Funfact about the Pitt Raiders: A lot of their names are subtle references to local sites in Pittsburgh. For example, Essie's Original Hotdog Shop in Oakland is referred to locally as "The O" and so they sell "O-Dogs."
The O, better known as the Dirty O. Man there's no way in hell I'd eat there unless I was blasted drunk, but considering how close that place is to a bunch of bars, it's not a stretch
I turned on Werner because he never said anything about having to kidnap children. That for my merc character broke contract. That is how I justified my actions in the Pit.
Yes because we all know raider are known to leave survivors . Lets be honest, this is a game, that is why there are no child slaves. Realistically they would all be taken either for slaves, killed or turned into raiders themselves ( like child soldiers).
As a Pittsburgher I find the name of the one Raider to be rather amusing. The Term "Red Up" is Pittsburghese for cleaning up an area. So a Raider named Reddup is a nice nod to the lingo. Would have been funnier if the signs pointing to downtown were spelled the way it's said with a true Yinzer accent. Dahntahn.
pittsburg in of itself is a seriously amazing city. I would love a full game with the steel mill pitt area as the center and the area's around it explorable. could be 20 years after fallout 3 so you can see the effects of ashurs rule.
This was the choice that really fucked me over and reminded me of the story in New Vegas. I decided to side with Ashur. Wernher lied to us about the cure and kept us in the dark, which makes me think he is just interested in gaining power. Also I chose what was ultimately best for the people in the Pitt, Ashurs regime is extreme and brutal and yes the cure will take about 10 years to create but he is right. Thanks to him they are thriving despite the conditions, granted the enslavement thing is horrible but they have to do it otherwise there would be no one to work the mill because everyone would be dead anyway, he is pushing them to get things done and the Pitt is easily one of the most defendable places in the wasteland. Also if Marie is given to the slaves they will likely care nothing for her happiness so long as they get their cure, they won't be as gentle as her mother would. Speaking of which Maries mother is a scientist and will get the cure out much faster than the slaves would ever do. One more thing, if the baby is given to the slaves she might very well be killed once they have the cure as she is the daughter of the man who enslaves them. Sends shivers down my spine thinking of the unspeakable things they might do to her once they get the cure considering how long it will take to perfect and cure everyone, If there is one thing I have learned from your videos Ox the people of Fallout are fucking despicable.
The slavery servers nothing but to give him power, it doesn't advance the cure studies, it doesn't give the slaves any perspective of life. You save a baby but kill countless of innocent people. Just kidnap the baby, kill ashur because he clearly got corrupted with power, free the slaves, get everybody out, put a quarentine zone on the city, go to the followers of the apocalypse who have humanitarian ideology and better equipment that run down laboratory, make safe experiments, find a cure, cure the city, show it to the brotherhood of steel the cities potential, and create a better world. No need for raiding and indulging the practice, no need for slavery, no need for baby life hypocrisy when thousand are being killed crying for help losing everybody they love and turning into everything they hate for survival
Yeah but you forget that the FOA are on the other side of the wasteland, and you can't just say 'keep the city on Quarantine', Because apart from MAYBE Ashur, they wouldn't know about Quarantine. Ashur is ultimately the most morally upstanding choice in the LONG RUN, short no but long Yes. He may be a brutal Ruler, but he cares about the people in a strange way, and If you take Marie, you'd be as bad as Kellogg from FO4. The slaves would probably do horrible, horrible things to Marie to punish her for no fault of her own, and to try and cure themselves.
I remember playing this DLC and siding with the slaves and being absolutely horrified by what Werhner does with Marie. Ended up going back and siding with Ashur after hearing the audio logs. The Pitt was a great DLC thanks to the lack of black and white decisions.
I honestly still feel the Pitt's story was hamfisted as all hell. Plus, I'd honestly say to sacrifice the baby - the institution of slavery is far more horrific than what happens to the child.
Zee Captain I never expect too much from Bethesda in terms of story, but I find it more interesting than the easy good vs bad stuff they usually make. The way I look at it, I doubt the slaves have any real chance of getting the cure. With Ashur I find it more likely that they'll get the results and eventually cure what ails the Pitt.
But they're just as likely for Ashur to never get the cure at all, honestly. Even with the so called 10 year estimation, it's an estimation and not a guarantee. Plus, those slaves are still going to remain slaves in the end regardles if cured or not. Do you really think the raiders, as savage as they are, are going to let them go when everyone is cured? The status quo will remain in tact to the very end of the institution itself and it will not be broken without a catastrophic change. Wernher is a liar, can't deny but he's still morally superior than Ashur - even if he's hurting an innocent baby in the end to save the slaves.
Zee Captain if he were to get a cure though, a working steel mill and a way to combat radiation could do some real good too. Though I suppose Ashur would need to prove that he'd free his workers or pay them for their jobs if he wants to show some sign of being good.
