Dave is right! It did pave the way for a more long form higher quality cinematic T.V show. The Sopranos is hilarious which is often overlooked because everything else is so good. Keep it coming!
Yeah a big part of that was you couldn't watch on demand and the shows were syndicated. As a result individual episodes needed to stand on their own because you never knew what episode you could watch on any given day.
That line by Christopher "His house looked like shit..." was delivered so well hahaha The context is even better because Paulie's dumbass misunderstood the big Eastern European dude when he asked him what he did for a living.
The scene with the camouflage isn't ridiculous. When you deer hunt, you wear the orange vest so other hunters don't shoot you. Deer are color blind and can't see it, and the camo breaks up your silhouette so they can't see that, either.
Chase needed James to laugh in this scene cause of the outfit. Since Gandolfini knew what was coming, Schirippa was told to improvise to break James...so he walked in in camouflage holding a big, black dildo. And that,as they say, outta do it.
@@SAVikingSA They did that scene a bunch of times and couldn't get the right reaction, so what you can't see on the screen because of the editing is that the actor who plays Bobby walked into the room holding a big dildo to make Gandolphini laugh. He talked about it on a podcast.
The scene in the boat was when they killed Big Pussy Bonpensiero. He was working with the feds and they found out, and he knew he was gonna die so he was just trying to have an old time laugh with the guys before they killed him. "just not in the face"
Some of the actors thought the Sopranos was a comedy when they started working on it. Paulie and Chrissy stuck out in the middle of nowhere when the Russian mob guy gets away is my favorite funny episode.

Dick Cheyney’s hunting accident. I haven’t seen footage of course, but they were bird hunting so fine shot at close range. This isn’t a be silent and kill from a distance situation. It’s flush and shoot. Situational awareness and gun discipline is key as you want to simultaneously track target and avoid people.

In that scene with Bobby walking into the kitchen in that hunting outfit, and Tony laughed at him, well, he laughed because Bobby walked out with a sex toy on the front of his pants as a joke. That's why Tony laughed.
The guy one the boat was Big P*ssy (Jesus UA-cam its the guy's name. 😂😂😂) and he died because he was snitching, the guy Dave was thinking of was Vito but Tony and crew didn't kill him Phil did who was the guy complaining about his neck while Tony was roughing him up for trying to run out on a debt.
Tony Sirico Aka “Paulie Walnuts” was my favorite. Ironically, he was actually “connected” in his past and spent time in the pen... so, you could argue, his “acting” wasn’t really acting.
The movie got bad reviews because it didn’t stick to the source material and totally screwed up the continuity. A good example is portraying Silvio being with Johnny-Boy and Paulie back in the late 60’s, and being older than Tony. We know that in the show, Silvio and Tony grew up together and used to spy on uncle Junior’s card games. Another ridiculous example is showing Silvio balding with a toupee, suggesting that he was wearing a wig in the show…(obviously it’s a wig, because Steven Van Zandt is bald) even while sleeping.😎😐
8:50 nope he is not the gay guy. it was puss. he is about to get killed for being a snitch. great episode that one. the last of the season 2 if i remember correctly.

If they were caught by a mobster flirting with even with their eyes at the gf of a mobster, that person would be six feet under.
