Wow this did come out of nowhere! What a great find :) I like the way they kept the original mechanics of the base game and the ships included seem a great selection!
As a small-time UA-camr, and fellow Star Trek fan/gamer, I'm gonna hafta check this out! I kick it with the modders here and there and this is like the Scimitar decloaking in orbit of (what used to be) Romulus!! Gonna snag this and try it out! Thank you for letting us know that it's out and ready to play! 😁 Be safe and healthy! LLAP 🖖 😎
@@LTGamingUA-cam Ayo! 😁 What's good wit'cha?! I am planning to make a video of the new "Legacy" mod! WooHoo! Would you mind if I mentioned you in the video/link to your channel? (I think it's only right, since you pointed me to it! 😁) As a way of saying "Thank you!!" ☺
@@LTGamingUA-cam You know me, bruv! 😂 I keep it breezy with a hint of professional (read: Ghetto/Hood) humor! Lol! But I do thank you for the opportunity and for the video that sold me on the new mod! 😁 Keep up the awesome work on your channel! Be safe and healthy! LLAP 🖖 😎
Awesome to see this! Always wanted a mod like this! Was never a fan of the other ones, always felt too OP and not very challenging just phaser and torpedo spam!
I really don't like how torpedoes work in Remastered so I'm going to give this mod a try. At the end of the day, I'd really love just a slight balance tweak, plus HD models, plus Numbers on shields and weapons. I really just want a sequel.
Hey there! I am the modder! I’m so stoked at the attention here! This mod gives you numbers for shields and weapons for ALL ships in quick battle mode! Shield strength and recharge rates are verbatim from the script files. Beam power is also taken from the script files. Beam weapons in the stock game do their max damage at a limited distance, and those distances are given in the quick battle descriptions along with their damage rating. I’ll make a reply to Lt. Dan talking about more of the goals I set out to hit in this mod.
I have to applaud the effort going into this, but to be fair, these are mostly better ship models with higher resolution textures. Its a good addition, and some of the interiors would have benefitted too, but the lighting on the bridge interiors for example is the same... the character models are same low poly ones, etc. You can really see the age of the engine and limitations of the lighting inherent to the engine itself.
I wish someone would do a tutorial video on how to install mods for this game. It’s frustrating to see all these new mods and not ONE current video that even shows how to install Kobyashi Maru. Also frustrating: “I’m just playing this on my steam deck” with ZERO explanation when it isn’t even available on Steam.
@@LTGamingUA-cam I’m sorry man. I didn’t mean to make MY issue yours. I’m older and not very good at installations without visual aids. I just want to play this game again with these updates. Every time I think I find a video to help, it’s either obsolete - or it’s already installed with skipped steps assuming the viewer knows what they’re doing. It would be amazing to see a tutorial video of a completely fresh install. Does anyone have a link?
A lot is different in VonFrank’s version. I played the original game when it came out. I owned the hard copy CD that it came on. Von Frank’s version completely changes how torpedoes and beam weapons work. Everything I learned playing the original game no longer applied in BC Remastered. I always wanted just a graphical update to the original game, with a few tweaks here and there. That’s how this mod came about.
Great mod, lags so badly, just like the Kobayashi Maru mod does though, still can't figure it out. Don't have the issue with remastered and the original game 😢
i also randomly found this mod while searching for new ships, so does anyone testet what ships work on this mod? is it the "vanilla" koboyashi or Remaster ships?

It was a good find! Be interested to find out more of where it could go.
If they ever find a way to overcome the memory cap issue and memory leak issue, this engine will be timeless lol.
If they haven't by now then it's simply not possible.

Yeah ideally it would be great. We need to get a team together and pitch to Paramount 😂 but yeah I enjoyed the way this one is balanced.

Yeah the Modders are working within the limitations of the engine. But still a very fun Star Trek experience overall 🚀
Really cool looking mod!! Thanks for showing it off to us 😊
Appreciate the support and most welcome!

The mod installation is all explained in detail at the various modding sites. We don't make mod tutorials. The Steam Deck was someone else helping me.

@@KirksMerkin no worries just not my specialist area 😀
whats the reason to use this in singleplayer campaign instead of vonfranks remastered mod?
Because it retains the mechanics and feel of the original game.

@@Optimusx1 lags in single player, regardless of ship choice or battle.
Here is a potential solution that works for someone else. Search for thr NTCore 4GB patch. This patch is also recommended for remastered.