Hazmat Suits don't offer adequate protection from intense concentrated radiation. Water purification is more feasible, but too expensive to use on slaves. It's like President Eden said... "Maybe you've got a makeshift purifier that cleans one glass of dirty water a day." A glass a day is inadequate for one person, let alone an entire city, and I doubt water purifiers are very common. Even those Mr. Handies can only produce 5 purified waters a week. (I assume they have some sort of built-in dehumidifier.) Again, this is inadequate to quench the needs of even a single person. There's just no way The Pitt could afford to hand out a commodity as valuable as purified water to slaves; not when they need it for their raiders.
Sure you're different, I took Marie so she wouldn't die after I killed all the raiders and slavers. I came to free the slaves from a tyrant who causes untold misery upon the world. Whose raiders pillage and loot the wasteland and whose unceasing demand for labor has destroyed numerous settlements. Once you consider the cure to be a secondary objective the moral quandary washes away. The only question is do you support Ashur's plan to rebuild civilization on the backs of slavery, and raiding.
Dan Skelley Unfortunately, this was kind of how civilization, the strong ones that are here today at least, the first world countries, this is how they got to where they are.
Now here's a thought, if Fallout 4 is 10yrs in the future of FO3, it's kind of a lost opportunity to not see the Pit again and see if they ever found a cure. If so, that would mean the raiders and people born there would, in the long run, inherit the Wasteland. Their immunity would mean they could settle in some of the harshest areas, freely eat irradiated food and drink filtered water that doesn't need the extra effort to purify of radiation. They're the only ones who can scavenge in the most irradiated of facilities like ghouls without the aid of suits and armors with limited thresholds of resistance. They could rival the Brotherhood if it means they can get a hold of lost technologies in those areas. But it's only if they succeeded. I wanna see how they've faired
Well if you wanna think of it like that the brother hood might of nuked the pitt afterall think of what they did to the institute they didnt destroy the institute because it would help the commonwealth they solely did it because they couldnt understand how technology could reach that level and because they wanted it for themselves
Mike Marks But there are different endings, like in my playthrough, the Institute hacked Liberty Prime then shot down the Prydwen. Also, I'm an Institute supporter, but the Brotherhood destroyed the Institute because Gen 3 synths were seen as abominations.
Void Blitz im also a institute supporter glad to see there are others who see that the commonwealth can benefit from theyre tech also the brother hood only viewed them as abominations because of the reason i stated
The reason Synths were seen as abominations was because to have a close friend or loved one replaced by billions of zeros and ones is quite terrifying. In the game, it is stated that the Institute worked peacefully with the Commonwealth until they started making Gen 3 Synths, scaring people that their brother may be a Synth. As evidenced by your first time in Diamond City.
1:55 Did you just say that Harris runs the Bar and Grill? That's a cool easter egg. There is a local restaurant with multiple locations here in Pittsburgh named "Harris Bar and Grill"
Actually Ox, it's more likely that the faster and harsher rates of mutation are the results of new people not having the resistances that natives developed,
I sided with the slaves on my first run through The Pitt. Everytime after though, I sided with Ashur... Not cause I am evil, I can't play an evil character in any game I play. I can't bring myself to kidnap Marie, even if it means the slaves wait... They wait... I made sure to not tell the rat anything, I ended the one slaves suffering, I collected every ingot so no other slave had to go ingot hunting. What turned the tide for me was when I learned that Wherner (forgot how to spell his name) used to be an underling of Ashurs... Also the fact that without Marie's mother, or even Ashur, the cure will never be finished. They have the medical technology to run the tests for the best results, whereas if you kidnap her, what do Wherner and Midea have? Ramshackle shacks that have nothing in the way of clean, sterile testing environments for what they intend, as well as the fact neither of them treat Marie as a human, but mearly a thing to be used and discarded... I can't stand by that... Even if it kills me to see the slaves suffer, as I wholeheartedly damn the idea and practice of slavery... I can't do it to the parents, or to Marie...
I'm three years late, but yeah, for me Ashur's ending is the best ending. I usually also roleplay that my Lone Wanderer will come back and end Ashur if Ashur fails to uphold his end of the bargain. One way or another, those slaves WILL be free eventually.
Toaster: I AM YOUR DOOM, FEAR ME FOOLS!!! FOR I WILL CLEANSE THE WORLD IN FIRE - oh, it was already cleansed by fire? THEN I WILL DROWN THE WORLD IN FIRE FOR THE SECOND TIME!!!
This DLC is the most challenging morally, I mean look at Marie, What right do we have to kidnap her and kill her for a cure? It's not her fault that she was born the child of a Slaver person, and Ashaur himself is a bad man, but he wants best for his People, End of the day, I can't bring myself to kidnap and murder Marie
A Tin Can thats a Paladin I'd trust a man with conviction than an opportunist any day. Marie will be the savior of the city and Ashur will spend his days making up for the evil he has condoned.
