Regardless of whether or not Wukong forced Macaque to be a sacrifice or not (I personally don't think he would) I think your theory is the best one I've seen. You brought a very good connection to how Macaque's powers would be able to manipulate chaos powers in he was exposed to it through being a sacrifice. I think this theory also works ASTOUNDINGLY well with all of the parallels between Macaque and Wukong's fight that led to his death, and MK and Wukong's fight that led to MK sacrificing himself. Multiple shots lined up and if Macaque died in a fight that was near the great pillars breaking, both of them died to fix it. I really hope we get more insight to how Macaque died next season 😭

I love how narratively satisfying this theory makes s5, and very much justifies mac's inclusion-- as well as his new powers at the end. Though not everything appears to line up...for one, Wukong's dialogue during their fight. The only way i could imagine "don't make me do this" fits into this is if it was meant like "don't make me force you in there", i.e the pillar. Which, considering their closeness, as well as the fight seeming to happen _after_ the journey, when he's meant to have achieved enlightenment...it makes it hard to believe he'd do something that selfish with both these things in mind... I just wouldn't want to pin everything on Wukong before we know any context on their fight, as well as info on Mac's origin (as well as his powers). Though this definitely made me think that something else could've happened than the widely held fandom beliefs 🤔

Umm I could be wrong about this but I always had felt that something went wrong when MK was awken as he wasn't to mean to be awake right now. life would have continued on. Also the snake guy (don't really know his name) freed Azure from his prison which killed the Jade Emperor, that's what made the pillar collapse along with how the other protectors of the stones were dying or already dead. Also it seems like Wukong was one of Nuwas children. Wukong seem on the large part not to know who or what MK really is but he does care for him so given the change he would sacrifice himself for him. Also he is the intelligent stone monkey he would be able to put two to two together and realize that someone had to do something. And while the rest of the cast were reincarnated they aren't part of "the great cycle". MK wasn't meant to have a life, he wasn't meant to connect with these people. The entire series wasn't meant to happen; Bull Kings return, the Spider Queens rise, LBD's return and Azure being the new Jade Emperor. All weren't meant to happen but because of chaos and MK they did that's why Nuwa mentions as he did more than what he was supposed to. He was meant to live only to die for this great cycle. To keep them in this cage so chaos wouldn't be unleashed. If MK had decided to sacrifice himself no one would know him, his friends would forget him. The journey would continue as it always will and always had. But because of the chaos role Nuwa could not predict these events to occur. In fact the little glimpses we see from the guardians didn't show what actually happened because the demon changed it. He might not be chaos himself but he has the power so destiny cannot predict it. The great cycle didn't always exist though as the snake guy implied, but when Nuwa saw the chaos she decided to lock them all in a cage so from what I can gather this is the first time this cycle has ever occurred. These people weren't meant to live on for centuries but chaos had cut it short. If chaos hadn't intervened then life would have continued as normal until the pillar was collapsing that's when MK would have awoken up.
@@R.KStarlight If MK was not supposed to even have a life, that would be REALLY interesting to explore in future content. Like he had a destiny that he couldn't follow because he was not supposed to even EXIST. I personally think that the Great Cycle does extend to everyone, judging by how Nuwa tries to make MK feel better by saying that they would still continue, just not as they are, implying some sort of reincarnation at least from my viewing of the words. But she was so vague that it's entirely up for interpretation until we get more info. THANK YOU SM FOR UR COMMENT !!

