  • We landed on a golf course, a sandbar, and a mountain top, flying a Bonanza, a Super Cub, and a Robinson R44 helicopter in British Columbia. And we got the food to prove it.

Great production. Excellent balance of landscape and airplane footage. Your choice of video and audio editing/splicing/layering maintained the forward momentum of the storyline. I was never bored. I WAS super jealous the whole time though. Thanks for sharing your trip in such an inspiring artistic way.

Pretty full day. Eat a lot, fly a little, eat a lot, fly a little more. I could do that. Practice your landings at unfamiliar cafes, and blend a little bush flying, landing on sandbars topped with a back country helicopter ride. Sounds boring, but you seemed to survive without too many cuts and scrapes. Great 👍 video. Thanks 😊

Another homerun. I'm gonna figure out how to get my pilots license, you've inspired me to make it happen. You and JP (The Candourist) are truly inspirational human beings. I'm sure you have your issues as a human but your demeanor, humility and professionalism are a good example, role model like even.

Matt, we also have flown into Butter Valley PA where the golfers have to wait for you to land. Whats nice is you taxi right up to the shack, get your golf cart and get right to playing. Check it out.. Nice place and the food is good. Have fun.

Matt, if you ever make it back up to Alaska we should try and link up! My dad has been flying Super Cubs up here since about 1987. I pretty much grew up in the back of our Cub and our PA-12. I'm sure he'd be super happy to take you for a spin and maybe give you some pointers on bush flying in Alaska if you were interested.

Several reasons in the Bonanza, biggest one is that the POH short field procedure calls for no flaps, so
      1) that’s the official recommendation
      2) you don’t have speeds to fly with flaps unless you pull them from an old POH (taken out because Vx with flaps is too close to the power off stall speed) or do your own test flight program
      3) they don’t make much of a difference anyway and only for close-in obstacles
      4) just one more thing to muck up on climb out near the edge of the envelope