She's not murdered, Wernher even whines that they'd make more progress on the cure if everyone wasn't fussing over her. Don't see you crying for all the children who undoubtedly die because Ashur's raiders sack caravans towns and cart off their parents as slaves. @FUmac So the slaves should continue to suffer and die, countless innocents should fall victim to Ashur's raiders because Wernher who is not and has never been or will be the leader of the slaves(That's Medea) is an a-hole?
the story in New Vegas is 20x better, writing so great it can convince you that its a book, plus it has some nice humor all the while emotion is really expressed
I’ve literally only got around to watching this series on The Pitt today and I can’t believe I’ve not watched it before. Nice work. I’ve only played through this DLC once and now I want to go back and play it again.
Well, after just finding out the place I applied to for a job has hired someone before even interviewing me, when they said they'd call for an interview, this is just what I needed. Thanks, Oxhorn.
Romantic Outlaw, probably. Never having a job means no one will want to hire me, unless they have a heart, which is rare in these days. I just assumed a day care would have a heart.
Oxhorn my man, the work you put into these videos is astonishing. I love that you make a unique intro for all the DLC seasons, and not only that, but its a very good intro video.
15:05 This is still pretty cool even for how old FO3 is, the brass casings flying out of the rifle…Not only that, they actually look like they are ejecting correctly out of the ejection port and with perfect timing. I love it!
@Oxhorn the statue in front of Haven looks like it is used as some sort of wickerman where they burn troublesome slaves alive. This also explains the fire and braided rope which would be used as fuel.
When I got to this point in my own playthrough, I honestly wasn’t sure what to do. I was so unsure that I had to save the game and think on it for the reminder of that weekend.
I think it's best to support Ashur. The civilization that he's trying to build would be a huge bastion of hope for rebuilding the world, and it would mean true progress toward such a goal. The city of Pittsburgh could once again lead the country's industrial side, and all raiding could eventually be replaced by trading peacefully for needed supplies. I don't agree with forced labor, but if Ashur's vision comes true, which I think is pretty likely, then 10-20 years of pain can give birth to a century or two of stability.
PLEASE DO THE DIVIDE!! Pretty please, I need to know the full story of Ulysses, I was so confused when I played that dlc. Would love if you could clear that story up for me 😊
I really appreciate these kinds of vids ox. Going into detail and analyzing every significant key point to the total lore of the topic. I can tell you enjoy doing this and I enjoy watching.
Osborn the infiltrator is one of the best weapons it the game. It's just the infiltrator not the 'infiltrator smg' it also has a higher ammo capacity and is very accurate.
I know you don't actually read these comments, but I just thought I'd take a moment to complement you on your intros for these miniseries you make. They do set the tone, and are enjoyable to watch.
This was awesome. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on who you support in 3. I'll simply say for me. This is actually the hardest moral choice I've ever had in a video game. Especially when one has all the pieces in front of them.
Thinking about it, I think Marie's calls Marie subject on the computer so that no one learns that the baby is the cure should someone look on the computer. As if someone did find the notes on the computer, and learn about Marie, they might kidnap the child for their own reasons. So, to keep her safe, her mother calls her a subject on the computer.
Thanks for your content you made me go back and look and respect the details put into the games thank you. You made me experience different game. Thank you -Ronnie.
You missed that the Haven statue is a reference to Nic Cage’s Wicker Man he was burned in a wood statue like that and his body was kept in there just like the Pitt
My thoughts are that the iron statue at the entrance is that it's an "iron pull" kind of idea where they put someone inside and then the flames heat the metal
In from Pittsburgh. And redup mad me laugh. Redup is Pittsburgh slang for cleaning up a room before someone comes over. "I have to redup my room before my mom gets home" or " I have to redup the house before everyone comes home "
Mad max fury road, Children of man and the game The last of us use the same concept and story theme of the pitt dlc all of them are good apocalyptic stories and original in there own way, very interesting.
Keep it up, man. I find myself wanting MORE fallout content from you than you've got! I hope to see you fully cover the franchise, as well as covering others, in the future. God bless, & keep it up!
I helped Asher because I liked the idea of in the future he and his raiders develop a cure safety from the kid and like he said, they won’t have to kidnap slaves anymore, they will be able to grow naturally. Thought that was cool
This decision was a tough one. In all honesty I think siding with Ashur is the right call in the long run. If you side with Werner not only do you have to kidnap an innocent baby to have horrible tests run on her, you have to kill her innocent mother in cold blood. Yes the raiders are bad but can be changed over time from a position of power gained from helping Ashur.
I've also wondered if the only reason Ashur is even running a raider gang is because the Pitt is in such a shabby state as it is and he needs the funds and time to develop a cure to begin with.
