New Mexico checking in this afternoon.. I agree with you. Good video, delete and ban all the negative people. If one cannot be civil, we’ll then, delete. Thanks for your making nice material.
Talk about a bespoke car cover. I agree, I could watch that all day long. It’d also be interesting to see the complete process. Maybe they could film some of it so you could do a video of the complete process.
What an amazing experience watching a tailor making a custom made suit for a beautiful Porsche! I do love the words that you use in England 🏴, the place where our language spoken in the USA came from. I prefer bespoke over custom made, but no one would know what I’m talking about. I love that you collect your car, instead of just picking it up.
9:39 😮 the reflection of the red fabric draped over the other car off the black paint of yours looks tight❗️that would make for an a amazing paint job‼️ 🤩
After seeing your previous vid, I’ve purchased a CTEK indicator for my 987. Surprised anyone would question you on anything tech orientated 😂 the cover is epic....Christ, you’ve even got an epic coffee machine😂 you do realise you’re never going to need to buy another car, these two are perfect!
I believe that jumper cable’s instructions always have you connect both positives first, then the good negative battery terminal and lastly the final negative connection to the chassis, because the sparks that happen can ignite the flammable gasses that lead acid batteries create. Many cars have a plastic vent tube connected to their lead acid battery to vent them, it is not an overflow for battery acid. I am sorry that someone had to be nasty with their comments and not simply explain things like I just did.
Wow, that's so impressive. I would never have guessed it to be so involved. Nice of them to let you film it for us. What is training for getting a job there..........Bond Street handmade tailored suit marking experience required???? lol
Every self respecting Porsche owner puts it on a trickle charge when the car is vacationing in it's garage for a while. Don't listen to those jealous know nothings.
Loved the video, loved the peanut gallery, and the tailor made car cover. Like I've said previously, always interesting and I always seem to learn something new. Thank you. I hope you get a discount for providing them with a template, for there future sales, for that model car.
I'm not saying your the smartest man in the world but haven't these people figured out your a engineer on a motor yachts worth hundreds of millions of pounds and as us Bostonians would say your wicked smahhttt..
The fitting triggered my ASMR. Put ASMR in the description and I bet your view count goes up 10 fold. lol You make the most mundane things interesting (I mean that as a compliment). I watched your road trip back video the other day in the background during a stressful work day (work from home still) and I found it very comforting and relaxing. It was like I was on a road trip with an old friend and just shooting the breeze. I am starting to like this channel more than the other one. Hard work making all these videos I don't know how you balance it all but thanks for doing it.
I don't think that the word, "bespoke" is commonly used in the US. I had to look it up. So not only did I enjoy another very intertesting video but I learned something, as well. Cheers!
Very cool how they do that. Can't wait to see finished cover and updates on car. Ignore the haters they are people who sit around looking for something to bitch about and be Keyboard warriors. Keep up the great videos very entertaining.
What a process. I’m glad you didn’t show them taking the inside leg. Does Sir Sir on the left or right side. I’m a big fan of Citek and have it fitted to all my cars. I find the Blue tooth app great for checking the battery status and not having to remove the car cover.
It's interesting to watch any craftsman (or women) working. With this attention to detail for a car cover, I'd almost expect their own cars to be pristinely cared for. But I suppose if you drove up and saw some rusty beaters in the parking lot, it wouldn't be a good look for the company
I like your 911 better than the spyder. It looks cooler, less interior noise, and better seat adjustments to fit the driver... but I'm talking out of school because I haven't driven either ;) EDIT: I just researched both cars... no wonder I liked the GT2RS better! At least price-wise, comparing a $100k spyder to a $400k GT2RS... both are beautiful, but I'm not such a car expert to appreciate the difference.
Very interesting video. I would have thought they could use some computer software/simulation to create the car cover instead of needing a physical car, but you live and learn! I love both porches as they have such different purposes. Just wanted to ask, as you are getting a car cover for the spyder, what is your daily driver??
Ctek charger manual says how to connect the charger if you have a positively earthed battery (you shouldn't rely on eyelets connector manual for that information). Which is what you have according to car manual that explains how to connect jump start cables. Easiest thing would to call Porsche and ask them...
I’m surprised they use the old fashioned way for measuring the car in these modern times where they could have a laser scanner scan the whole car and convert it to plans for the material in a few minutes. But it was nice watching it being done.
