Hi. If you look at the towing capacity and consider horse trailering then you need a good car and a permanent tow bar. A reasonable sports horse is 650 kg. A double horse trailer would end up at 2,200 kg for trailer and horse but MOST likely you'd need 2,400 minimum and up to 3,000kg in reality. So if you like this market, look for machines that can handle the weight legally and not those that look like they should!
Diamond cut alloys look great until you actually drive the car. They often hit the kerb before any part of the tyre and if you frequently parallel park you'd have to be extremely good at it not to damage them (I'm not - my nearside rear wheel always is a little kerbed). My neighbour's son has a Sportage of this era - been really good as far as I know and his dog is very happy with it too.

I had a 2007 turbodiesel Kia Carens from new. It was an ok car generally but the turbo blew after only 60,000 miles, which would have been a very expensive repair so we got rid of it. I'm very wary of turbocharged engines now.
I had a 2003 Peugeot 206 and the turbo blew, while I was on a date as well (I know, I really treat the ladies taking them about in my Peugeot 206), which was rather embarrassing with the amount of smoke it produced 😅 So I just scrapped it as it was on 160k miles and I think the previous owner had remapped the engine and maybe tweaked the turbo which probably didn’t help. Bought another 206 with the same engine though and still have it to this day after driving 80k miles with it. Fingers crossed the turbo doesn’t suddenly go kaboom again 😂
@@X-boomerDoes anybody listen to Scotty Kilmer ? I think American car owners are the majority problem in the USA. Kias are good quality in general and the dealer service in the UK is good. They did new axle brackets on my 12 year old Sorento Mk1 under warranty ( it was only a 3 year warranty then but as a safety issue they covered it, and they did new fuel tanks free as well when they had a paint issue clogging filters, but I sorted my own out)
Hifly is actually not a horrible budget tire. They are by no means a triple a brand but when it comes to cheap 'crappy' tires, they are among the ones I'd put a small low powered car on in a pinch. Not something like this though.
Well done Matt you did very good on this car . Someone will have a good car because of your help😅 These cars are very good family cars . You made a small profit but it's a profit. Nice one Cyril (Matt) Kevin from miserable Rainy ☔ Radcliffe 😢😂😅
As a ex HGV 1 driver Matt, we used to hate them cars why o why do KIA put the rear indicators so low, the number I’ve seen that are filthy it’s a real bad idea, going back in time, just look how high FIAT put indicators on Puntos and Pandas, easy to see from four cars back.
I remember many years ago I had a 1992 Ford Orion from new. I had it approx 6 years and then traded it in for something else. The car had no service history whatsoever. A few months later I saw the car on a dealers forecourt a few miles away from where I lived. I enquired about the car as it showed in the windscreen FSH. I was told by the salesman it had full service history. From this point I never trusted a service book ever again
Northumberland fire brigade run a fleet of kia sportages. Great cars. Kia and Hyundai are great brands if you want a good car, good warranty and are not a badge snob. They are up there with the other brands now ... just a bit better imo.
It's the alloy wheel refurb price I can't get my head around here, I know you're in the trade, but I've got the same problem of crusty alloys on my Hyundai ix35 with the similar diamond cut two-tone alloys and my local alloy refurb place want £150....per wheel!
Still waiting for you to do an Optima Matt, preferably the first generation, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised tbh Mines done 275k miles, all on the original stuff, turbo, starter motor, alternator etc etc

I had a 2007 turbodiesel Kia Carens from new. It was an ok car generally but the turbo blew after only 60,000 miles, which would have been a very expensive repair so we got rid of it.
I'm very wary of turbocharged engines now.
I had a 2003 Peugeot 206 and the turbo blew, while I was on a date as well (I know, I really treat the ladies taking them about in my Peugeot 206), which was rather embarrassing with the amount of smoke it produced 😅
So I just scrapped it as it was on 160k miles and I think the previous owner had remapped the engine and maybe tweaked the turbo which probably didn’t help.
Bought another 206 with the same engine though and still have it to this day after driving 80k miles with it. Fingers crossed the turbo doesn’t suddenly go kaboom again 😂
strange person
@@Drenwickification Scotty Kilmer reckons both European cars and Korean cars are junk. Japanese cars FTW. At least the ones actually made in Japan.
Most turbo problems arise from people not knowing how turbos operate
Someone will have a good car because of your help😅
These cars are very good family cars .
You made a small profit but it's a profit.
Nice one Cyril (Matt)
Kevin from miserable Rainy ☔ Radcliffe 😢😂😅
As a ex HGV 1 driver Matt, we used to hate them cars why o why do KIA put the rear indicators so low, the number I’ve seen that are filthy it’s a real bad idea, going back in time, just look how high FIAT put indicators on Puntos and Pandas, easy to see from four cars back.
Matt you must love your mechanic, keeping him and his family in luxury.
Still waiting for you to do an Optima Matt, preferably the first generation, I think you’d be pleasantly surprised tbh
Mines done 275k miles, all on the original stuff, turbo, starter motor, alternator etc etc
Matt, can you do a video on mpvs. I have had suvs for years but now they're too high for me to get into . Standard cars are too low so mpvs are best for me but most manufacturers stopped making them years ago
A few videos ago we had a close up of your face telling us 22°c on automatic was perfect haha
9:56 - it would not have a full history because last services were not done yearly, but every 2 year or so.
Looks like new. Brilliant job
Great video as always Matt. Love it pal.
Great video Matt. You do a great job 👏 you deserve more 👍
Set reg plates service clean mot detailed valet

@@HighPeakAutos We purchased a Sportage last year and we love it , first thing i did was get the wheels refurbishment.
Hi Matt,
I watch all the videos and this would be perfect for my Mum. Did it sell after the viewing you described in the video? I know you prepare things properly so it would great to do a deal on it.
Cheers
Carl
Hello. Yes it’s sold already. Cheers
@@HighPeakAutos thanks Matt. I’ll keep an eye on your stock and try and get in before the next video! 🤣
I think you need to review that Wonder Grip van. I bet the brakes have seized and the battery is flat.
I live in Tenerife so yes I know the blue sky feeling 😎
Again Matt you should have renegotiated your purchase price on this I would say 500 to 1,000 less then you would have had a smart deal