"Raiders can't be bargained or reasoned with. And don't go waving the white flag - They'll just strangle you with it." I still support Werner in the end because I still firmly atone that the institution of slavery is more horrific than the endangerment of an innocent baby and the murdering of her mother. I kind of wish that you don't have to kill your mother, but I blame the Devs for not exactly making many more options on how to end certain quests. The raiders cannot be changed, sure there are former raiders like Jericho but the scale of suffering the slaves will commit is still far less than any continuation of the current system by Ashur.
Wernher is irrelevant in this choice; he's not the leader of the slaves Midea is, so siding with Ashur the cause of everyone's misery because Wernher is an a-hole. Oh and as to the kid’s safety in the slaves hands. Wernher whines, "I got folks working on it, 24/7. It'd go faster if they didn't keep fussing about not hurting the little squirt" Yeah to the slaves are just as concerned about not hurting her as her own parents. And if your so concerned about children, what about all the children who undoubtedly died as a result of Ashur's Raiders pillaging towns and caravans. Ashur has ruled The Pitt for decades and done absolutely nothing to rebuild the wasteland to make it better. The Steel Mill makes weapons, which supply the raiders so they can go out, and pillage for supplies and more slaves to keep the Mill Operational. It’s a viscous cycle of suffering, destruction and death. He claims he'll free the workers one day, once its no longer necessary. But once he has that cure whose to say he won't find another excuse to keep them in bondage. Plenty of horrible people convince themselves their actions are necessary. And why should we think the Raiders would ever go along with it? They follow because he's the biggest baddest raider out there, once he's no longer a raider, if they think he's gone soft he'll suffer the same fate as The Overboss in Nuka-World. Raiders are a REASON the world struggles to rebuild its self not a solution. To me even the cure is irrelevant, sure maybe they'll develop a vaccine or cure for TDC but for all radiation related mutations... the world of Fallout isn't that nice A cure for Trog degeneration might be possible but a cure for all Fallout mutations... the world isn't that nice. Plus there's already a cure for TDC leaving The Pitt. If you leave once the skin lesions appear you'll make a complete recovery.
Dan Skelley Ashur actually hates raiding and slavery, he wants to call them workers, and he has a elite group of raiders that are used just to take slav-ahem workers, and food for everyone. As for the cure not everyone has access to the cure, might as well produce a substitute and use it instead of losing supplies and lives just to get the cures.
I'll be honest, I never actually got the full effect of Uptown part of The Pitt, I usually do everything I need to do until I finish the Arena, and then I get all my gear back followed by a total killing spree. Unlike Nuka World, which only has you run through a Gauntlet and allows you to kill the main boss, The Pitt strips you down and makes you start back over again, which is fine, but only encourages me not to engage with the raiders anymore after I "earn" my stuff back. Personally, Ashur's Power Armor is all I care about, it's like an upgrade to Reilly's Ranger's, Ranger Battle Armor, with the +1 to Luck.
Keep up the epic work! First time playing through I sided with the slaves. Then I realized what the implications where for the child then I sided with Asher specifically not the raiders.
What implications for the child? "It'd go faster if they didn't keep fussing about not hurting the little squirt." The implication that the slaves fuss about not hurting her. The Implication that she won't grow up in a society that justifies raiding and slaving as a necessary evil. That she won't be feed and clothed by food stolen from the innocent people in the wasteland. That she won't grow up knowing that countless other children like her suffered and died because her dad's raiders stole there food or hauled off their parents to be worked to death in the steel mill.
Dan Skelley I don't disagree with you at all. This dlc was a very conflicting one for me. Ultimately I wish you could make Asher change his mind and instead rebuild for the better and make the pitt live able.
@@havoksaar7905 that's the thing the Pitt is too poisonous to live in at all , point lookout has more potential to build a big healthy colony for people to live at and the Pitt can be just a industrial center and have people live in uptown and use the robots to work mills and rotate workers between point lookout and the Pitt , point lookout will be a thriving place to live with large quantities of punga fruit etc to eat and help with radiation and the Pitt produces steel products like sheet metal, beams etc and everything will be better
Only specific zones in the Pitt are TDC-active, so children born outside of the worst areas (like the rivers) are fine. It’s likely that 30 years ago less areas were TDC-active, meaning more children would survive.
