Something I have on my switch when I don't have my joycon connected to it and it's docked are the Switch Blades. They're just aesthetic, but they look really nice and have flip out feet which are very useful on the older model, since the kick stand is pretty terrible.
For handheld mode, which I play in most of the time, I use the neo gripcase with the trigger grip option that it alrdy comes with. And of course a screen protector is a must. And to protect my switch on the go I use the Tomtoc slim case.
SD Card, Hori Pad (or similar joycon proper-sized replacements with back buttons for adult hands), Switch Pro controller - that's all I personally needed for my Switch.
I use a Smatree hardshell case for mine. The first one I got has the foam insert with cutouts for the switch(and a removable bezel if you're using switch in the crystal case), the joycon grip, the base, the the joycon wrist strap attachments, and some additional accessories, as well as a sheet of game card pockets anda pocket in the lid for cords and other stuff. The second one I got and am currently using has all that and two additional slots for pro controllers

I did like the satisfye grip, but then i moved onto the Skull & Co. one and the options of changing colour grips to match the joy cons you have, and thumb grips with different heights and purposes is absolutely awesome, i use the neogrip and its cool that you can use the new kickstand even with grip attached, sadly you can only really use it with the smaller grips but i don’t really play in tabletop mode that much anyway so it doesn’t really matter for me, but i thought i should mention it if people who read this comment and inform them of that little problem, great video by the way 👍
Yeah I love the skull and co one. I got the Splatoon neo grip when I got my pled and it worked out great. I use the small grips because it adds grips but still keeps that more Nintendo switch feel while still being more comfortsble. It also works on the dock with usb things still plugged in on the sides unlike bigger grips
The grip is a must have if your planning on getting a switch. My favorite accessories are the grip and the large case and something that you didn’t mention in this video is the official licensed battery pack by Nintendo.
I got this on christmas of this year. Ive wanted this since 2017, after i saw all my friends playing great games such as smash and mario kart. Ive always wanted to play with them on my very own switch. My prayers were answered, and now, im 15, and have my dream item, and got some accessories, very happy.
The Satisfye grip really is nice! Since getting that and an OLED Switch, I've been playing my Switch in handheld mode a lot more. Those Satisfye grips are pretty tight though. That's good, because it means it holds the Switch in place, but I'm always worried that continuously taking it on and off my Switch will damage my joycons in some way. Not sure if anyone has had an issue like that.
I recently purchased the PowerA Nano controller and absolutely love it! I have small hands so it's super easy to adjust to, and hold in my hands. I highly recommend!!!
Thanks for the help! I’m thinking of getting my dad a switch for Christmas and wanted to look at accessories that would improve his experience. He’s always working out of town and sometimes has nothing to do but to watch something on his tablet so the grips will be good for him. Very late comment. One massive overlooked accessory is the "8bitdo" adapter which allows you to connect your PS5, PS4 and xbox controller to your switch when its docked. It only costs 20 euros, and it saves you money if you prefer to use a controller for the switch. Since you dont need a switch pro controller because of it. Even motion controls still work. I use it with my ps5 controller so the vibrations feel pretty good :)

Thought I'd hate the joycons, but I like the default plastic controller thingy a lot. Kinda wish the switch came with a better grip in handheld mode, cause my fingers do indeed start to hurt after a while.
You were right at the point. Those 2 accessories you recommended at the last was the most main accessories that we really needed for the Switch. I was thinking the same thing as you are when started buying this console
the skull and co neogrip is better than satisfye. Skull's stackable thumb pads also have superior grip, comfort and control when using the medium and tall pieces together for each joy on stick. best way to go if you're going handheld. btw the fusion pro is potentially the best, but a simple design flaw which prevents full up travel on the left stick, is what caused all the problems. if you're playing a shooter or any 3d games, you'll notice the problem when you can't move at full speed forward. that's why it sells now for $65. tremendous potential and so much detail, but they messed us the basic dpad travel.
I've been using the skull and co but that case, not the Neo. Also been using their thumb pads as well. Far and away the best ones I've used for the Switch. I did just order the Mobapad M6 HD which are complete joy con replacements so we'll see how that goes.
Also if you don't wanna pay for a controller that costs $60-100 you can buy a $10-20 USB that you can hook up your Xbox Elite or ps5 controllers to your Nintendo
I haven’t got many accessories for my Switch but I love my controller, it feels great whilst playing in dock mode. Also I got a tomtoc bag for all of my games, Switch and I can fit a controller in as well. I love how good your videos look! 🙂

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the pro controller from Hori, since it's way better than just having some extra grip on handheld mode. That accessory is a must for anyone who wants to play in handheld because it's real comfy, it has better buttons, joysticks oh and it doesn't have drift so again it's a must, believe me after you use it you won't be able to use joycons anymore.
Yeah, the Hori split pad pros are nice, but you can't use them wirelessly, they dont have vibration, motion controls and stuff like that. Binbok/NYXI joy cons fix that. U can use them wirelessly, they have vibration, motion controls, good grip, and it wakes up the switch. It also comes with a rail thing (like the joy con grip) so u can use it as a pro controller
A great alternative for the handheld grip is the OIVO Grip,it has good grip a kick stand and 5 slots on the back for games and it comes with two sizes of thumb grips for the joysticks so I would get this but the one in the vid is great to
The OLED is my upgrade for my switch lite I plan to save up over time via my allowance (I work as a intern in a work program where it will properly hire me after a while) it also fixes the issue where I can't repair the controller buttons at a repair shop because they are attached to the console.

Planning to give it a try to this switch. I’m a truck driver and sometimes I kind of want to get out and play games for a bit . I do have my ps4 with me but takes a lot of space and I have to connect it and put it away and use my hotspot from my phone or tablet to play online .
How big a memory card do we need? to be on the safe side? futureproof. I plan to get a Switch but do not have any idea about this memory card thing. It will help, if you can break into different usage scenerio.

I really like it! I've had the OG Switch for years, and still went and bought the OLED one (just for that crisp screen). If you like the exclusives is hard not to love it. But it really is a handheld console (it looks pixelated on the TV).
I'm definitely going to get myself some headphones as I will be mainly playing it in handheld mode. Another controller is always handy especially for when it's docked as I'm not keen on the one out of the box. I really enjoy your content, I'm definitely subscribing. 🙂

To charge while platting handheld you can also use the cable that plugs into your doc that’s what I use.

As far as handheld use goes, the best thing for the switch is the hori split pad. They are a little bulky but well worth it.
Any top switch games? Would love to see a video of like top 3 games on each console or something!

I would recommend the hori joycons for handheld gaming
The 8bitdo pro 2 is a brilliant controller a definite buy. It’s the same as the powera fusion controller for half the price
