This is perfect, mine looks exactly the same in stem and I've decided it needs a repot after the newest leaf has hardened. You talking through your decisions is very helpful 😂❤
☺Just finished a plant care day and I'm happy to see that you have a pretty similar approach with your plants: cleaning the mess right away, freaking out about leaves "in the way", overthinking about the planters, worrying about the cat getting lost outdoor (don't get me started with hating to take the thunmbanail for YT!). I felt seen and less of a weirdo :) Thank you Jan and congrats for the year anniversary 🤩Have fun with the new gears 🎉

Happy anniversary 🎉 What you said about content creation is so what I think! I prefer watching smaller creators in general because they focus on their content and they're more real! I used to watch some big UA-cam names, I still watch some, but some of them feel like they're never wrong and don't really care about their average followers anymore...
So I was sitting here wondering who the bloody heck is gimbal???? 😅😅😅 Worked out it was some technical camera thang. Anyhoo, love your work. And what a gorgeous Thai!
Happy Thursday, Jan! I have 2 Thai Constellations, one is a rooted plug "starter" and one is about the size of the second smallest leaves on your plant. The baby is growing fast, but the larger plant is not doing anything in the 6 months I've had it. I'm glad to hear that this is to be expected. Congratulations on your 1 year UA-cam Aniversarry! I love all the content you post, and I always enjoy waking up to new videos 😊
You're so cute, Jan 😹. Can assure you, no wrinkles visible 😊 This was super helpful. Actually came looking for a demo on adding a pole to my Thai, who is also currently crawling, and I was like 'eek, how is this going to work?'. Have decided to just move her forward in the pot and she can continue to crawl (heaps of space to do that). I'll detach her little secondary growth point at the front while I'm at it, and pop that one on a pole. Headbutts to Bradley 😊
Kudos to you on a beautiful repot. I sure wouldn’t want to show everyone my mess while repotting 😂😂😂😂😂 I love your Thai. Mine just got her first leaf in my care, she’s a baby so no splits yet. I did put her on a pole. I hope to get very large leaves… we shall see. 🪴
Congratulations Jan,and Brad of cause! 😊 I still remember that first video,it was so exciting! My Thai was crawling as well, than I put it into a long big pot,6 months later chopped it up and every node had a really good root system,as all the roots went into the pot! The camera is fantastic! Thank you for your hard work in creating good content! 🪴💖👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Natalie