[The Wonderful Adventures of Preston Garvey] ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm happy to announce that we have 1 out of 3 winners of the contest. Shoutout to "Make Me Smile" for this awesome character! The character is Darren Miles, he serves as a Minuteman Captain. He is trusted IMMENSELY by the General. I'm sorry I haven't focused a lot on Preston and Gunners 1, 2 and 3. My dear apologies. I promise they will get much more attention. Preston still has his raider army...don't forget! Quick Recap: The Legion stormed the Railroad HQ and killed most of them. Desdemona, Tom, and a few agents and Drummer Boy got out. Deacon survived surprisingly. He is being crucified and interrogated by Legate Lanius's most trusted man, Praedo. (Praedo means Destroyer in Latin) Episode Twenty-Two: (Legate Lanius is preparing the assault on the Castle. Since they have control of the Old North Church AND Bunker Hill, they've gained an upper hand on the approaching NCR) Legionary: We have several spies on the outskirts of the Castle at the moment. We've also gained news from a spy in the so called, "Goodneighbor". Lanius: What is it? Legionary: Simply, it is an alternative Diamond City. The Railroad is hiding there. Lanius: So Praedo didn't kill them all? Legionary: No sir. Lanius: Prepare an assault on Goodneigbor. After that, we take Diamond City. After Diamond City bears the banner of Caesar...we go for the Castle, and then the giant bird. Legionary: It's called an airship. The Brotherhood named it the Prydwen. Lanius: Just do as I say. Now. Legionary: Yes sir. For Caesar! Lanius: For Caesar. He will be missed. But his legend lives on. (The Castle) Preston: So I was walking one night a long time ago and some Minutemen popped out of nowhere and killed a bunch of raiders attacking an old cheese cake factory. Guess they liked their cheesecake. Gunner 3: Haha. That's a good joke. Preston: No...it...actually happened. Gunner 1: That's an even better joke, Preston! Preston: I'm serious guys! Gunner 3: Sure, sure. As serious as my grandma was...uh...I never knew my grandma! (laughs) Gunner 1: (Laughs) Preston: Sure... Nick Valentine: Preston, do you know anything about Legion kidnappings or escapes? Preston: The Atom Cats were taken away and enslaved by the Legion. That's all I know of. Nick: Do you know where they would take them? Preston: Maybe- DB (Drummer Boy): Hey! General! Minutemen! I'm from the Railroad. Darren Miles: What do you want? DB: I'm here to tell you something. Darren: About? DB: Our headquarters was attacked by the Legion. We are holding up in Goodneighbor for now, but we won't be able to stay there forever. They're also in control of Bunker Hill. Darren: That's all you had to say? DB: Just get the message to the General. Please. We want to let you know, we are not holding anything back. We are with you one-hundred percent of the way. Darren: Great to hear. I'll make sure some Minutemen and stationed in Goodneighbor. That'll give you some extra safety. DB: Thank you so much! Darren: Yeah. Get going now. Not everyone here likes you all. Nick: (Turns back to Preston) The Railroad HQ, huh? And Bunker Hill? Intriguing. Preston: Do you plan on getting Dr. John Dee out of the picture before or after I get my Raider army? Nick: I'm pretty sure it would be best if we got him out of the picture before the final battle. Gunner 1: Sounds like a plan then. Gunner 2: Are you all sure? This operation could end our lives... Nick: Ah, cheer up. This'll be over in no time. Now, let's get going to Bunker Hill. Preston: Yeah! I've never been there. So I have no idea what it used to be... Gunner 3: It was a settlement. Sort of a hideout I guess. Caravaners came through there a lot. The whole place is overflowing with Legion scum. Preston: Oh. That's why we're going there... That's the end for this episode. The series is obviously nearing an end. Let me know if you guys would like me to make a season 2. Just want to know. Keep those character ideas reeling in! I love them all so far. :)
season two is gonna have to happen non of us is ready for this series to end oh I have a cool idea for season two take some characters and them in like lets say 7 fanmade characters that'll add some spice to season two. great episode as always PS:did read my backstory for Dr John Dee?

This moral dilemma is, if nothing else, enlightening to the intensions of the Institute’s action in Fallout 4. Bethesda never fail to make you second doubt your own ‘moral compass’.
wait....I just realised after thinking it over that the Trog Fledglings are actually mutated children that turn after birth, fucking hell thats dark.
I cannot sleep now s#$%
it's been said that all the trogs do is kill - eat and fuck 😂.
thats what i missed about the grim dark of the post apocalypse setting of fallout.
Fuck bro no sleep now wtf 😂
Those Trog fledglings are my brothers and we are the last remnants of a once-proud intergalactic race of heavy chem fiends. Our kind multiplied across the galaxy for centuries using the heaviest of chems and the latest catfishing technology... at least, we used to. Now all that catfishing has come home to noodle, and we are up shit's creek without a paddle! Please, if anyone here could please call the police I think we will just about be done here.
I'm pretty sure that statue is meant to be a torture device/way to kill or punish slaves or other raiders. Kind of like the Brazen Bull. You put someone in the body of that thing, heat up the statue using flames, and then watch them slowly roast alive.
JakeTakesTheCakes
Good thinking.
MiguelPpM Is it "good" thinking? Or just really fucked up thinking...
JakeTakesTheCakes
Good in the way you've a possible reference or coincidental similarity by the looks of things.
Edit: Anyway that's brutal.
