yep - it is quite clear that macaque actually dies from wukong's hands. it is also interesting how macaque, even tho ressurected by lbd, still ignored her key - which was then handed to mk by mayor - macaque never even cared abt her, he just wanted to get away and live once again without hustles... i like him smmmmmm relatable king

Wukong gives macaque a peach, which is supposed to show they have a strong bond. In the arrangement they had under a mountain, macaque smashes a peach. which shows this relationship is over. Then, at the beach. Wukong gives macaque a peach popsicle, which says they want to fix things. speaking of the beach scene, when wukong says "whenever their is scheming, we can handle it" macaque blinks in confusion but hopeful. People thought it was to show that macaque was surprised that wukong said *we*, but glad he's not alone anymore. The artist who made the scene confirmed that was what they were trying to show.

Different, not the same but still sweet and familiar, just like their new founded relationship to one another. Yes, it may not be the same but although it’s different and not the same, the original core of the friendship is still there.

Theory: I think Macaque got his scar when he got his black fur, and Wukong betrayed Macaque by aiming for Macaque’s biggest weakness (that he probably shared with only Wukong) and killing him with it in their big fight. It would explain why Macaque tells Tang to be careful about getting too close to the king, because the king will use the vulnerabilities shared in that closeness against you if you cross him. Which Wukong normally does do to his enemies in his fights, just verbally by digging into his enemies insecurities and mocking their vulnerabilities. With Macaque, words and mocking weren’t enough, because Macaque, in the show, doesn’t get rattled by Wukong’s words like Bull King or LBD or Spider Queen do. It isn’t the killing that Macaque can’t forgive. It’s the fact that Wukong went for his eye.

I think that the lady bone demon part in the illusion of mk was also made by eye dude (?), he used his memories to trick mk (?) so by that i thought the laugh was just another illusion made by eye demon, i imagine it as like: Wukong was supposed to kill macaque like in the story, but he doesnt want to because macaque is his bbg, but he was forced to and i guess macaque in the illusion was forcing him or trying to make him guilty in some way thats why wukong says "dont make me do this" while macaque laughs, this is just a theory!

It’s probably not the best theory, but there is one from season five that Macaque’s powers where originally chaos, having made “a deal with someone” and eventually went crazy, leading Wukong to kill him, hence why he said “don’t make me do this” and macaque’s chaotic laughter in the background. I’m not quite familiar with the theory, but in season five Medusa guy also went pretty crazy when he was cut off from chaos, and wether or not it had anything to do with it, I always like considering that in Wukong and Macaque’s fight, we can see how Maccaque’s own powers are putting him down, and (maybe most likely not) Nezha’s spear next to him
i heard of the deal theorie and honestly dk how to feel about it (before i start COOL PFP G) ANYWAY so i lemme elaborate - i think it makes sense. sorta. xiangliu hinting TWICE at macaque's powers being "interesting" which is a MAJOR side eye, cuz the powers DO look very similar. its black with an outline outside of it, and macaque was the ONLY one able to break through it TWICE in same episode. so the fact that macaque could be connected to chaos is inevitable, he most likely is, but there somes the mmystery of wukong killing mac which honestly idk how to feel about. see, i dont think it was chaos which led macaque to go crazy or ballistic - cause if he had known chaos powers, why didnt he say anything when he saw xiangliu's powers? he broke through them, but didnt mention and looked surprised at the abilities displayed - which leads me think that its not the best cause of macaque's insanity - it COULD BE THE CASE, its not entirely wrong, but i think its something else. macaque's powers are purple. it was purple in wukong's and macaque's fight too (considering macaque was using his PURPLE crudgel) so the fact his powers being chaos when the colors dont match is eh. u could say there is a possibility for macaque to forget those memories of having to go mad from chaos / it being erased from his memory bcs we dont even know chaos powers and who/what controls it - but then again, how come he remembers the fight between them (which is weird cuz from MACAQUES POV we only saw the two second clip in which he remembers things VERY poorly, only the figures showing and nothing else, only one second of last strike) counterpoint (the scene where lady bone demon was referencing their fight and the visuals were clearer) and macaque still was everytime outlined/drawn in purple shades, never changing/ only in last seconds of 6th season, we got to see macaque holding a chaos power, rather than his, original powers,. so it might be that macaque's powers are connected/similar to the chaos's, but yet differ in sense that he controls his own powers/shadows, when xiangliu obviously FEELS the chaos distress on himself... i need 6 season.

But just letting you know Macaque most likely didn't help Wukong at all during JTTW, and their fight in which Wukong literally took away Macaque's sight in one eye and killed him takes place during JTTW, before Wukong imprisoned DBK. First, the book would indicate it, second I think Macaque might have been super angry that Wukong was now on the Celestial Realm's side. Although the book doesn't even say that Macaque and Wukong knew each other at all, Macaque literally appears in one chapter only to die in the same chapter XD. But how did that fight even happen? Monk after Wukong killed a group of bantites was already sick of him and threw him out. So Wukong went to Guanyin to chill/j And Guanyin told him that Monk and the rest would soon be in great danger Meanwhile Macaque transformed into Wukong attacked the Piligrims and stole the tripataks and went to FFM. They thought it was Wukong, but when someone I don't remember who went to FFM and then to Guanyin it turned out that Wukong was sitting with Guanyin the whole time. And when they went to FFM together IT TURNED OUT THAT MACAQUE STILL LOOKED LIKE WUKONG WAS THERE. They got into a pretty long battle, no one could tell who was the real Wukong, they had to go all the way to Buddha to tell them apart. And then when it turned out it was Macaque, Wukong simply killed him
oh, yeah! i do remember the jjjtw version, whereas tripitaka kicked wukong out and then macaqe just outta nowhere appeared to just f*ck w wukong and the gang 💀💀 didnt know the first fact tho! did wukong just go on rampage to just out everyone he had issues with? how mad was he that he had to kill mac like thats crazy... also tysmmmm glad u enjoyed!
