The interesting thing about Carmella being "stuck" in a relationship with Tony is that she isn't willing to take any chances. Much like how Angie Bonpensiero did - but that would require years of stress and hard work. Carmella is the kind of character who wants all the rewards but no risks.
That’s most people. Angie was forced into that. G-d forbid, something happened to Tony, she would be tested. Maybe she goes the Angie route, maybe the Ro route. But she would survive and thrive, not crumble.
Not really... as she said, Tony put up a fuss and resistance to her getting her realtors license because much in the same way he didnt like Finn paying for dinner, his wife working is an affront to his masculine image. She and Tony also do the same thing to AJ when he decides he wants to join the army. And tony has a similar attitude towards Chris when he stops drinking and hanging around the bing. She definitely isnt willing to leave the fancy life and money behind, but thats different from saying she isnt willing to do for herself
If you noticed, Tony did what the dude told him in the season finale of last season....the guy from Whitecaps..talk to all the attorneys first to create the conflict of interest.
I love this episode because of how crazy it is. Finn proposed to Meadow because he was too tired to continue arguing and admits it to her and she happily excepts which is just moronic. Also Carmella sleeps with Tony and wants to get back with him but since he doesn't show any interest in that she feels she has to save face and file for divorce to prove to him she doesn't want to get back. Then the whole Vito thing to top it off
I still don't get how finn wld let meadow make that whole thing w vito abt their relationship. Vito is not playing, he is in danger. How can you go back to work after that.
@theramplocal Yeah, if I were him, I think I would have just gone straight to Tony just so the secret is already out and Vito wouldn't have a need to come after me to keep his secret plus he'd be too busy running from NJ. Plus, start packing a gun in his lunch box every day might help, lol

3:16 You can see the redness in Tonys shoulders bc that was filmed in the winter. Gandolfini said it was miserable being sleeveless and having to act as if it 🎉were hot out.
Tony's lack of growth is what makes the series great, for me. The guy refuses over and over to really examine anything Melfi tells him to observe (except in very specific points), just like many people do in real life. He only wants the panic attacks to go, but not solve the underlying causes. As a result, he just gets worse and worse, but even that happens in a "mediocre", non-cinematic way, no hollywood bullshit. It's just like real life, when it comes to the character psychology.
As Formal renamed the episode Unidentified “mufuckas” 😂😂😂 this episode holds sooo much weight because it’s a building blocks episode. This episode is a straight up comedy episode, except the John Sac part Johnnys always the number 1
She lost that $40k in the stock market after hearing the wives of the neighbors speaking about their stock picks. But they were using insider information and knew when to pull out
She could definitely start a new life if she really wanted to. Remember how she was looking down at Puss’ wife for working at the supermarket? THAT’S why she can’t at the moment. She (like a lot of people) is standing in her own way and her mindset is all wrong. Yes, she could sell the house and get a cheaper place. She can sell loads of things. She CAN cook. Didn’t she also dabble in property design until she got bored? She’d definitely need to change her last name though lol. And Vito, such a cutie with his little wobble. Don’t you remember seeing him in an earlier episode when Chris was kicking off in the bakery (homage to his part in Goodfellas)? Vito was the only other customer in there. Too funny. Great convo guys 🥰
Tha was Gino, not Vito. Seriously :D. The Vito character did not exist in the show when the bakery scene was filmed, and Gino was supposed to be just an extra. Show creators liked him, so he got a bigger role. And of course there are crazy theories like he is Vito's identical twin etc., but that is just a funny fact.
I don't think she can sell the house since it's not hers. Only if Tony let her and we know that's not happening. The car might be in her name, but he is usually the one buying her cars as gifts, so that's probably in his name as well. Like Tony says, everything she has is from the work he does, and she is not entitled to any of it. If she did try to go through with the divorce, Tony would probably just take the house back and evict her freeloader ass. I would
You guys are having a ball with this, love it! And thanks for calling out these wiseguys' bullshit blaming the UBM for whatever they get themselves into lol. Gotta say, I love the way Bralik says 'wild' LMAO
The Sopranos is based on an actual crime family (DeCavalcante crime family), and the gay Vito storyline is based on a former acting boss of that family (John D'Amato).
Many of the show's storylines came from the real life New York/New Jersey underworld. The gay Vito thing came from the real life John D'Amato, who was acting boss of the DeCavalcante family the Sopranos are loosely based on. It came out that he was swinging both ways and he was killed by other people in the crime family.
Being gay in the mafia is a guaranteed death sentence. If Finn went to that game... Vito would have killed him. Finn knows his life is in danger just by knowing what he knows. That’s probably why he wanted to get engaged. Gets him closer to Tony. He doesn’t seem to be in love with Meadow.
I don’t think little Paulie is his nephew by blood. It’s his mob family “nephew”. Just like Tony & Christopher aren’t blood related cousins. They’re mob cousins. (But Tony B is Tony’s blood cousin).
@@MrMarinegold There’s either a recent or soon to be seen episode where Adriana describes Christopher’s family tree & it’s not in Tony’s. It’s actually in Carmela’s family. Christopher is Carmelas cousin once removed. (Carmela's father Hugh and Chris's grandmother Lena were brother and sister). So Chris is Tony’s cousin-in-law I guess but they aren’t blood related.

Maybe in style, but definetly not with relation with the media. Johnny Sack is a private person, that understands that the business needs as little of press attention as possible. John Gotti was a media star during his mob days.
And the Gay Vito saga begins. Today Netflix would've made him main character and give him like 2-3 seasons. Sopranos is an older show, and they'll give the topic a reasonable amount of time. Too much in my opinion, as the whole saga could've been compressed, especially as season 6 is so squezeed, but let's be honest, today it would've been so much worse. And the story itself is interesting, with the scenes at the Bing about the subject are golden, as well as the perspective on it in the traditional organized crime, especially by the guys who "go the other way" in the prison (but that does not count, according to them :D). There are hints that even Phil "compromised" in that area in the prison, and most definetly Ritchie (he could only make love in the dark, had a violent reaction to Janice suggestion that he had a gay son etc.)