I think all your stuff is very interesting and enjoyable to watch. As a mechanic and a pilot I find you to be very credible in your approaches to things. You followed directions as written correctly. Why the thin skin from the guff from this person? You must expect some jealous comments from the unwashed. :-)
I think I would be having a nervous breakdown every time a stranger with a wrist full of super sharp pieces of steel was putting one into some material on my brand new, gorgeous and expensive car. :) Did you resist the temptation to go over it afterwards to check for any scratches. :)
That certainly isn't a car cover from Costco or Canadian Tire. Sorry your Canadian followers will know the second store I mentioned. Beautiful car and you are right to protect it!
@@eSysmanTech they are still big supporters of minor hockey in Canada. They are big pushers of no child should be refused because their parents cant afford the fees. Where abouts in Canada were you?
0:35. These are the same type of people whom down the pub to impress ‘girls’ brag about driving a Mercedes, only it’s actually a works vehicle and is a beaten up Mercedes Vito van 🚐 🤦🏻♂️🤣
With respect to the peanut gallery… I read that it is important to hire teenagers while they still know everything. My guess is that the commenter while they read al lot about Porsche‘s , they actually never owned one….thus comments from the self appointed teenager are rightfully ignored no need to justify your actions….just remove the comments!
Don’t worry about dick heads giving negative feedback mate. They’re just jealous you’re living the life they can only dream of. That was interesting watching the cover being made not how I thought it would be done. They should give you a cover for the advertisement and providing them with a template. Stay safe mate greetings from Australia 🇦🇺👍
What a shame these fools felt the need to try and burn you. From your previous video with the poor bloke who was electrocuted you demonstrated your knowledge of electrical systems is far beyond the layman. F@@k the Haters.
Florida has afternoon thunderstorms so be prepared to put the roof back quick :-) I just watched a space capsule get moved to the launchpad in the middle of the night because that is when there is the least likelihood of any weather.
my god!! sounds like you've been attacked by "sorry ahead of time" a bunch of tools themselves... these charges are trickle charges, that do connect to the battery directly "as you've done so & pointed out here!" & like you've pointed when jump starting your supposed to connect positive to battery positive & negative to a chassis or another good grounding point "I'm guessing whoever written the comments aren't actually drivers, probably don't own a car, bike or even driving license application form" anyway, my only negative view point is why didn't you opt for the bolt/nut directly on the top of the power/ground points ie see 00:25 (in this upload) rather then opting to use a bolt/nut locked off?? "just my view point" as it'd make the installation much much easier. ps I've a driving license, car, insurance, taxed etc.. unfortunately I own a mini :( "but its a S.. so tubby fun"
Don't mind the idiots. Unfortunately, when it comes to car guys, computer guys or any other technical guys there's some within these groups who build their whole existence and persona around these things and get really rude and arrogant if someone does anything that's not like "they would have done it or think it should be done". Working in a highly technical field myself I bump into these morons all the time. What's sad is that the majority of the most rude and arrogant once know the least. If you want to see this in action on a 24/7 basis, go to any general non professional linux forum online and it'll be filled to the brim with them.
I know you love your new Porsche 718 spyder but so far you mentioned quite a bit about the things you don’t like. Examples, inside noise, uncomfortable seats, lack of acceptable exhaust noise, the paint isn’t perfect so you sent it to London to a Detailer for buffing, etc. With all the mods you’re having done or already completed on your other Porsche & the price you paid for the new one it seems to me German engineering doesn’t quite live up to all the hype. Just saying that this is an ongoing very expensive toy from my point of view.
I’ve also said plenty about things I love. Also any new car including Ferrari, Lamborghini etc would need the same detail if you want perfect paint before wrapping it. If I didn’t love these cars I’d buy something else.
I am a lay person about cars, but why are you charging a car battery? Is this an electric car? I don't think that is how you charge an electric car? its a brand new battery right? Should everyone charge their batteries? I never did.
If you leave the car for long periods you should use a trickle charger. As I work at sea they both get left for months at a time. Cars have lots of electronics now and will drain a battery in a few weeks.
From your channel names a person with a modicum of intelligence could probably figure out your job on a yacht and then also figure out that maybe, just maybe you might know a thing or two about these things. LOL
WELL SAID REGARDING THE BATTERY
It's like he's building a tailored suit, so cool.

Did you get the car cover in the end?
If so can’t see a video for it.
You so need an old school Jaeger turbo gauge on that coffee machine.
UA-cam 101. Never address the peanut gallery.

Gen 1

I had suits made by a top notch Beverly Hills tailor that wasn't as fussy about fit as this crew is.
