Put sensors on low energy. Youll stay close enough anyway so low power is enough. Fly behind the enemy. Really behind. Like they have you on a leash. Not half next to it. Always stay in their blind spot like a submarine stays behind the ship its tracking (stays in noise of screw). If the ship turns right you still go forward a little to stay right behind them. And you turn right aswell when you are guaranteed behind them. Use tractor beam. Target engines to make following them easyer. Never stand still. They will turn their strongest side towards you and fire everything.
It's funny; I just rewatched your Klingon Academy videos and despite its flaws, it appears to be a vastly superior game in almost every respect to this. The story, the gameplay (albeit more akin to a fighter sim than starship, but whatever), and how it feels like care was put into making it feel part of the greater Trek lore. What you said last video about Matan and how it should've been him trying to take over the Cardassian Union would've been far more interesting and plausible
Klingon Academy's story legitimately made me tear up in places, it was that gripping. BC's story was just kind of wallpaper in between shooting missions and no matter how hard I try, I just can't care about any of these characters or the overall crisis the way I cared about Chang, Torlek, Melkor, et al
@@redpyre This ☝ Just to expand on that, when Chang agrees to stop his attack on a Federation Starbase to race back to Qo'Nos, his reaction is kinda heartbreaking.
Like with a lot of older games we played a long time ago, they looked breathtaking at the time. Now seeing them today the reaction is more like: "Wow, how did I burn so many hours playing a game that looked so bad?" :D
That big fight kinda had a Sacrifice Of Angels vibe, particularly since the ships with weapons that are effective at hundreds of thousands of kilometres range ended up in melee range. I do see what you mean about the lack of variety, makes you long for the days of Starfleet Command III where different ships actuallly played differently.
"Pathetic, just pathetic." Thank you Mr Cowell. :D That was a pretty comprehensive run through of the vanilla skirmish mode. Not something I really touched back in the day playing it, campaign was plenty for me, and I had no interest in multiplayer. I did make a short video with a tweak to the remastered mod, subbing the default Sovereign for the Archangel re-fit, which is both nicer looking and stupidly OP! :D ua-cam.com/video/sqVqzFI8bhU/v-deo.html
Probably the dumbest thing you can do in quick battles: Warbirds can stay cloaked and ram (if you can catch up), due to their great hp and power generation. Vorcha is easier due to its speed, but losing your sensor array on impact makes it somewhat inadvisable.
Angel you ever get your hands on a functional copy of Star Trek Dominion Wars? When the game would work, it was rather fun. Had a group of up to 5 ships under your control, and the two main stories you play as the Federation with their Allies, and the Dominion and their allies.
@ange1uk i liked it more than Bridge commander because you could employ different strategies such as beaming troops to take over an enemy ship to increase your own fleet size, beaming over bombs and retreating via warp. It was also much faster paced. Biggest problem was how buggy the game was. When it worked it was amazing.

Noted, thanks :)

I generally agree that KA is a superior game but will probably compare them in detail when I eventually get to my review.
@@ange1uk Looking forward to it!

Woah, this game looked a lot better in my memory.

This game needs a remake

@@vmorales225 nope, I've never played that game either. I'm sure a copy can be... acquired somehow ;)
