I love how the cabinets turned out. For a quick fix you can use peel and stick contact paper to cover your counter tops. I did my kitchen and it turned out great.

I was painting an old chair with Pool chalk paint by Waverly. I did not like the rough texture, so I will sand it with 400 or 600 grit and use Valspar's furniture paint.

Perfect timing, Kelly...thank you! I painted all the cabinets in our very-fixer-upper home 24 years ago and they have gotten tired and chipped in places. Time for a refresh but I'm not up for another massive latex paint job.
My goodness, Kelly, what a thorough and timely video ! Our kitchen cabinets have been scarred all along the bottoms due to temporary wheelchair use by a family member. So I am somewhat of a perfectionist about interior of our home and did not know what to do about this problem.

I think I've seen people re-do their countertops, so maybe there's a way, especially in a bathroom which doesn't take as much wear and tear as a kitchen. Worth looking into. Then you have your cabinets you love without the clash of the countertop. And yes, I'd love to see makeovers on thrifted items. Thanks, Kelly, for sharing your talents and ideas with us! Love you! On Lone Fox he refinished a $35 table and sold it for $350. Sold my Father-in-laws kitchen wood table and 6 chairs for $100. One week later she sold it refinished for $650. So good money if you enjoy doing it.

I painted my countertops several years ago & they still look great! I sanded the countertops to roughen them up a little bit, used a good primer, painted them, then used a sealer.

Love the cabinet!! Love that you paint like me. I never remover doors/drawers if I don't have to. Bucket of water and rags are great for cleaning little messes. And yes please do some thrift store projects!!!
I think your cabinets look lovely. If you like them, why not look into changing the countertop with some sort of finish. They make stuff for that.

This was a great diy! I love your enthusiasm and go get em attitude! I wouldn’t have expected that result with white wax either. Have you considered looking at redoing the counter? There are some great products at Lowe’s and Home Depot now that one can fairly easily renovate their countertops with. Just a thought because i know your colors, as you said, would bother me also.

Next time if you use clear wax you can use the clear wax as an eraser for your antique wax, jfyi! They turned out beautifully though just clear wax works awesome, I had to learn that when I did some furniture! I'd love to see some furniture flips!

Kelly, you did a great job on the cabinet! I have loved those drawer handles since I first saw them 20+ years ago at Home Depot. They also had a trim that matched, I wanted to add them to my home cabinets.
Kelly, they are beautiful. Once you put a pretty basket or dresser cloth on the top it will draw the eye to the decor and be just fine.
