if u are looking for something unique and other than normal racing, blur is the option for you. prefer blur more as t has diffrent gamemodes such as destruction: destroy other using bolts, time trial: beat a given track with a particullar amount of time given with nitro powerups, checkpoints which gives u 5 seconds to spare and u also have to be strategic to win. It also has variety of bosses which give u demands to complete whch are pretty challenging, completing the demands lead u to one on ones. blur also has alot of cool powerups such as shunts which track down the opponent and give them a bad hit, nitro which increases your speed, mine which explodes ur enemy dealing 2 hearts of damge, barge, damage ur opponent if hes close to u in any direction, repair wrench, heal yourself if low on health, shield, protect yourself from deadly powers such as barge, shunts, etc blur one on ones are just so hard even with powerups as they are the main bosses u gotta defeat to progress. if u are looking for some intense hardcore racing, S/S is the best option S/S is also gud if u are looking for normal racing games with gud graphics, intense music and sounds in S/S its definately a challenge to be at first position. It also has some explosive racing mechanics and alot of carsto use unlike blur with lack of cars. Splitsecond is made for people who like normal racing. Personally i like blur more.
I honestly think split second is better because of how more epic it feels when playing the game. progression is simple, races are tense, and the power plays are awesome. This game needs a lot more attention than it has gotten.
Split/Second also had cars that were difficult to drive, the new events dried up after a few episode of the Season mode, and the locations were reused a lot. Blur meanwhile had better aesthetics, a more compelling soundtrack, more immediate thrills, and it was a blast to play. But you really can't go wrong with either game-they're both very good at what they do and were the last bastion of truly great arcade racing games.
Blur is Mario Kart on steriods while Split Second is racing game made by Micheal Bay, Blur was way better, it doesnt need explosions, or a cheezy soundtrack, it has spectacular sound design, beautiful cars and it gives out the most intense feeling, just listening to Blur makes my skin chill and hairs stand up, sure Split second looks great, but its not about the look, its about gameplay.

Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd choose Split/Second as the better game. There's also a kick-ass soundtrack, cleverly designed cars that are shockingly similar to real-life cars, and gorgeous looking graphics, especially in the explosions. Blur, on the other hand, does have an equally fast sense of speed as Split/Second, a beautifully modern art style, and a slightly accurate representation of street racing, despite, you know THE ITEMS. But overall, Split/Second impresses me the most. I just got it for Xbox 360 and It. Is! Awesome!! ....but that's just my silly opinion. I'm sure I'm wrong to someone or another. Edit (After 5 freaking years, geez): After finally playing both games, I also prefer Split/Second's tighter arcade handling to Blur's more slippery sim-like handling. Pulling off drifts in S/S is loads more satisfying to me than in Blur!
to be fair, perfecting drifting in blur is a lot more rewarding (at least in online) because of the drift master mod which gives you a boost every time you excecute a solid drift (it’s how pretty much everyone wins)
Kevin E. Levin Well, First, Blur have real life cars like Camaro, Focus, Skyline etc. Second, Blur have better soundracks (in my opinion). Moreover, awesome sweet graphics. And the last thing would be better story than Split Second (I have never played Split Second, just watched few videos on youtube, but I think that Blur still have better story) But meh, this is just my opinion

Like in split second when you tap the break to drift and the car sort of leans forward like you are slowing down. That's sort of what I mean. Not just their games but movies too. there is always a cheap cartoony moment in everything they make. I can't stand it.

In 2018, if anyone is paying attention anymore, Blur is still my favorite racing game...but since Split Second is free on Xbox One, I will give it a shot.
both of them are awesome blur is more cool in high speed and fun and split second is awesome because of explosion and graphics but if you like and respect racing games you should appreciate both!
BOTH --- are Crazy , fun and addictive. They both made it beautiful to drive dangerously and keep you hooked till the end. They're both my favorite Racers ever. If you ever needed an EPIC sound to race to - it had to be Split Second !!!
Split seconds wins hands down, apart from the fast pace races the intense motions the split seconds decisions there's also the drifting which just enhances the game
These game I think both fately to be rival especially both are combat racing made same in 2010 and sadly only has pne sequel Blur is more power-up combats just like Mario-kart with Real Car as plus-side Split Second is more about realism with you and other racers try to wrecked each other using powerplay which is Environment trap which gives goosebumps especially impact of it when collapses and switched route for unexpected even without real cars
I also have to say it's a toss up between the two. I personally prefer the physics in Blur and mixing up Wipeout concepts with Arcade racing and throwing in a few ideas of their own makes for a good solid racing experience but overall Split Second definitely has far more original ideas that makes for an exciting racing experience.
Split second....Best racing game i ever played...This game is not just about race..but also about surviving, destroying and lots of other things..once u started playing it..u will be addicted to it...I am so sad that there is no part 2
wow during Blur's pre alpha it looks so different, sound is different from cars and power ups, and the HUD is different (heads up display) I've played the pre alpha before but, I never noticed anything is so different from the full game. I think they should of stick with the original sounds from the pre alpha and it looks amazing! but. still loved the full version tho... I hope they make a sequel for blur is been almost 10 years since it was cancelled.
blur for sure. Btw I'm about to get blur again for the 360. If anyone has the game still on the 360 and the servers still work, send me a friend request and message. My GT is: Versa Type

