- Learning how to paint laminate furniture the right way... the first time will save you time and a big fat headache! Painting furniture is all the rage in home decor today but before we tackle those difficult DIY laminate furniture makeovers we must do the prep work to the surface. Hi, Do! I have a bookshelf made from particleboard. I peeled a thin sheet of wood looking paper from the top, however, the rest of the piece looks pretty good. What process would you suggest for refurbishing it? I m not sure of which way to go with it, especially since I peeled the paper off the top. I was thinking of tiling it or placing a mirror on the top. It also has a slightly broken piece that is not entirely broken off and a metal hanger pole on the outer side. Can I fill it and sand it? I hammered it back into place a bit. Thanks so much for any suggestions. My husband was ready to throw it out but I think it's still in pretty good condition.

Wanda Delacruz yes. Any good primer will do it.
Also Stix product does the job. You can get at Amazon or any Lowe’s or home depot store.
This video should be half the length, far too much time talking, stirring paint and watching washing paint brushes out when we just want to know the essential steps
