesn't smudge the registration marks. Check out this post for optimal print setting: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/01/why-best-printer-for-stickers-isnt.html
Hi I want to ask what is the reason if the machine cannot print properly, as the edges is not cut well?
THANK YOU!! I didn't realize that the design couldn't be in the hashed area at all. Once I covered up the design that was, it registered the right marks and cut perfectly!
I removed my little piece of paper that covered the design that was on the hashed area after it registered, but before it cut!
Glad I could help!
I just bought a portrait 3 and am loving your channel and the portrait! Thank you for making tutorials I’m wondering if you might know what would cause lines to print on print and cut with breaks in them? My artwork looks normal on the screen and on my computer but when I print with silhouette there are jagged lines and breaks in my artwork that shouldn’t be there. I’m drawing them in procreate at 300 dpi and transferring as pngs to my MacBook and importing them to silhouette if I make them bigger like 3 per page it happens less but still there, the cut feature works great though. I know it’s a weird problem I can’t seem to find it happening to anyone else.
Thanks
Mine does it too. I haven't figured it out. I try to not print from SS, but it's kinda required for print & cut.
You may want to look at the print resolution settings (gear at the bottom right hand corner> general> bottom "print resolution"). Change the print DPI to match what you are importing from Procreate.
I’ve found another video regarding the issue, the guy was using Mac and had the same problems (lines over his artwork), and then he downgraded the software version to 4.3.370 and that solved the issue. Hope this helps.
Had same issue. Mark „Print Bleed“ and set bleed radius to 0. It helped for me.
Hi I'm trying to make a 9 photo panel cushion so I have 8 photos 5" by 5" they are fine. So i wanted to cut a 5" by 5" square with words in to put in the centre of the cushion but only the words have printed off and not the square shape. How do i keep the square shape so it comes out as a border please for me to cut thank you
Hi, thanks for this. I had problems until I followed advice from you. One question, I use the online labels silhouette settings listed on their site to cut but they don't mention speed on their site, so I just used the default speed of four or five. you use 30 for matte stickers?
I suggest slowing speed when there is more intricacy. For smooth outlines, higher speed is fine!
@@SilhouetteSchool Thanks! That is very helpful!
Hi Melissa! Can you pls give some advice on how to correct the cameo not picking up the first, upper left hand corner registration mark! My problem begins there! Tsk!,,
Check out this video it talks about why the top left registration mark may not be found - either printing too high (b/c the material is being grabbed too late) or not covering the grid line on the cutting mat.
@@SilhouetteSchool I'm sorry, which video?
@@SilhouetteSchool There isn't a link. Thx.
Dose the same principle apply with the curio
Thank you for this video, I have a sticker shop and sometimes I run into problems with my printer printing my designs right. Im gonna try your steps and hopefully it will work for me too! (=
Wonderful!
Fantastic video
For anyone in Australia use A4 letter is an american size paper
Hope that helps
This just saved my life!!! I run a sticker business and traded my cricut for a silhouette and it would cut my stickers right! Found this video and back on 🎉
Glad it helped!
I have two Cameo 4's. Purchased a few months apart. I can cut the same sheet on both of them but they both have different 'sweet' spots. One of them, the area the eye looks for the registration marks seems to be very exact / small. I'm so frustrated with it. I have to move my mat a millimeter at a time to hit the spot. It will rarely manually register. Is there a way to make the sweet spot more consistent / larger? My other cameo can cut in near darkness, with crappy / tiny registration marks but not the brand new one! Firmware is all updated.
Unfortunately, you'd probably want to contact Silhouette America for this.
Do you have any videos on how to calibrate the cameo 3?
Here is a tutorial on how to calibrate a Silhouette CAMEO www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/06/how-to-calibrate-silhouette-cameo.html
no shadows you need to have a bright enough area because if you dont have enough light in that area you will have cutting issues as well.
My cameo 4 makes a weird noise when I cut transparent sticker paper, then it cuts very improperly , and unaligned. Maybe my settings are to high or the adhesive on my Matt is fading away ? What do you think ?
Hey there! I would maybe try this little trick: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/10/silhouette-print-and-cut-registration-failed.html
hey could you address a problem i need help with, everytime i print thru silhouette studio, i get a cut line chopped thru the print
Hi there! Without being able to see it, it would be hard to diagnose what's happening.
With the print and cut. Can you cut without having the image on the screen. Will it cut if you just have the registration marks on the paper?
I'm not sure I understand your question
Thanks you saved me to at least get my old labels printed/cut. Couldn't figure out why labels I've been printing for years we're totally screwed up (haven't printed them in a year or so). It had to be an update in studio. The registration marks didn't work anymore and somehow it filled it the middle of letters with color. Remember, they were perfect before. Someone mention make/release compound path, yet, that took all the color away and made most letters themselves individual items. I have no recourse than to re-create a very detailed jar label. I did change the registration marks to default and and had to resize all the labels and printed these screwed up labels, just to get the jars done. I didn't have the hours to recreate such detail (since I had to figure out size of each section, fonts used, etc which were not available once I had grouped everything initially. I wish Studio had tested their update better (it could have been one of 3 updates that screwed everything up).
This video was very helpful - and if I'm always using "letter sized" paper, it works great. Problem is, I use a lot of A4 decal paper and when I set the proper page size on Silhouette Cameo 3, it throws the bottom registration mark way off. Any way I can fix it so I can use my A4 paper? Thanks in advance!!!
Hey there! I think we'd need some more information to help! Shoot us an email with some photos of where the registration marks are printing and a screenshot of your workspace setup www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/p/blog-page_9.html
I looked through the comments because I’m having the same problem with A4 size paper if y’all ever figured it out PLEASE LET ME KNOW
This video is a wonder! Any luck with the A4?
Hello, I just got the cameo 4 plus and I'm trying to print and cut Honey labels. I designed the labels Inkscape and exported as PNG from 320dpi down to 250dpi, but no matter what I do, it comes out printing horribly from silhouette studio. Very fuzzy and pizelated. Any suggestions to get me going? This would be a huge deal breaker for me since I need to design my own labels and can't use stock graphics.
Thank you!

