  • As a fairly new resident to London, queuing for tickets to The Wimbledon Championships is something I feel I MUST do (at least once). Join me as we find our way into the queue and make the most of a 4.5 hour wait. It’s day 10 of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, we have high hopes and are about to find out whether or not our efforts have secured us the opportunity to watch Nadal play live.

    You, watching him in Wimbledon, on Centre Court, and vs Taylor Fritz (which was probably the best game of the tournament)…
    So yes, you've absolutely crushed your first Wimbledon queueing experience. I'm well jealous.

    A good insight into a day at Wimbledon Michelle, it was certainly good to see some action from a low level seat instead of the view from a bbc TV camera. Being a night owl I don't want to be going anywhere to queue at 6 in the morning but following a vlogger like yrself gave me a bird's-eye view of Wimbledon and the several hours of queueing that it takes. I do find You guys with Yr channels interesting on Yr travels
    For the insight of what to do and where to go and how to do it. I follow a number of vloggers and find their journeys and journals informative for future reference if I choose to follow the same path. Having watched vids on Scotland and in particular St Andrews which I visited for the first time in October I absolutely adored the place and managed to play the old course which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone. The Place has a real Vibe and I'm determined to go back and do it all again. Even for non golfers it's a great location for a few days away.
    Cheers Michelle, I am a London black cab driver who enjoys Yr vids on our city
    And other destinations. Where you off to next?

    the only time I remember queuing like this is for the 7th book of Harry Potter outside of barnes and noble from 4:30 AM onwards, to pick one copy on the day of its release. me and my dad took blankies and those foldable chairs with coffee and hot chocolate. it was super dark with crickets croaking, and insanely cold.

    You’ve “done” London; You’ve “done” the Jubilee and now you’ve “done” Wimbledon! Wossnextven? FA Cup at Wembley? Test Match at Lords - England v South Africa soon! Oooh one thing you should really go to - the London Marathon! The start at Greenwich and IF you can (in the olden days, you could! The Marathon Roads were only closed temporarily now it seems it’s all day, so driving up there, as we did, as a deffo no go 😥😩) the end bit at the Mall…the atmosphere on the day is just sooo fantastic! Everybody cheering the athletes and those who are running to support their charities, the lunatics in costumes (the runners in rhino suits! Running for the protection of those beautiful creatures) - it is just a “lovely day out” (and once again, you will see the die hard supporters who have camped out the days before, just like the “Royal Watchers” 😉
    - I think this year’s race is in October but it’s usually held in March/April
    So - one important question - are you enjoying being “almost British”? - you’ve got the early morning, getting an early tube train, queuing and getting excited about “things” down to a fine art!
    Oh, and you’ve holidayed in Spain too! ‘Winks 😉’ British!
    Jellied eels and pie n mash next…??

    • @ACanadianAbroadMichelle
      @ACanadianAbroadMichelle  2 роки тому

      I've been seeing a lot of hype around the London Marathon - definitely sounds worth checking out! I couldn't imagine running in a rhino suit for THAT LONG LOL What a question Helen! I wouldn't dare consider myself ''almost British'', however I feel less and less like a newbie with each adventure I take myself on! I'm even learning my way around parts of London that used to make my head spin. Jellied eels... well... I'll try anything at least once haha!

    Hi Michelle, if you're open to suggestions for out-of-the-way places to visit in London, may I suggest the following?
    1. Postman's Park near St Paul's Cathedral. A quiet little public park that contains the Wall of Heroes, a collection of tiles with the names of people who saved a life.
    Quite moving.
    2. Ye Olde Mitre, a pub down a narrow alley in Ely Court, Holborn. Dates from the 1600's.
    3. Crown Passage in St. James's,
    a little village between two blocks of buildings, with shops and a pub, The Red Lion, reputedly used by King Charles 2nd to meet Nell Gwynne.
    Love your videos.

    • @ACanadianAbroadMichelle
      @ACanadianAbroadMichelle  2 роки тому

      Always open to suggestions - thank you! I've added these to my list - I've been wanting to film in some less well-known places around London and these are very intriguing (and I actually know where they are - finally! LOL).
