Just realised at around 51:20 I called Saffi "Seska". I had put in a bit of text to acknowledge the mistake but somehow I missed that it wasn't there in the final edit 😅 Anyway. Seska and Saffi are both played by the same actress, Martha Hackett a Trek veteran.
On the chasing Founder thing you mentioned at 8:05 that was one of the few DS9 plot points with pretty big holes in it. Since a nova only travels at lightspeed, it gives the fleets at DS9 several minutes to escape, and what on earth gave the Founders confidence the wormhole would survive a supernova? :D On the game, you got detected because of heading to the nav point at the “mini-warp” speed. I hard lesson I also learned originally playing! Also, I know you’ll get to it eventually. I’ve tried out the Bridge Commander remastered mod, and oh my what a difference! Apart from balance issues, it’s virtually all for the better, and I think you’ll be very pleased when you give it a spin in a Galaxy glass.
4:07 Is this when you can get the USS Geronimo's quantum torpedoes? 8:25 They're inconsistent with that, however I would not like an area with heavy traffic to have spacecraft warping about the place. "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" established that docking procedures seem to be handled by spacedock. I reckon that it has got something to do with that. 36:16 What was the new information?
*Looks back from drinking coffee* "I wonder how the battle's going?" _Ship is engulfed in flame while three lines of phasers batter it_ "Seems to be going well."
A more detailed hint for combat as well 1) Kill galors first, keldons second (galors have similar firepower and less survivability or mobility), Kessok take priority later. 2) Hit cardassians from behind or below (always try to stay close and hug them). You can't hit the torpedo from above, so only aim there from below; above you can hit the engines, warp core, or shields (latter are center mass), warp core is also hit from below. Avoid the front and side shields. 3) Try to roll your shields to grt hit in the sides where possivle rather than the top/bottom, too much of the ship is on those two shields. Top is better than bottom since it covers your forward torpedoes. Also, when saving shield power I'd drop to 5% shields rather than 0 since they still stay online but barely draw power. Later this matters more when you take fire as soon as you jump into certain systems. Otherwise, appreciate the nostalgia despite the game's rough edges.
Use Q and E to rotate your ship. Youre missing phaser chances by not rotating correctly. And hit the Galores first and from below. Just stick behind them. Sometimes you bring yourself in a bad position because you really want to fire your aft torpedoes. But its better to just stick behind them and keep de phasers going on their bottom.
A helpful bit of advise for more stations: they can't shoot if you hit the sensor array. Your crew also had ideas on how to cripple the station if you ask, with your science officer suggesting the sensors and the chief engineer suggesting the reactor (minimal power). Normally they either have nothing to say or just flavor comments, but occasionally they have real ideas that are helpful.
Thanks, I'll start trying to ask the crew for advice more to see what they say. I guess its not something I had to do much in SFA or KA as those were automatic interactions.
I mean Klingon Academy had long missions, but they were a lot more interesting - I think in part a lot of the problem is that you are playing the Federation - and you are always meant to be the "good" guys... As this series almost completely ignores DS9 due to copyright issues haha
@@dynamicduke8119 for this playthrough, none. I wish to play and judge the game as it was originally presented. Once I finish the campaign, I will put a spotlight on the mods and play some of them.

You have to admire the Federation's commitment to peaceful exploration by making it so the Sovereign can only fire one phaser at a time

Fingers crossed that the gameplay isn't too badly marred by bad design. Let's watch!

Which bridge commander mods are you using?