Mine doesn't even catch the top left registration mark (the square one)... what should I do? And just earlier, when it FINALLY found it (by luck, I think), it cut 5.5 inches when what was on silhouette studio was 5.05 inches. It cut all the way to my mat. Please help. Thank you.

Hello, I've tried setup the page setup. Even if I set both printer and the silhouette to letter size and it prints the whole mark on the bottom, it still doesn't want to register because the bottom mark it's not below enough like yours, not nearing the edge of the paper. the registration mark is always at default. I'm sorry if it's a stupid question, but I don't know how to fix this page setup issue :(
Also, I tested with a normal paper first, size A4 because that's the only size I have.

Hiii Melissaaa ♥♥♥♥♥
I just bought my silhouette cameo PLUS ♥ and registered my account, then downloaded the software for Mac, and I get an error when installing it.
I think it is because I had connected the USB machine to the computer before installing the software.
How can i fix this? What can I do now? I do not install the software.... Thank you
Hey there! We wrote back to your dm. Could you please send a screenshot of the error message you're getting over there? Thanks!
Hi,
I have a different problem and I'm hoping someone knows how to fix it. When I preview/print my design from Silhouette, it will be slightly faded out and not the same colour as before the preview/printing. Also, when printing through Photoshop, the prints come out more vibrant than with Silhouette.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Hi there! Check out this tutorial: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/06/how-to-improve-print-colors-from.html
Hello, is it possible to cut two 5x7 sticker sheets on a letter size sheet with adjusting the registration marks? My cuts are slightly off and I tried everything but I need to cut 2 5x7 sheets out of 1 sheet and that means I have to adjust the registration marks. Is there a right way to do this?
You actually don't..just draw a 5x7 box in the work area and have that be the sticker sheet edge. Then put the stickers within it. You can leave the registration marks in the default spot. Use this tutorial > www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2021/10/how-to-make-sets-of-kiss-cut-stickers.html
Hi,
Whenever I used jet pro ss or opaque heat transfer paper for print and cut lettrrs on the mat it is very hard for me to transfer it on the shirts. Is there any way to transfer it first on any film or am I doing wrong? Please reply.

