Your holding the lead to make it work you would need a heavey lead also to make it work but by then the hook should have embedded itself in the fishes mouth better to fish with a heavey lead and ultra sharp hook
Brilliant video Andrew , like you say the innovation that will come from this could be a game changer , the product is poor and unsafe but will lead to better products I'm sure ... Thanks for the video. Steve M
Good comments on turning the other way around but you would have the same problem playing the fish through weed while you were gaining line. My opinion is that is too risky to use with fish! What were they thinking. Someone must have said...oh...Ali, this is shit!
If the twig pulled back with 10x the force required to trigger it then it might hook the fish but as the fish is pulling harder than the spring tension to activate it it has no effect at all. Who ever "designed" this needs to give their head a wobble to see if there is anything inside!!
@GerardOconnell-q4d no by cautious lake owners making sure the fishes welfare comes first private syndicates that's up to them we already see what happens with lead clips leaders and the like
In my opinion, when the fish pulls and activates the spring, in 99% of cases it is already hooked. This is enough to understand how useless this device is.
I don't think this is true. If you watch how people get done on the underwater videos. Sometimes the fish is able to pick up the rig and move the lead then spit it out. Won't be wasting my money on this thing just don't agree with your statement based on underwater videos.
@@victorlockett816 If a fish can eject the hook after moving the sinker, it can also eject it in the presence of the spring. It simply means that, for a thousand reasons, that fish was not meant to stay hooked.
No, fishing with a rod, line and hooks, is fishing and its fish against man using devices like the twig, is trapping, thankfully most angler and fisheries see that, if people cant catch fish without using a self hooking device (trapping) than they are not an angler.
Really solid analysis, thanks for this one Andrew

Definitely not sponsored by OMC 😂😂😂

100%
Haha "Garbage Twig" 😂
Seems that way! 😊
Fish safety is top of the list, The twig should have no place in angling.
Cool.
if fish safety is so important why do 99.9% of anglers-take photos of unsupported fish
design to catch gullible anglers.... in that respect it works. Garbage 😊
same was said about
bite alarms years-ago

Yes.
Not sure magnets are the solution. Your hook would be stuck to the side of it…
Banned on nearly all fisheries
Yes already
by hysterical lake owners...

fish welfare
like holding them unsupported for a photo
great welfare
@GerardOconnell-q4d what do you mean if your holding a fish its supported unless you lip holding it or resting it on your knee

Correct.
@@AndrewsKnots Only one of the many products invented to catch...the anglers🤣

Even if we did want to use them (which we dont) we cant anyway as they are rightfully banned everywhere.
Cool.
If the flaps were on the other way they would snag even more as you are reeling in fish so your idea Does not work
It wouldn't be banned if flipped as far as I can see it.
ultimately just another product..
Fishing is meant to be man against fish, there is no glory in trapping fish.
So then using rod->..->hook would mean cheating too as in it's only fair to catch fish with bare hands.

This came out 2 minuets later every fisherie in the uk banned it and still banned
Cool.
Don't use them dangerous in weed.
Yes.