MiguelPpM Oh yeah the Brazen Bull is a horrifying torture device. It just literally roasted people alive. Perfect for insane raiders in Fallout.
but ox said the statue is covered in ropes (over the metal) while it would take a lot of heat to kill the person, wouldnt that also burn the ropes?
actualy the first thing i thought of was the whicker man (richard burton rather rhan nick 'not the BEES!' cage lol) tho again, we have the issue of fire. maybe the raiders just like to stuff body parts all over, i mean its rheir art style lol...early psycho-expresionisme lol.
Funfact about the Pitt Raiders: A lot of their names are subtle references to local sites in Pittsburgh.
For example, Essie's Original Hotdog Shop in Oakland is referred to locally as "The O" and so they sell "O-Dogs."
Jordan Neave Wow that's awesome! Thanks for sharing I never knew this.
Harris Grill, and Lulu's is also a popular food place in Pittsburgh.
The O, better known as the Dirty O. Man there's no way in hell I'd eat there unless I was blasted drunk, but considering how close that place is to a bunch of bars, it's not a stretch
That moment when you turn into Kellogg.
Ramenbunny I have never looked at it that way
Well I know what I'm not doing my next run through the pit
So true xD
Woah that hit harder than I thought.
Shit man.......ima join the raiders now, that hit like a .44 magnum round....to the head
Ramenbunny
Hmm…
fun fact: Harris grill and Lulu's are both popular food spots in Pittsburgh.
Richard F. D. Jr. That was fun.
I turned on Werner because he never said anything about having to kidnap children. That for my merc character broke contract. That is how I justified my actions in the Pit.
So you're okay with all the kidnapping The Pitt does leaving orphaned children to die because their parents are worked to death in the Steel Mill
Well would you rather they bring the children with them?
Yes because we all know raider are known to leave survivors . Lets be honest, this is a game, that is why there are no child slaves. Realistically they would all be taken either for slaves, killed or turned into raiders themselves ( like child soldiers).
netrider102 aren't there child slaves at paradise falls unless you free them?
Greg V. Yes there are, and I'm pretty sure references to child slaves as well in other Fallout media.
Dahntahn.
I think the "four previous slaves" thing was a lie, whereas the comment that "You'd be surprised how many of us worked our way up" is more truthful.
I agree. They likely lie to keep the slaves from getting too hopeful.
@@averybishopmartin6964 Yeah if they ALL signed up for the trials, they'd be short of people who can actually work.
4 out of like 10 people you can talk to is still a surprising amount.
@@FuckTard-dd1ee lmao
you can see the deeper stories that the writers wanted to tell everywhere! If only the Pitt was a full game rather than a DLC
pittsburg in of itself is a seriously amazing city. I would love a full game with the steel mill pitt area as the center and the area's around it explorable. could be 20 years after fallout 3 so you can see the effects of ashurs rule.
Mwarrior1991 yes
And seeing what a young woman Marie is like after hearing the tapes her dad made for her.
Jericho Strayker The lone wonder is lord of the Pitt unlikely he would kill a baby or child. In cannon lone wonder is good
The slavery servers nothing but to give him power, it doesn't advance the cure studies, it doesn't give the slaves any perspective of life.
Ruan Andry Santos da Costa the fallowers of the apocalypse exist in NCR territory and the Mojave dumb dumb
Ruan or fucking pay the workers I mean fallout labor is cheap as fuck.
Zee Captain honestly the cure overall would help the whole planet not just the Pitt so
So how much of the trog effects could be alleviated if they just purified the water and gave the slaves hazmat suits??
TheKlink Not to mention them eating fucking trog flesh. Which contains the mutagens in question.
Realistically hazmat suits would be rare and expensive
Hazmat Suits don't offer adequate protection from intense concentrated radiation. Water purification is more feasible, but too expensive to use on slaves. It's like President Eden said...
"Maybe you've got a makeshift purifier that cleans one glass of dirty water a day."
A glass a day is inadequate for one person, let alone an entire city, and I doubt water purifiers are very common.
Yeah or at least gas mask for those that need them for their jobs. IE welding and whatnot.
imagine if the capital wasteland would distribute the aqua pura to them
Just realized if you kidnap the kid you are no different than Kellogg in Fallout 4
Mark Noone
Kellog was a mercenary. I think it's how he did it, he was too brutal.
that is true, the cure to the mutation just seems to be leave the pit and do not return.
Nathan556782 The so called "Strong" are high on drugs or under influence. They either die in a raid or from overdose or in an accident.
Dan Skelley Unfortunately, this was kind of how civilization, the strong ones that are here today at least, the first world countries, this is how they got to where they are.
