In the third part of my "X-Plane 11 For Beginners" tutorial series, it's all about X-Plane 11's stock views system (which is quite awesome). I will try to show you everything you need to know, like camera movement via mouse and keyboard, setting up and saving cockpit cameras and wing views(!), as well as dealing with external views. The free Headshake plugin by Simcoders will further enhance the cockpit views, you can see my (relatively subtle) settings near the end of the video.

To make sure that X-Plane really saves your views setup for an aircraft, I recommend reloading the aircraft once after saving all your view positions via the top menu bar [Developer -> Reload Current Aircraft (Skip Art Reload)].
Is there a way to track your plane while in the free camera mode?
You can actually save up to #20 presets in XP using a self chosen modifier. I'm using ALT+NUM for preset #11-20 (CTRL-ALT-NUM to save)
Wow I didn't know that yet, thanks for the hint. Comment pinned ;)
Thanks to both of u, found it annoying just using x camera ugh so bad
Hi BitTRIP. by exemple you mean you just push ALT+NUM1 to save a view . and when you'll push #1 key you'll see the view you save?
@@didierdeparis9582 No, like in video explained you use CTRL+NUM to save cameraviews 0-9. You can see them by pressing the numbers only. BUT, you can also add ALT+NUM 0-9 to save extra camera views. To save them you use CTRL+ALT+NUM. The only important thing to do is to set the shortcuts in SETTINGS - KEYBOARD - VIEWS - QUICK LOOK. There you see "Go to save 3-D cockpit location #11 - #20 which is blank. So for #11 you set ALT+NUM0, for #12 you set ALT+NUM1 etc etc. Don't forget to also set "Memorize 3-D Cockpit #11-20" with CTRL+ALT+NUM. Hope you understand. Maybe I will make a video someday, or maybe Simulation Channel Deluxe will explain in a part 2 😉
@Our Flight Channel You're welcome. Now enjoy 😉
I have a 60% keyboard and its stressing me the hell out
Thanks from down under in Australia. I have been using xplane for several years, great to see someone providing helpful videos for beginners.
It doesn’t let me set the camera views at all?
So I watched this video and decided to fire up x plane 11 to give this a try. I picked the default 747 to experiment with. I used the free camera to move around the 747's cabin and when the camera clipped into the lavatory (I swear it was by accident) and discovered something interesting... well actually someone interesting... someone having too much fun.
LOL, that's a nice discovery there ;)
it’s not working
Thanks soooo much….. set up all my views. Making things so much simpler and enjoyable!
Can I use anything other than the Numpad keys?
Theoretically yes, as long as you make sure there are no double key inputs.
Thank you sooo much, this video was so helpful. I’m so happy i don’t need any camera plugin for this
I have three monitors that I just want focused on the cockpit panels and buttons. How can I make each individual monitor stay in its position I want it?
Thank you so! much I Been having a random head movement and I thought my X-Plane11 broke.
came back on flight simulators after roughly 10 years ( I was playing all the time when I was 7 I'm 17 right now ) found your channel and it saved me a lot of time, your channel deserves way more attention and credits compared to the work you put in your videos. :D
Saved my day noice tutorial
Hello, My Xpl11 has some problem in the cinema verite, it does not disable, do you know what it can be? The camera keeps going up and down emitting G forces.... I've tried everything to disable plugins etc...
I think the default keyboard shortcut is shift+c, or ctrl+c. Did you try that? Also there's an entry in the top menu bar under "Views" I think.
For some reason I cant save my view. I did Control 0 for my overhead and when I did Shift 0 nothing happened. I have a keyboard with no numpad
It only works with the numpad, and to select a view you don't need the Shift key.
I don’t understand what button I need to click first is not working for me I need a little help
nope doese'nt even work a bit ive been trying for 2 days now yep nvm im stupid
Yes it does work. Do you have your numpad enabled? ;)
Iv'e figured it out. I've been pressing CTRL when i wanted to switch the view thats why
Tks for your great video ..I want ask y a question .. the '' circle view '' ; how it can rotate it automatically ?? is that possible ?Because the Shitf + 4 botton, it make the view outside, but it does not rotate .. unless I make it rotate with the arrow Keys Tks for y reply
To circle around the aircraft without hitting any keys? No, I don't think that's possible unfortunately. Cheers
Tks a lot !!!
but how do u enable it?