How does anyone gets me so hooked up with a theory from a show i don't even watch? I love this theory, but I feel the line that Wukong says in the flashback. " Macaque, don't make me do this." gives me doubts. If Wukong knows that he has to kill Macaque to apease the cycle and save his friends what part of this becomes Macaque forcing his hand, promting that line. You can also hear Macaque laughing in the background after Wukong says that line, which would imply that he's in someway going mad or atleast antagonised Wukong into killing him. I recognise it could be that Macaques death unintentionally apeased the pillars, but he would have need the stones which would have required some for planning or knowledge from either Wukong or Macaque which again makes Wukongs line confusing. I agree with with your point about "who did you make a deal with." to a certain stretch, but because the line before that specifically refers to his powers it would imply that the nine headed demon was asking about a deal he made to get stronger powers. However I agree that the deal could still just refer to his deal with LBD, Her use of 'my champion' always rubbed me the wrong way it always made me thing that she could have given him more than just life. If she knows that Macaque was weaker than Wukong before then I could see her giving him more power so that when she needed him he would be her 'champion' My other thoughts is that if Wukong was supposed to be the sacrifice to apease the cycle why would MK have an stone egg in the first place. Mk is definitely Nuwas child and her creation, but if that entire cycle was supposed to end with Wukong why did MKs stone come from his? Another qestion is about Wukong 'knowing' that he can sacrifice himself instead of MK, the way he says it in the show is a questions, it's a hypothetical. We both came from the same stone? the I could take your place sort of thing ( I don't remember the exact quote, but you hear it in tone of voice aswell) Wukong is unsure. Theoretically I could see it as him knowing that macaques sacrifice apeases the pillars last time, but again Macaques death scene becomes an issue. Wukong is also surprised and conserned in season 4 when the world starts cracking, if something like that happened before when Wukong was supposed to be sacrifice why was he so surprised in season 4? This is a good theory and I prefer it to ones where Macaque made a deal with a chaos being because it's hard to understand when or why? he would do that.
Thank you so much for your long comment, I really really love reading these AND I WAS HOPING I WOULD GET QUESTIONS ABOUT STUFF LIKE THIS YAAAY Definitely, the "Macaque, don't make me do this" is one of the things that could be used as an argument against this theory, because if Wukong was the one trying to kill him, then why would he ask Macaque to stop? It's possible that it's some sort of...victim blaming rooted in selfishness, or maybe Wukong is remembering it differently than how it actually happened. The hundred eyed demon was intentionally manipulating the thoughts of MK to make him uncomfortable, so who knows if that was actually how the event occurred. Maybe Wukong blocked out how much of a jerk he was being, but that's all speculation I like the idea that the NHD is asking about the deal with LBD and how it affected Macaque's powers, because it's possible that maybe he didn't have those shadowy powers pre-LBD deal? That would make a lot of sense, since he's not shown to be using them in the flashback scenes in s4. I also never thought about the 'my champion' line, how it implies that the Lady Bone Demon did more than just bring him back to life, but she also gave Macaque powers beyond those that he could ever attain I think the stone egg might have been created because Nuwa was like "dang what the heck. SWK is not doing what I wanted him to. time to try again with a new kid!" but at the same time the chronology of events is so unknown that it's hard to be for sure, we'll definitely have to wait for more information And yeah I don't get why SWK was so surprised. Surely if the 100 eyed demon enjoyed feasting on peoples fear and had the ablity to see and use the memories to get more out of his victims why if there was a version of events WuKong would try and avoid in which it was well and truely his fault for killing macaque would he instead show him a version in which WuKong is assumedly less responsible? I love discussing stuff it's my favorite thing ever That makes a lot of sense, I mean with Wukong there are so many nasty memories to pick from, why would the 100 eyed demon decide to paint it like it wasn't his fault? Maybe, to inverse the whole idea of everything, instead of Wukong willingly killing Macaque to get out of his destiny, Macaque was instead paranoid that Wukong would turn on him and attacked him first, leading up to his death? That would be super interesting At the same time I think some part of it definitely has to be Wukong's fault with how much they're portraying it as something Macaque forgave in s4 with that lil smile rather than something that he apologized for I love theorizing sm I'm so glad that this space is comfortable for us to yap :D

Wait but if he were supposed to be sacrificed and instead macaque was wouldn’t they have known of the stones existence? They both don’t seem to know if they are real when the season began?
You had me at the first part with "Wukong bugged the cycle by refusing to die and everyone but him got reincarnated in the same cycle" thing ....but the rest of the video is so bias it gets annoying. Saying that Wukong betrayed the Brotherhood? That was AZURE'S point of view, and we were shown how he puts his own blame on Wukong ON SCREEN, with MK calling him out on this, we CAN NOT trust his opinion on the matter BROTHERHOOD abandoned Wukong afterwards, for 500 years under a mountain, not the other way around. And Wukong purposefully killing Mac? Now that's just bullshit, at no point would he do something like this, no matter how much he fears death - he'd be more likely to fight chaos itself than go after Mac of all people.

Its so cool to be able to talk about this stuff, I've always enjoyed the consept of theorising, but never had the time of channel that I think it would make sense to do so on TwT
@@twigbranch4556 OH YEAH OF COURSE!! I love discussing stuff it's my favorite thing ever
That makes a lot of sense, I mean with Wukong there are so many nasty memories to pick from, why would the 100 eyed demon decide to paint it like it wasn't his fault? Maybe, to inverse the whole idea of everything, instead of Wukong willingly killing Macaque to get out of his destiny, Macaque was instead paranoid that Wukong would turn on him and attacked him first, leading up to his death? That would be super interesting
At the same time I think some part of it definitely has to be Wukong's fault with how much they're portraying it as something Macaque forgave in s4 with that lil smile rather than something that he apologized for
I love theorizing sm I'm so glad that this space is comfortable for us to yap :D
@@StarlainDisguise Yeah, I could see that, depending on how JTTW accurate LMK decides to go.
@@twigbranch4556 It's really interesting thinking about where LMK is gonna go from here with the JTTW lore, especially since the NHD was never even mentioned in JTTW. I can't wait for what comes next