I have to admit, Phantom actually seems like a somewhat decent guy. That is, he isn't a complete psychopath.
same
Because unlike other raiders, Phantom was a slave too so I'm pretty sure he is fair and good to slaves
Heidao well in fallout 4 there is the children of atom who have a natural resistance to all radiation
Actually Ox, it's more likely that the faster and harsher rates of mutation are the results of new people not having the resistances that natives developed,
Good call, that makes a lot of sense
Haha weakling i ONLY do evil endings
@@memelord9459 Your profile picture and name invalidate anything you have to say. Lol
@@memelord9459 lol
I'm three years late, but yeah, for me Ashur's ending is the best ending. I usually also roleplay that my Lone Wanderer will come back and end Ashur if Ashur fails to uphold his end of the bargain. One way or another, those slaves WILL be free eventually.
Easily the grayest of morals the pit is.
This is as morally gray as morally gray as Far harbour.......No this is worse
I read that as "Easily the gayest of all the morals in the pit."
This is why we spell it "grey"
Joshua I read it that way too, lol.
Nice Legs Babe
When will old world blues come?
I'd like to start toaster radio
After dead money but before lonesome road?
It should be the next one with the New Vegas DLC both in release and story order
Oh god the Toaster...lol
TIE Fighter The toaster deserves his own game
A Tin Can thats a Paladin It's pretty messed up when the Slaver cares more about the Slaves than the so-called "Hero of the People".
Wernher is MUCH worse. All he wants is a power.
A Tin Can thats a Paladin
I'd trust a man with conviction than an opportunist any day.
@FUmac
So the slaves should continue to suffer and die, countless innocents should fall victim to Ashur's raiders because Wernher who is not and has never been or will be the leader of the slaves(That's Medea) is an a-hole?
A Tin Can thats a Paladin If youre a cannibal you can eat it.
Loved how Ox absolutely TORCHED Friday's butt... "Try spending more caps next time!" "Maybe if you actually had something better to by I would!" 😝😂😂
Vikia always has herself an "accidental" fall from her sniping point...
If only Nuka World was as awesome as this DLC. Another brilliant video Ox!
ArchAFae If only Fallout 4 was as good as 3 and New Vegas in general. I could've easily put 10x as many hours into it lol.
+josue rodas what
the story in New Vegas is 20x better, writing so great it can convince you that its a book, plus it has some nice humor all the while emotion is really expressed
josue rodas You don't know da wae. Fallout 4 is arse. * SPIT *
Fallout 4 isn't as bad it just isn't at the same level as Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
Rena Ami Akai Ggod luck in your future interviews
well that sucks.
saying they'll call you is a pretty sure sign they put your resume in the shredder
Romantic Outlaw, probably. Never having a job means no one will want to hire me, unless they have a heart, which is rare in these days. I just assumed a day care would have a heart.
Rena Ami Akai day care workers are the worse kind of people
When I see “strange meat” I already know if someone is a cannibel beacuse everytime you find strange meat a cannibel is near
Killing the hunters that have strange meat you van get a finger if you got the lawbringer
Oxhorn: but we will explore both endings in the next episode.
Me: noooooooooooooo! I can't wait!
Oxhorn my man, the work you put into these videos is astonishing. I love that you make a unique intro for all the DLC seasons, and not only that, but its a very good intro video.
10:53
_How scandalous~_
I just love it when Ox finds things like that.
Fun fact:The trogs where suposed to be in fallout van buren
15:05 This is still pretty cool even for how old FO3 is, the brass casings flying out of the rifle…Not only that, they actually look like they are ejecting correctly out of the ejection port and with perfect timing. I love it!
"I want the truth!"
"You can't handle the truth!"
@Oxhorn the statue in front of Haven looks like it is used as some sort of wickerman where they burn troublesome slaves alive. This also explains the fire and braided rope which would be used as fuel.
when your playing as a hero of the wasteland...and then you have to make this kind of choice.
Would love if you could clear that story up for me 😊
He won't do The Divide until after OWB
How do the DLCs go canonically?
I've played all of fallouts and I still love watching your videos love the extra lore details I had missed !
40:41 Word of a settlement that needs your help.
Before _meating_ their lord😂😂 that’s all I heard
Me, too. Glad I'm not the only one. 🤣
Phantom doesn't "attack" that wall, he creates art!
I knew I recognized Cathy! Everyone who went to the University of Pittsburgh would recognize it!
The decision with what to do with the cure was also a difficult moral decision
No matter how many times I played through this dlc I could never bring myself to kidnap the baby so it will be interesting to see the other ending.
I never got to finish this because of the bugs this had. You're killing me with these cliffhangers. Love your storytelling.
I can't wait for the Lonesome road DLC videos man, one of my favs.
It really sounds like Friday is voiced by Amy Sedaris but I can't find any credits for this DLC online.
"They are not slaves, they are workers!" (One of the only reasons why i joined to him.)
