Have now started doing what a experienced Allotment grower does, is pot seedlings up into a 7cm pot, and plant bigger, definitely working!!! Plus makes sense if the ground isn't quite ready.
Hi Dora another great video interesting to see how you chose youre plot ! My plot is dimilar to youre plot 2 but fortunately i had established fruit bushes and fruit trees. The plot was a mess but once cleared i found raised beds.I also keep my greenhouse at home as its more convenient to tend to young plants keep up the good work its a real joybto watch youre posts
@@doras.allotment Hi Dora it was every little thing helps ive put an awful lot of work into it ive loved it this year cant wait to have a full season on it
Great video 👍 🙂 As to keeping / not keeping the cage ... my thoughts would lean towards keeping it & using it to grow soft fruit in it so that the cage can keep birds off of the fruit
Great pointers for choosing an allotment, Dora. I had the choice of 4 on a small site of 10 plots. It was relativeley easy for me as all were overgrown with weeds, I choe the one which required the least work to clear. Your sunflowers look amazing by the way.
Sorry. I was saying, they are ten plots in a line so all similar orientation as far as the sun shines. I have had my plot a number of years now. I will be covering any bare beds with empty compost bags with holes pierced in them.
Thanks Dora, I love South Wales, where did you visit may I ask ? My Mum was born in Pembrokeshire, and I'd love to visit again but it's a long journey from us on the Essex coast ! You were fortunate to have such nice plots to choose between, but of course that makes the decision that much harder,. I would have been tempted by the greenhouse too, but I think you chose the right plot in the end !
Isn’t it pretty! This was ogmore-by-sea as my friends live nearby - was such a calming spot. Pembrokeshire really is sudden but you’re right quite a trek from your direction- worth it though 😃 You’re so right, I did a LOT of back and forthing as it felt like a commitment. I am definitely pleased with my selection though - got there in the end. Thank you for watching again this week ☺️
Hi 👋🏻 this is a ‘tree spinach’ - is that the same as what you’re growing? It wasn’t quite as tall until it set seed but blimey it’s impressive… as for how it’s so big… I haven’t given it much attention. Thank you for watching ☺️
Some great advice there for anyone getting their first allotment. Are you going to Malvern show Dora ? Word on the street is all the gardening vloggers are meeting up for a few pints and a chat about us viewers 😂
Hi George 👋🏻 thank you, pleased you thought so - I was worried it was a bit of a nonsensical ramble. Haha! I’m sadly not heading there this autumn as I have other plans - I’ll have to get more organised next year 😃
if sun is the true source of light then how come you human slaves can only look at the sun during sunset times as if the sun burns with less intensity but that can't be because sunset at one location is morning afternoon evening sun else where ?

Very wise!! That’s one of my learnings from this year is to pot up poor seedlings when I’m not quite ready for them 🪴

Thank you! & for sharing your thoughts on the cage, that’s a good point… lots to ponder 💭

Were they similar sizes/location? Good luck with the weed clearing over the winter. Are you going to cover them over or get digging?
@doras.allotment Hi Dora. Yes, they were all similar size and basicly

Can you allot a Room For Guests . 1:02 0:48 0:53 0:56
Can you believe there are no allotments in Canada? Like zero
That is surprising, none at all! Do you all tend to have gardens? Thanks for watching 🙂
