I graduated in 1973 and except for the hazing this was pretty much my existence. If all the movies that follow this basic story line this is probably my favorite. Never the less I also suggest watching Hollywood Knights and American Graffiti.

Season 4 leans too hard into comedy for me. Season 3 is the bleakest Season and I think the writers felt that Season 3's drop in ratings had something to do with that, so they decided to amp up the comedy this time.

20:12 just before showing the dead fish, there is a scene witth the electric string tied to what i think is a spear head plunging into the water, electrifying the water, and causeing the water to rise into the air. I beleive this was the electric dudes way of checking the water for our 2 protagonists

I agree that there are goofy elements of this show. It's like when you watch some old timey movies depicting the 1920s where the characters (gents and flappers) are over the top, even though this is the 1950s. That's the feeling I get too. Currently on ep. 7 and that feeling doesn't go away. The storyline itself is pretty good, but I get what Formal is saying.

My fav western of his, The Good the bad and the ugly. Also a huge fan of Every which way but loose, ans Any which way you can , he plays a fighter. Fairly cheesy but he's so tough and fun to watch!

The only reason i had a sliver of sympathy for Randy was solely and entirely due to his age and not having anyone to school him. Only a sliver though. Thanks guys for doing this reaction for The Insider (if you can actually say the title). This is a great movie for me that's kind of been forgotten. Important story, well written script that creates all the dramatic potential out of the real story. Al Pacino and Russell Crowe are great but I think Christopher Plummer as Mike Wallace steals the movie. He's great. After the meeting with the lawyer and Pacino says, 'tortuous interference. Sounds like a disease caught by the radio.' Wallace says, 'Don;t worry, Lowell. We call the shots around here.' Classic.

My dad graduated in 1976 and every time he watches this movie he gets a twinkle in his eye.
