- San Martin has become the darling of affordable watches. This retro dive watch, a Tutor Black Bay 58 Homage, may be one of the best budget dive watches for small wrists under $250 from Ali Express. Is it close to the low-tier Swiss Made watches in fit and finish, or is it simply the best budget watch with some flaws?

To be honest, flaws can be overlooked at this price point. Really an amazing option to get a feel of the Tudor classic. Thumbs up! 😊

Ive the BB58 SNOO8G variant & its my fav automatic homage ...its just so well built...fit n finish is spot on...The Lume is insanely good too..Highly recommend anyone to get one if you are thinking of it.. the 008 or smaller 004 ...Trusty NH35 movement in mine too..Great review...
NH35 movements cost about $30, and these are found in almost every AliExpress watch, even ultra-budget offerings under $100. Same goes for sapphire, good lume, decent bracelet,etc., which are all highly commoditized now. What you are paying for here is stepped-up fit and finishing that pushes it from the ultra-budget category to the budget category. If you still like the watch after 10 years when the movement gives out or no longer keeps good time, just about anyone can replace it DIY-style with a few inexpensive tools.

It's more than a $200 watch. SM could increase the price and they'd still sell. I have one in blue, and love it. Flawless. No QC issues. I upgraded the clasp the the easy adjust variant, and if you plan on keeping this, I recommend it. I'm sure SM or Watch Dives would send you another endlink for free. Good review. Subbed.

Well done buddy. This was a great review. The close ups were really good and i think you mentioned everything besides one issue. I find most SMs have sharp edges. Some more than others, its not awful but not great either.
SM have so many subs and bbs homages its hard to keep up. Tbh their greatest watch, imo, is the new gmt. I love the design and it very well made unfortunately im not looking for gmts.
I wish they will keep the original designs bc they had some misses in the past but the latest designer/design done a great job.
I still cant get passed the nh35/38.
Btw if anyone asks for a good quality homge i recommend SM bc others might be lacking in finish or specs. But i own seestern and sugess and i couldnt be happier..
Hello sivanstar. I saw the SM you’re referring to on Jody’s channel. It looks great and I would love to get it in for review someday. Lately the Chinese micro brands I’ve been looking at, haven’t had the sharp edges they did a year ago. I’m not sure if I’ve been getting lucky out if they have improved they quality overall. They now make this in a GMT configuration, with dual bezels. One is fixed 24h, and around it, a rotating ceramic insert with either 60min timing, third time zone, or cities.

I received this watch yesterday , I ordered it taking a chance against my better judgement after listening to all these utube videos just like yours. I completely believe now you all are getting paid something to put these out there. The watch isn’t close to being a a decent watch or in any way comparable to the original. Every edge on this watch is sharp. The case , the bracelet , are terrible , I actually was worried about getting cut . The engraving on the bezel is terrible, the bezel does not align. This watch is exactly what I thought it would be before I got caught up in all these videos, a cheap Chinese copy and not a good one.