The drop in animation meme quality RREAUUAUAUUGUH!!!
It is definitely sad. But, on the bright side, there were a few moments in s5 that showed promise, and I have heard they were under intense time constraints. I think future animation will be a lot better if the animators are given enough time :)
HELP!!!!
It’s been a few days since I saw this but now the questions and speculation are clawing at my brain! 😭
OK! I can’t watch this now, BUT I WILL LATER WHEN I CAN FOCUS!😭
This sounds so intense and interesting. I really wanna see and hear what you conjured up😂it sounds good.
So until then….
I’m just gonna say-
IM SUBBING! I can already tell when someone deserves a ✨sub✨

@@XUnknown_FateX u are a wonderful person that's why so many people tell u that!!
@@StarlainDisguise I honestly don’t know what to say about it besides thank you. I’ve never really been complimented much by strangers let alone people I know😭I apparently don’t know how to take compliments😅
@@StarlainDisguiseok. I have now watched the whole video. I LOVE IT. AND IT ACTUALLY EXPLAINS SO MUCH!
With Macaque being one of sacrifices makes so much sense, even though he wasn’t suppose to be. So the stuff you mentioned, I had thought of but didn’t go too in-depth into it. But the way you explained it makes sense and saved me a lot of time thinking how this was happening😅
Also I apologize for watching this a lot later than I intended…
(My excuse: *school* )
But thank you for taking the time to make this video, this helped me understand what could possibly be happening. I wanna hug you so bad😭
Monkey King did not do a betrayal
He was impersioned by the army of heaven, and the brotherhood didn't come for him, so yeah
He said "It's gonna be so satisfying to kill you with your own powers" because he had stolen MK's powers
@@XCross346 OH yeah obviously I don't blame him for getting literally forced to. I just used the betrayed word because it got across my idea better :3
And yeah after recent information and rewatching the episode I agree with your second point !
I like this theory a lot
@@Valerie_Star81 thank you, i appreciate it!!
THIS IS AMAZING AND OMG SO COMPREHENSIVE!!!!!!
@@banana_walter_ THANK YOU!!!! ^____^
W theory vid
thanks! :)
Wait but if he were supposed to be sacrificed and instead macaque was wouldn’t they have known of the stones existence? They both don’t seem to know if they are real when the season began?
So... To summarize, Monkey King is to blame for just about everything happening?/hj
You had me at the first part with "Wukong bugged the cycle by refusing to die and everyone but him got reincarnated in the same cycle" thing
....but the rest of the video is so bias it gets annoying.
Saying that Wukong betrayed the Brotherhood? That was AZURE'S point of view, and we were shown how he puts his own blame on Wukong ON SCREEN, with MK calling him out on this, we CAN NOT trust his opinion on the matter
BROTHERHOOD abandoned Wukong afterwards, for 500 years under a mountain, not the other way around.
And Wukong purposefully killing Mac? Now that's just bullshit, at no point would he do something like this, no matter how much he fears death - he'd be more likely to fight chaos itself than go after Mac of all people.
Hey there!!! I’d like to give a friendly reminder that this is just a theory!! There’s a lot nicer ways to tell someone you personally don’t agree with their opinion instead of calling It bullshi!!! This is just speculation and everyone’s free to have their own opinion! Of course we’re gonna be biased, it’s opinions. It’s all for fun 🫶
@@MariiilumeTheories suck when based on OOC assumptions about a character. It's like "hey, what if Pigsy lets Tang "freeload" cause he wants to eat him later, he's a demon!" That's not a theory, that's just stupid. I LOVE theories, I watched this video BECAUSE it's a theory - but half of it is just baseless, which is sad, cause the other half is interesting and does make sense.
@@lunamiko9536 like I stated before, that’s YOUR opinion!!! It’s all opinions, that doesn’t mean we need to hate on others opinions. A lot of people have different interpretations of things and that’s the fun of being in a fandom! No need to hate on something that someone put ALOT of time and love into!!!
This you’r theory is bad
1. Wukong never was to supposed to the sacrifice IT WAS SUPPOSED MK
2. Mk is harbinger of chaos that like nuwa told mk
3. Wukong was try to stop mk the sacrifice himself and that why he was ready take her place because Wukong didn’t want lose mk and that’s why mk Stop him okay!
Haw even watch season 5 ?
I’m SORRY but you’r theory make me sad and Angry! 😭
hey! there are much nicer ways to phrase all of this, and lowkey attacking the creator of the video for honest mistakes is kinda mean!!! please consider your words, and how they may make people feel