All of your plants are the dreamiest!! My cuprea looks absolutely pitiful compared to yours. 😂 Here in the states, we’re having problems with root rot and stem rot on the Thai constellations, and with them being 50-200 a piece, it’s too big of a risk for me just yet. When I do get one, I’m going to follow your tips step by step. Another great video, Jan.
I love watching your videos in the morning before I start work. I really enjoy watching the footage of the plant shows. Im from the US and would love to see you tour botanical gardens near you. Congratulations on your one year anniversary 🎉!
🎉happy anniversary. I have a Thai Con that just won’t let up with the root rot. I’m guessing it’s the soil mixture that is not chunky. 😢she will pull through , currently have her in water with some lava rocks. Thanks for the great content
Loved this video, very refreshing to see an unedited version. We're also very well acquainted with your bum, it got almost as much airtime as the Monsterra! lol 🤭
Grab some white paint from the craft section of any cheap store (I donno what stores are in Australia) and just paint the black edge of the pot, that way you can still easily grab the plant to empty any standing water from the bottom and you will have a bit of a match! I think that plant's next cover pot may be moving into a basket! Now that I have a few larger plants I realize that unless I want to spend 100 or so dollars on a decorative pot that I may just need to use the woven baskets with a saucer in them. I understand why that look became a thing over the last few years now as it's an inexpensive way to hide the ugly! LOL
Hey Jan huge congratulations on your year anniversary 🎉 you truly deserve every success 🎉 and the handsome Bradley too😍 Your MTC is gorgeous 😍 MTC is one of my all time favourites (along with PPP🙈 and P Strawberry Shake) and I finally bought one earlier this year (a baby one). It slowly lost 2 leaves, leaving 2 juvenile leaves behind - which scared me. Because of this plant I've become a chronic underwaterer🙈. It hasn't done anything further since, except that I've noticed the tip of an aerial root beginning to poke out of the surface at the side wall of the 3 inch pot. Apart from that, nothing. But I'm leaving it until it's bursting out of it's pot and will repot into a nice super chunky aroid mix like yours. Did you ever suffer any rotting with your MTC? Lucky you if you didn't, but if you did, what would you do to restore health to your plant?
I remember the first time I seen you on Instagram and you didn’t even have a UA-cam - here from the beginning and I’m so proud of you man! I know I don’t comment that much but I hope your remember my name lol! 🎉🎉❤❤❤
Quick question since you're letting your Thai constellation be a crawler instead of a climber have you thought about using a tote planted it in since it's more square-based and gives it more area to crawl and they also come in clear which you like a lot... food for thought ... Thai constellation definitely big & beautiful...mine is just a little one with 5 small leaves so far and I can't wait for the leaves to give large like yours with awesome fenestration
Given the size of the root system, a horizontal pole wouldn't have enough room for all those roots. But when I propagate it with the next repot I'll probably give it a long rectangular pot :)
Have you ever thought about getting a philodendron verrucosum “Amazon sunset”? I just found out about them lol, I thought that you’d probably like them as well 😂☺️
Yay! Jan so happy for you that you splurged. The camera quality looks amazing! I never noticed any deficit before with your iPhone BUT I can definitely see the upgrade now. Congrats on all your accomplishments so far! I did have a question: I really like your white light you have on the wall/ceiling next to the mirror. Can you share the details for this light? Brand, bulb, etc? I might want to buy one hehe. My plant room is unfortunately in a north room (USA) and the window is under a covered porch so I need lots of plant lights
Thank you :) I'm actually about to make a video on those lights as I have been testing them over the next few months & there will be a discount code too, so stay tuned :)
the roots are woooow 🤩🤩 I want this aroid mix for my monstera too. What kind of fertilizer you are using? And what are the problems you encounter with your aroid mixture, like pests etc? 😊
Hi, I recently discovered your channel and you really make amazing content. I just became the proud owner of a Thai Constellation that has 9 leaves (the largest are about 30 cm in diameter and have secondary fenestrarion). I was considering to repot it in a couple of weeks with a moss pole, because next year I would like to propagate it and if there are roots formed in the moss pole, I think propagation will be more succesful. Do you think this would work for a Thai Constellation? It was grown in a rather small pot, and the nodes are already quite far from what I can achieve with repotting it. I would need to put it ina way too large pot if I want the new node roots to go into soil. This is why I'd consider a moss pole instead.
Thanks... having a personality for making content... 😌 that just killed it for me😂. Think my Thai is also due for a repot. Thanks for the tip.. my mix is way to compact at the moment.
@Sydneyplantguy thanks for all the informative videos. I absolutely love to watch them all. Can you try to propagating Monstera Thai constalation? I got a tissue cultured baby Monstera Thai constalation, can we give moss pole to her claim?
Propagation for Thais would be the same as all my other propagations, just has much smaller internodal spacing :) and yes, you can give her a moss pole if you like :)
What will eventually happen with the monstera if it’s not on a moss pole? Will it start to get too heavy and droop, will it mostly stay that size, or will it eventually need to be on a pole? Love your channel and content!

Have you ever thought about getting a philodendron verrucosum “Amazon sunset”? I just found out about them lol, I thought that you’d probably like them as well 😂☺️
Yes it's on my wishlist but to my knowledge it's not available in Australia so that will probably never happen :D
Happy 1 year. That is such a beautiful plant. 😊😊😊
Thank you :)
@@sydneyplantguy Yay! That’s fantastic. Can’t wait to learn all about it! Give Braddles an extra head scratch from me ❤️
the roots are woooow 🤩🤩
I want this aroid mix for my monstera too. What kind of fertilizer you are using? And what are the problems you encounter with your aroid mixture, like pests etc? 😊
Happy anniversary 🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤I always be here love you take care 😘😘😘sending kisses 💋 😘❤️🇵🇭 happy planting 🪴🌼
Thank you :)
Phew I am exhausted watching that repotting. 😂😂
Great plants! 🌱
This video is very crisp
You're adorable. Great video. Thank you!
Thank you :)
Probably a really short fern slab will be nice just so that it will go upwards and give it a little height
Nice pants :P
and plants :D
Thank you:)
Nice Yankees hat! Going to a Yankees game this Sunday 🙂 love your content!
Thank you :) enjoy the game ⚾️🏟️
@Sydneyplantguy thanks for all the informative videos. I absolutely love to watch them all. Can you try to propagating Monstera Thai constalation? I got a tissue cultured baby Monstera Thai constalation, can we give moss pole to her claim?
Propagation for Thais would be the same as all my other propagations, just has much smaller internodal spacing :) and yes, you can give her a moss pole if you like :)
Now this I can relate to lol 😅 Thanks and congrats
Thank you for this vidéo 🌿💚🇫🇷🙏
What will eventually happen with the monstera if it’s not on a moss pole? Will it start to get too heavy and droop, will it mostly stay that size, or will it eventually need to be on a pole? Love your channel and content!
They can ‘crawl’ as well :)
Thank you:)
Can you make a video about how you care for that Alocasia Cuprea? How you make your growing medium for it and stuff like that.
,looks good 👍🏽💚🌿💚😻
Thanks :)