In my opinion you cant really compare these 2 games. they have different aspects that make them 2 totally different types of racing games. Blur has the aspect of combat where you can blast someone with an ability to win a race kinda like Mario kart. Split second is just a regular race with insane obstacles. I love drifting, so if I had to choose i would pick Split second for its graphics and its awesome drifting.

Split Second: the best action car game ever you'd love the game for about a month you'd love the explosions and realize the only reason your playing this game still is just to see the plane crash and if you like need for speed or burn out well your in luck the drifting is easy as hell ever turn you drift rather you like it or not and the crash details is set up only for the track your racing on not the cars. you'd love it. after a while you'd get bored of it when you've played the same track over 9000 times and never pick it up again sadly but that 1 month with Split Second would be the best month ever.
Oh yes because Blur wouldn't get boring after replaying the same tracks. BLUR IS MORE BORING.
You cannot even do any fascinating explosions in there
All you do is shoot these stupid ass powerups.
In 2018, if anyone is paying attention anymore, Blur is still my favorite racing game...but since Split Second is free on Xbox One, I will give it a shot.
Mario Kart ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
both of them are awesome blur is more cool in high speed and fun and split second is awesome because of explosion and graphics but if you like and respect racing games you should appreciate both!
Blur, of course
dah
Fuck Blur. S/S is life.
Played Both and it's BLUR without a question.
Just for the LAN option.
blur
BOTH --- are Crazy , fun and addictive. They both made it beautiful to drive dangerously and keep you hooked till the end. They're both my favorite Racers ever. If you ever needed an EPIC sound to race to - it had to be Split Second !!!
CCXR. I mean...BLUR
Nomentsoa A. yeah ccxr is the best car in the game
BLUR IS THE BEST GAME I LOVE POWER OF THIS GAME SO MACH BETTER THAN SPLIT SECOND THUMBS UP
Definitly Blur. I saw that vid and there is only drifts on the other game, nothing more.
And stupid explosions. That's all.
thats true
So you prefer unrealistic power ups.
Well then you will never be able to enjoy Split Second the way it's supposed to be enjoyed.
Split seconds wins hands down, apart from the fast pace races the intense motions the split seconds decisions there's also the drifting which just enhances the game
Split second is boring . I will go for blur .
FutureGamingBro lol it's predictable
These game I think both fately to be rival especially both are combat racing made same in 2010 and sadly only has pne sequel
Blur is more power-up combats just like Mario-kart with Real Car as plus-side
Split Second is more about realism with you and other racers try to wrecked each other using powerplay which is Environment trap which gives goosebumps especially impact of it when collapses and switched route for unexpected even without real cars
blur of cuarse
Blur es mejor, es carrera a muerte, destrucción y adrenalina al límite, una joya que pocos conocemos xD
both are great.....
because in blur you can have that power up things and in split second blowing up stuff
blur won the 2010 best racing game award. i was reading in a 2010 topgear magazine.
I liked them both allot. Buy both of them lol.
BTW why u drivin' 1st and pikking up Barge? Why not the shield lol
Split/Second the best race 2017...
Hmmm hard choice mmmmm..... ....... i think split/second is better. why? Because blur has damage limitations and split/second doesn't.
wow during Blur's pre alpha it looks so different, sound is different from cars and power ups, and the HUD is different (heads up display) I've played the pre alpha before but, I never noticed anything is so different from the full game. I think they should of stick with the original sounds from the pre alpha and it looks amazing! but. still loved the full version tho... I hope they make a sequel for blur is been almost 10 years since it was cancelled.
The car in spilt second looks like a new corvette
Both ones
blur for sure. Btw I'm about to get blur again for the 360. If anyone has the game still on the 360 and the servers still work, send me a friend request and message. My GT is: Versa Type
That was the beta version of BLUR. Now if you play it you will love it,because now it has better multiplayer and better game quality.Blur will be one of the best racegames that ive played. I dont know why it hasnt much fans but its a very good game! ^_^
If you play lots of multiplayer games, then you can easily answer this, blur is way better than split
In my opinion you cant really compare these 2 games. they have different aspects that make them 2 totally different types of racing games. Blur has the aspect of combat where you can blast someone with an ability to win a race kinda like Mario kart. Split second is just a regular race with insane obstacles. I love drifting, so if I had to choose i would pick Split second for its graphics and its awesome drifting.
both games are incredibly fun and entertaining.
