Those movies depicts the fantazy of common men who are nothing in real life. Malayalam industry is slowly beginning to realise those things. For example, the heroine fantazy you said is slowly changing, movies like Thamasha, Helen, Kumbalangi nights, Finals etc. When I was a kid, Narasimham used to be one of my favorite movies and each time I watched it I got goosebumps. But nowadays when I watch it, it feels like a joke. The super human hero, the nishku heroine, IAS exam first rank, Hiding in water till the supporting actor introduce him, Want a wife to fulfill his stupid fantazy and heroine jumping with joy🙄.... When that move came in radical feminism was getting less traction in Kerala but eternal feminism was getting recognition (maybe not the name but cetainly the idea) so the ' celebration of womenhood was a part of that form of resistance. Now when we look back after embracing radical/third wave feminism (the real feminism as it is called) we will feel it is redundant but it was the resistance of the time. I am not gonna shy away from accepting that there were probamatic issues. But it was a good baby step I think .

Thats where our cinemas has to grow and globalized it's views.. even in scorsese's movies whichever lady characters come in, they dont just come in a figment of male fantasy on the contrary they are treated as characters with own stands.
For a balanced view in that scenario, the creative ppl should step in to the female's shoes at times and try to think from their angle.. actually thats capablity to empathize with female inner world is what a better writer/director needs these days.
