00:30 Turkey Fricassee Recipe
Dressing Layer
2 (6 ounce) boxes Turkey Stuffing Mix (we used Stove Top)
1/2 teaspoon sage
1 cup diced celery
1 onion diced
2 small Gala apples (diced)
8 ounces sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup butter
21 ounces (1 1/2 cans) chicken broth
In a large bowl combine stuffing mix, sage, celery, onions, and apples.
In a saucepan add mushrooms, butter, and chicken broth. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted. The mushrooms will continue to cook during the baking time. Add this mixture to the stuffing mixture in the big bowl and mix together thoroughly. Set Aside.
Casserole Ingredients
3 cups leftover turkey or chicken (diced)
2 (10.5 ounce) cans of Cream of Mushroom soup
1 1/4 cups leftover gravy (could also use chicken broth but gravy adds best flavor)
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 9 x 13 inch pan. Press 2/3 of the dressing into the bottom of the pan. Then cover with diced turkey. Then cover the turkey with remaining 1/3 of the dressing.
In a saucepan mix together soup, gravy, and milk. Bring to a boil and stir until smooth. Pour this mixture over dressing and sprinkle lightly with paprika (optional).
Bake for 90 minutes, or until the surface is brown and bubbly. We like to bake covered and then remove the aluminum foil the last 30 minutes of cook time.

What I've found that people get tired of is the same flavor profiles after a couple of days. SO... if you can switch up to totally different flavors, it's more enjoyable. I'm thinking chicken (or turkey) tortilla soup, or an Italian ragu using some of the leftover veggies, vanilla ice cream topped with cranberry sauce (it works, just ask Mythical Morning), fried stuffing patties with hot sauce, etc. And THEN, if you still have room, make up a casserole and stick it in the freezer for a month or two. Everyone will be happy to see the Thanksgiving fixings again in February on a cold day! :)
Our favorite is left over turkey, mix with mashed potatoes, dressing, peas in a casserole then mix in gravy and bake until heated through and browned on top. Yum
That is so good!! Love that!
You two made me so hungry, I can not wait for American Thanksgiving....our second cause we are Canadian spending the winter in AZ....so excited to try all three of these and hoping to find a printable attached!!! Thanks for sharing!
You are most welcome!!
The best part of thanksgiving leftovers is the turkey pot pie a few days later!
I totally agree!
We make Skillet slop lol with leftover turkey dinner. We put a little butter in a cast iron frying pan and then we add in any left over veggies, potato, stuffing, bit size pieces of turkey and finally left over gravey mix it all together. It's a turkey bowl dinner lol

At 10:03 you say to add three cups of stuffing but it looks like you are adding the turkey.
Good morning Six Sisters. That looks delicious. Thanks for sharing your recommendations for making Thanksgiving leftovers better than the original. For my Thanksgiving dinner, I'm planning to make some oyster stuffing, with fresh oysters from the Chesapeake Bay - a local favorite here in Maryland. . For leftovers, we'll be having a classic leftover Thanksgiving sandwich - Roast turkey and cranberry sauce. The perfect Thanksgiving leftover for watching the game. That being said, Happy Thanksgiving to y'all. 😉😉
My husband's family always made oyster dressing. The first year I ate with them, I found a tiny pearl in my dressing!
@@rhondamcmahan7829 Wow. Actually, I once found a pearl in an oyster while dining at a seafood restaurant.
Sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!
@@SixSistersStuff Thanks.
Hmmm…maybe I should just cut to the chase and make the second one for dinner! Some green beans and cranberry sauce and done! 😀
Seriously, though, all three looked great!
Merci de OK 👍🌹
Our official Friday meal is called “leftovers reinvented”
Awesome...lol now any suggestions for all that ham too
Fried rice, baby Lima bean soup with ham, omelettes, etc.
How do I cook 2lb of spaghetti in my instant pot. How many minutes. Thanks you happy Thanksgiving.
Can any of these be frozen and still be great?
When you add Stove Top dressing, do you also add the seasoning that goes with it? I couldn’t tell if you added it.
I’ve noticed the seasoning is no longer a separate packet like it used to be.
We aren't having a traditional Thanksgiving it isn't my favorite holiday we are having ham and of course pie cherry and apple happy Thanksgiving to you and your family lots of love from New Jersey 💕😇💐
Happy holidays! Sounds great to me!!
They all looked great but you should have named it all about stuffing! thank you for sharing
You are most welcome!!
😁
Have y'all ever spat cocked a turkey. It sounds very interesting. You should check it out you basically cut out the backbone so it lays flat and cooks faster
We will have to give it a try!
One year, as I cleared the table, I layered , first stuffing, turkey, peas, pearl onions, squash gravy and mashed potato on top. Covered with foil and stored in the fridge for the next day. I would now assemble multiple tiny casserole dishes to store for individual servings. Or maybe even in custard cups or muffin tins with egg to make a breakfast egg bite. ?
Good stuff! That sounds great!
Lol, by the time we eat everything for a couple of days and make soup, sandwiches, and pot pie, there are no leftovers.