What's annoying is why don't Laminar make wingviews available as default rather having to mess around with settings all the time.
what the hell, i can't even save
Thanks men
How exactly do you save them so that they stay? Cause if I go for Strg + 1 it just puts out my flaps
As I say in the video, you have to make sure that there are no double key assignments. You have to delete all the default assignments for the new views keys.
How do I do it with mac?
How to setting that camera if playing in the laptop 14” which no have numpad?
Doesn't work. I have tried several times setting it up. Didn't work.
hello who knows how i can choose always to be in the First officers side ??
I think the sim always defaults you to the pilot's view and it can't be changed. But you can setup your own view on the FO's side and save it.
Thanks you so much for the clarity! got it sorted really quick, thank you :)
Thank u for this video daddy
I'm no daddy lol, but thanks! :D
I don't have cabin how do I add cabin please tell me the Ryanair is not working
Great views. How do you get the R,F keys to look straight up and down? Mine moves at an angle. The period and comma do the same thing. When i pan in and out its not straight. Always at an angle.
am clicking on shift and period the camera just keeps on zooming please help
I remember in my FSX/FSXSE/FS9 years the only way to get that was with payware software, which I believe didn't even work with FS9. At least Xplane got that right. If only X plane could take the good from FSX or FSX could have taken the good from X plane, they would have the perfect program. X plane took a lesson from Microsoft on how to get ATC working, how to have intelligent Ai (redundant?) and a better weather system then it would be perfect.
Incredibly helpful compared to most, u got a sub and like from me
how did you get the tablet?
Zibo

Great Assist for a Newbie, Thanks cheers
But what about other planes? Ive downloaded flight factor, tried do set my wing view, but when i unpause, the spot doensn follow the wing. It gets stucked on that point ive chosen. But i want the camera to follow my wing. That tips only work with the Zibo?
I don't fully understand what you mean. The setting up of views works for every aircraft and it's always the same procedure, as I show in this video.
Do you have to use Zibo mod to move the camera inside the passenger cabin? Can't get past the cockpit door in the default 737.
Thanks for the great video.
Thank you! Well there are many aircraft with those "cockpit wall restrictions" that don't allow the camera to go through, and if you can't open the cockpit door in the default 737, it might not be possible to get into the cabin... I can advise to use the ZIBO instead ;)
Can you explain how install navigraph into xplane? im brand new to it :(
hey. So basically i have a tkl keyboard (no numbpad) is there a way i can do this without the numpad?
You can assign different view keys in the Keyboard options of X-Plane if you like. No need for a numpad, even though it's very practical to have.
Fantastic video it’s a big help.
TYSM YOU HELPED ME A LOT
How you add ai aircraft parking??
There are free solutions like X-Life, and payware like Traffic Global.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe ouh....but where to get airbus 320??how??..like put zibo 737-800x have thr tablet in cockpit
Thank you so much
You SAVED my life!
Very German
Well observed ;)
beste denglisch
Very useful tutorial, THANKS SCD! 👍😁😄😊
I ctrl alt and then number 1 and then I press shift 1 and it did not work please help
Ctrl and numpad 1 to save. Then just numpad 1 to use the view.
I tried that but it still did not work
Thank you. What do you use for ai?
It's X-Life by JARDesign.
Thanks
I cant exit cockpit
In most like the Zibo you have to open the door first. For other payware use google to look for "ATTR_SOLID_CAMERA" you will find ways to do that. Note that the trick used to work with Zibo to get the wingviews slightly from outside the actual cabin so you did not get the window edges, but do not use that trick for Zibo anymore, as removing the solid camera line in the zibo file, makes zibo display an error message in avitab. But for that plane just open the door.
This doesnt work for me 😭
That's very strange, it should definitely work.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe Do I press shift+number I saved the view to or something else?
is there any way to do this without a num pad?
Default is the numpad, but you can also assign other keys for the views (and saving them) in the keyboard assignment settings of XP11.
Simulation Channel Deluxe okay, thank you so much! I subbed btw, your channel is great!
You can assign each numpad key/view to a button on your yoke/stick too.
What if I don't have numpad keys on my keyboard?
Not recommended for flight sims ;)
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe it's the only keyboard I have
@@sadisadihotmailcom Well a numpad is crucial to have... maybe you can get an external USB numpad, should do the job.