Not sure if you can help me, but my registration marks are being read correctly however it starts cutting perfectly top part but it slightly moving it down, so the lower half of the design the design is cut lower, it is weird cus top half is right and bottom half not
Hey there, that actually sounds like your machine might be reading shadows instead of the actual registration marks. The lighting portion of this video should help :)
My hp 8610 gets paper stickages always. Went to a Canon for rear feed flat printing.
That's a great idea!
I want to print my cutlines design. Is that possible as well?
Hey there! If you want your cut lines to print, you'll need to add a line weight. www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/05/why-isnt-text-printing-from-silhouette.html
I need some help! When I hit print from the silhouette studio, the image prints black and white. I checked the printer and it is working properly-I have an Epson eco tank 2760 and it is able to print color. I’m using glossy sticker paper-any advice is appreciated!
Hi there! It sounds like you may need to go into your print settings and turn off greyscale or black and white printing. It is often a check box.
Hi I do not have a printer at home, but i have a portrait silouette. Can I still use if i print my copies outside my home?
I would probably print and cut a few test pages first before you order anything in bulk.
Please, please help! I have followed ALL the instructions on this video, however, my bottom left and top right marks still are not registering correctly. It seems as if it's about half an inch off both vertically and horizontally. I am using easysubli and have my default settings on. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Hi there! Make sure that you are using the correct size settings for your easy subli page. It sounds like your machine is looking for the registration marks in the wrong spot.
I have had my Cameo 3 since they came out. Can you please please please do a video on the pixscan mat? all the videos I have watched help but I keep getting a warning saying that the image cant be used when I do the calibration page it wont load for me to get past that step

Hello. Thanks for the video. I have a peoblem for cutting. Beggigning cuttings are good (first line)and correct but the later (second line)which is down part of the paper of sticker are not correct. So one page, Beggigning is good but later after bigginging is not good. It seems cutting more down side. Do you know why...?

Why is my image messed up in the same exact areas when the printer prints it?
I need a video of how you do this on the computer cause I'm still having problems.
normally when mine is off, it is the two top ones and they print way to high. Is that the same issue? Also, what if it finds the registration makes, but the cut is off.
Definitely try these troubleshooting tips!
This may have been answer but does getting a new mat affect this process? I have gotten silhouette mats before (super sticker and regular) everytime I have to adjust and unfortunately waste nice paper. Suggestions? Also love your page I have been following you since 2020. Thank you for everything ❤
Getting a new mat should not make a difference and thanks for following!
Awesome thank you! That eliminated my crazy thought process 😅
I did all you said for the settings, however my design is still not cutting out right. The top portion cuts out great but the bottom part is off. It’s not going for by much but it’s cutting off some of the design. Could my printer be too old it’s an HP envy 4500 and I have a silhouette cameo printer
Hi there! If you have overhead lights make sure that you're not getting shadows. The shadows could be causing misreads in the registration marks.
@L Hatchet Did you find a solution to your problem?
HI there! I really need help! I just got my cameo 4 and I feel like all of these things are good on what you said, but my cameo is cutting diagonally? Everything prints good (next time I need to check the registration marks, but I haven't changed any of those settings ever), I am super careful about making sure the paper is straight on the mat, and it registers good, but then I think the cut is going good because the first row is always okay, but by the end of it, the cuts are all the way to the right. I tried calibrating it, restarting my computer, and what feels like everything. I'm very frustrated and just want to go back to hand cutting my stickers 😣

One of my problems is cut not getting close enough to design and leave a white border around the design. How do I adjust that to cut closer?
Either create an offset and fill it with the color of the design (but cut the edge of the design) to create a bleed area or create an internal offset in Silhouette Studio and cut that instead of the actual edge of the design (also creating a bleed area)
Hai, you have tutorial print and cut other size ? Like 12" x 18"
