- Dramatic video shows a couple get into a high-speed chase with a suspected child kidnapper on a Massachusetts highway after an Amber Alert was issued for a while who went missing in Springfield. “He just blew through a red light,” a woman can be heard saying in the video. “He's blowing through red lights!” Police asked residents to be on the lookout for a blue Honda that seemed to be following the missing child after she got off the school bus to go home. #InsideEdition

Neither dangerous nor stupid if anything heroic. Because of their selfless actions those parents had this baby back home safe.
I'm a local and honestly they did cause unneccessary damage to their vehicle and cause the kidnapper to take off at a dangerous rate of speed. Why do I say this? Because this couple didnt actually catch the kidnapper. He escaped them and was called in by other bystanders on a stretch of highway miles and hours away after this video. State troopers running traffic for road repair stopped traffic after multiple people called it in, in their area. I appreciate them getting the license plate number because that was a key piece of info but they could have done that without causing alarm and putting other motorists at danger. Just my opinion either way I'm grateful this girl was saved from the clutches of that monster, and I can appreciate what they were trying to attempt.

I think the one critical error they made was they were in the far left lane, pacing him in the right lane and then turn all the way from the far left lane, down the side road the suspect took which immediately alerted him. I think had they paced him, in his lane and stayed back just enough to make the turn with him, from his lane it wouldnt have spooked him into fleeing. Adrenaline is running high though and sometimes common sense breaks down. Just saying this is why it's important to practice emotional control and remember to keep the situation in front of you as cool as you can keep it. Still like I said though good on them, they did do the right thing. I agree with you, it was indeed heroic, I take nothing from them and their actions.