But that was a lie
You missed that the Haven statue is a reference to Nic Cage’s Wicker Man he was burned in a wood statue like that and his body was kept in there just like the Pitt
Sometimes there are not good options only bad options and worse options and which is which is arguable.
My thoughts are that the iron statue at the entrance is that it's an "iron pull" kind of idea where they put someone inside and then the flames heat the metal
I really love the beginning! Looked like a documentary.
this is almost better than just playing the game lol. I never thought I'd ever so willingly watch 30+ minute videos but here I am. Great content
This really makes me want to replay fallout 3 and install the Pitt
In from Pittsburgh. And redup mad me laugh. Redup is Pittsburgh slang for cleaning up a room before someone comes over. "I have to redup my room before my mom gets home" or " I have to redup the house before everyone comes home "
It's people, -soylent green- the cure is people.
Uh, wow. Never saw the body in that statue. I always tried to walk around or not look at it.
This is the best series yet, and the others were great! Keep it up Ox!
The fact you can can put a long video out every day is just
Mad max fury road, Children of man and the game The last of us use the same concept and story theme of the pitt dlc all of them are good apocalyptic stories and original in there own way, very interesting.
There's a Waylon Jennings song "Trouble Man". I wonder if that was a nod from Bethesda.
I hope in fallout 5 our map is the whole USA and we see what happened to the pit 400 years later and pick up the remains
36:06 is an acknowledgement to Fallout 2. Where you shall grow a sixth toe and be able to use it against the Boss at end.
AH thanks for that!
Love your videos! I love how you chose every possibility there is which makes you different from the rest! Keep up with the great work!
Hearing the small number of voice actors on Bethesda games really makes me wish I could find work doing VA/VO
You're a great story teller Oxhorn. So entertaining. :)
Keep it up, man. I find myself wanting MORE fallout content from you than you've got! I hope to see you fully cover the franchise, as well as covering others, in the future. God bless, & keep it up!
You need to do a full story of vault 101
I LOVE THE CATHEDRAL OF LEARNING!!! I've been there numerous times! I highly recommend visiting if you haven't.
40:41 ashur is preston garvey confirmed
I helped Asher because I liked the idea of in the future he and his raiders develop a cure safety from the kid and like he said, they won’t have to kidnap slaves anymore, they will be able to grow naturally. Thought that was cool
"its name its not written anywhere" , Bar + Grill literally written on the wall
Hey Oxhorn! Being that I lost by dog today, watching this video brightened my day a bit.
Good work as usual Oxhorn
Oh gosh, I've never seen this plot twist coming! I can't wait for the next episode!
Phantom sounds exactly like Moe Sizlack.
These series are your best work. I will wait patiently until you get to some more New Vegas DLC. Keep up the good work.
Done with my homework now time for my favorite youtuber
If you leave once the skin lesions appear you'll make a complete recovery.
for real, i don't see how people can't see this.
GOD DAMN YOU! You JUST released this video, and I have to be at work in 20 minutes!
Seamus Aindriu O'Coran same here
Keep up the epic work! First time playing through I sided with the slaves. Then I realized what the implications where for the child then I sided with Asher specifically not the raiders.
What implications for the child?
"It'd go faster if they didn't keep fussing about not hurting the little squirt."
The implication that the slaves fuss about not hurting her.
19:55; Mate, your character is the most derpy thing I've ever seen.
Ok darn it, Oxhorn you monster, you made me subscribe I can't be left in this cliffhanger
This has been another kick-ass series! Thanks!
That statue reminds me of the effigy from whicker man.
I love how you said "I Kick Ass" 😂
Only specific zones in the Pitt are TDC-active, so children born outside of the worst areas (like the rivers) are fine. It’s likely that 30 years ago less areas were TDC-active, meaning more children would survive.
[The Wonderful Adventures of Preston Garvey]
ANNOUNCEMENT: I'm happy to announce that we have 1 out of 3 winners of the contest.
(Praedo means Destroyer in Latin)
Episode Twenty-Two:
(Legate Lanius is preparing the assault on the Castle. Since they have control of the Old North Church AND Bunker Hill, they've gained an upper hand on the approaching NCR)
Legionary: We have several spies on the outskirts of the Castle at the moment.
(The Castle)
Preston: So I was walking one night a long time ago and some Minutemen popped out of nowhere and killed a bunch of raiders attacking an old cheese cake factory.
(laughs)
Gunner 1: (Laughs)
Preston: Sure...
Nick Valentine: Preston, do you know anything about Legion kidnappings or escapes?
Preston: The Atom Cats were taken away and enslaved by the Legion. That's all I know of.
Nick: Do you know where they would take them?
Preston: Maybe-
DB (Drummer Boy): Hey! General!

Appreciate all the insight to these characters, shame you need the strategy guide to learn all these details
Ashur reminds me of Lenin; high ideals, hypocrite, thinks he's playing the long game, but is too shortsighted to see the flaws in his plans.
