I like it a lot better with the light legs. Maybe a different color would have more universal appeal but this could be the dresser of someone's dreams. It's definitely a statement piece.

Honest thoughts: Leave it alone. The color, wood stain, and hardware all work nicely together. Nothing is fighting each other for attention. It may not be your aesthetic choice but it’s someone’s and that person will be thankful you took a risk for them. 🧡

HERE! HERE! I'm the demographics! I looove this color! Despite this burnt orange being a color typical from the 70's, when it goes on furniture and decor, I think it becomes super fun and modern! And the contrasting MCM hardware is the cherry on top. It'd suit my eclectic styled home perfectly ❤ please don't paint it! I understand it's out of your comfort zone but believe when I say it's a beautiful makeover!

I hate it. Which is why its so cool that you can post this video and see how many people DO love it, and we can all agree that we don't have to love everything. The real question is, was it done well (yes), was it a great candidate for paint (absolutely) and did it show people that these "junk dressers" can be turned into something beautiful (definitely). Because style is subjective, but those things are most important. And obviously the right person will find it and love how perfect it is for their space 😊❤

Take a breath, Katie. Great call changing the wood color and leaving off the extra trim. The hardware really compliments the new wood color. The orange is dramatic, but you staged it well, so I'd leave it this color and move on. Not a color I'd buy, but I think there's an audience for this, especially with the finishing touches you chose. Good on you--it's good to experiment and be bold!

You have chosen one of my favorite colors! I love the wood tones and the hardware is great. I can understand that it’s a bit scary since you usually do styling that blends in with a wider range of home decor, but as someone with an eclectic and colorful home, I can say this is a winner. Plus, you’ve given it a second life and saved a perfectly good piece of furniture from being neglected or trashed.

The original hardware is gorgeous. I love the color. Yes, you need the right space to put it in but many people do want a statement piece that's not utterly bland. If it doesn't sell within an alloted period of time you can always refinish it. Personally I love bold colors and the trend lately to paint everything neutral blue, green or beige is unappealing. I would never decorate with neutral blue or green and only rarely with beige. I never understood why we would be surrounded by a world of gorgeous color and then deliberately strip all of it out of our homes. So depressing.

That lovely shade of orange is definitely not a color for my place, but that's the beauty of furniture and individual tastes! You're an artist, and sometimes you're not going to love your own work, but someone else will! It definitely suits the age of the piece and the style, and you're leaning into the era, which is fun!
What's important is that you rescued it from going to the landfill, and someone is going to love it. It may take a little longer to find its forever home, but it's funky and fun and I hope someone "gets" it and loves it for many more years!

Thank you for your honesty and transparency! It's reassuring to see that even someone with your level of experience sometimes struggles to trust the process and second-guesses their choices. So relatable! While I personally wouldn't have chosen the orange, it does suit this piece. Really like the lighter legs and the hardware 😍

The orange is so sixties. I love it! I remember my parents painting furniture that same color!

The dresser is a wonderful example of the 1970's vibe. I had a leisure suit that was that color. 🧔Somebody is going to love it. I think that you did a wonderful job.

It's a great colour. Bold and warm. The natural wood shade your choose is a lovely compliment. Hardware is nifty. Be bold and confident. Someone will go nuts over this piece.

Love the makeover! Fresh, modern but with a teeny touch of retro. Excellent!!!!

I love the burnt orange color!! And the hardware is so unique. This is actually one of my favorite flips you have done.

I think it’s great as is. Very contemporary but still has a warm vibe.

It's a 70s dream. Well done. Your instincts to do away with the drawer trim and lighten up the stain was spot on.

I think it turned out great! It fits the aesthetic of a lot of people. I love the burnt orange color, and have accents of it in my own home, though not at all a MCM vibe here. The lighter wood stain and removing the trim pieces were good calls.

It looks great. You are correct. It is for a certain person and they are out there.

This piece is on point! Thank you for going with your gut and showing us something beyond the boring beiges, whites, and “algonquin washes.” Don’t change a thing, especially that awesome original hardware. 👏🏻 I have some end tables I’ve been staring at deciding how to refinish them. You’ve inspired me to go with a bold color and not succumb to the safety of neutral.

The burnt orange is a very strong choice. The finish is great, and I'm really glad that you lightened up the leg stain color! I think that a less fussy hardware might be the key. The knobs look good, but the pulls are too ornate for this esthetic. Wood pulls might also be an option (I'm remembering a hardware style that combined oak and brass).

You made the right decision by lightning up the bottom and legs. Great work on this piece.

I am never inclined to like bold, bright colors on dressers, but I really love the orange you chose. I think it works and really looks good with the hardware. I'm not a fan of the wood stain legs and trim. I think it would have been more cohesive if everything was orange because the orange is bold enough to hold all the attention without adding a secondary design element/color. At any rate, I'm sure someone will love the uniqueness, and I love how transparent and real you are with your process. Your channel is one of my favorite restoration channels, and every video is a treat to watch. ❤
